One of the nagging problems of the Sims 2 series has been the lack of a strong feeling of time passing. While you could watch your sims age, the only real impression of time going by that I've ever gotten is my own frequent glances toward the age bars to see how much time each sim would have left in their current life phase.
Separate from the many wonderful features that have been added to the game, the real golden improvement is the immense amount of atmosphere that the weather provides. It hadn't occurred to me before I started playing that something as simple as snow on the ground would change the feeling of the game so much. There's a distinct coziness in having your sims sit inside in front of the fire on a snowy winter day that was never present in the previous eternal summer. It also creates a feeling of time moving on for the entire lot as a whole, without depending on any kind of nagging need to check whether the teen is going to have to leave for college soon, or similar

I have been waiting for this expansion pack to be out for ages. Being slightly disappointed with Pets, I was a little wary about it, but it turns out it is just awesome. The graphics are great and bring a whole new aspect to the Sims2. Each season has its own special twist, for example, you learn faster in the fall; and there are wonderful interactions associated with each season. I also enjoyed the option of being able to grow and harvest veggies. All around, this is the best that has come out of the Sims 2.

Now that I've played Sims 2 with seasons, I can't play it without. I recently changed computers and had to load Sims 2 on it. I tried playing it without the expansion packs, to see if I really needed them after all, and within twenty minutes I felt like something was missing and had to add on some of them--seasons being the first. It makes the game feel more realistic, and I love all the new clothing options that came with it. I have purchased all of the expansion packs, but I didn't feel the need to install them all on my new computer. After playing the game with seasons, it just didn't feel right without it. In my opinion a worthwhile buy and addition to your Sims experience.

So the Sims 2 Seasons has a lost of awesome new stuff. You can check the forcast on the TV or newspaper! It's like so totally sweet. They have new hairstyles and you get to have outerwear! I mean who wouldn't love this game? In the winter, you can make snowmen or make snowangels. But you have to be careful because if you don't wear warm clothes or your outerwear outside, you could catch a cold. It rains, snows, and even hails! This is one of my FAVORITE expansion packs out of all of them. If I could rate the fun higher, I would have rated it TEN STARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I got this for Christmas (yeah, a long time ago) and I LOVEEEE IT!
Playing in the snow, fishing, raking the leaves, sometimes setting them on fire and having summer heated barbecues are just some of the amazing things you can do.
The graphics are the most realistic ever!
You can have rain, sleet, hail, snow and sometimes (only happened once in 6 months) a sun shower. :)
Negatively, I don't know how but when I moved out a given family and moved mine in (they had a nice house) the weather, not season got stuck. And it was snow. I would look at the meter saying the season and it would move but the snow stayed on the ground.
ALSO, after a while it gets a little boring but thats what all the other amazing expansion packs are for! =]
I also recommend using
canyourunit.com
before buying the game.
Even though it's cheap, I wouldn't waste 20 bucks if it wont work.
In all, you should definitely buy the game! The Sims 2 is utterly amazing!

This is one of the best games ever made. Addicting and non stop gameplay. Lots of things to do at home. This game is even better with the Nightlife Expansion Pack. Also building tools are better, and you are able to build your own community lots and homes. I recommend this game to anyone who likes The Sims 2 and who likes to build stuff. :-)

I loved this EP! It was great, with the sound effects, the scenery, the beautiful graphics in it!
You have so many options in this game. Being realistic, some of the things that happen in this game will make you laugh, but they will always entertain you!
It is a never ending game that has so many options in it to explore! I loved making snowmen, snow angels as well as seeing the lightening hit the trees!
You have the option, now, of planting your own food, as well as harvesting and eating it!
There is so much you can do with this, the action never stops, the ideas put into this game are so numerous it's hard to explain in just one post! You gotta try this game! You'll be hooked like the rest of us!
Happy Simming!

I wasn't sure I would like this expansion pack - don't know what I originally had against weather, but I have really enjoyed the new layers the pack adds to the basic Sims2 gameplay.
Your Sims can freeze while building snowmen or making snow angels; while fishing, they can become overheated and might get sunburned; during thunderstorms your Sim might be struck by lightning (and depending on their type, that might be a positive thing), and then there's the gardening and fruit trees, and the surprise I got when one of my Sims changed and turned green (a plant Sim).
One thing I have often forgotten in the past when building was putting a roof on my residences - if I do that now, my Sims are exposed to the elements. Not good when a puddle appears in the living room.
This expansion pack adds a new dimension that I wouldn't want to play without now. Definitely recommended to the Sims2 fans out there. Enjoy!

Great expansion pack which makes for some big gameplay changes, and it's visually awesome too - love the snow! Unfortunately this I believe is the last expansion pack EA put out without that ridiculous securom on it, so I will not be purchasing their products in future.

I like how you can create a family and build it up from scratch. Your family basically starts at nothing and brings it up to the top. I like how in this expansion pack you have the ability of the changing weather patterns and the greenhouses. You also have the opportunity for talent badges. Overall this game is a lot of fun to play continuously and it will almost always supprise you.

My wife loves these games, the only con is to my wallet as when there is another expansion I go and get it for her. She loves all the expansions though and I can't fault her on game playing.

No world is right without seasons, yeah, it would be nice for no frost bite or sunburn, but rain is nice and so is sun. Thats where this game comes in, it has all of the seasons. Its like the accual human world, but more digital and fake!

This is one of the best expansion packs that the game offers. Not only does the weather add a whole new aspect to your game, but the sims can also garden and grow their own food, in addition to being able to catch and cook fish. This expansion pack is definitely worth buying.

I have this expansion pack for the Sims 2 series. No Sims 2 Collection is complete without a single expansion pack. The best part about this pack is the changing seasons that the game simulates. I like the Spring and Summer seasons myself with the rain and thunderstorms. If your thinking of buying this pack for your Sims 2 collection, go for it because it gives the game that extra boost in gameplay. One of my family members said that they wanted it for their collection thus I bought it again.

This expansion is one of the best. I like the changing of the seasons and the weather forecasts that you can get on the local simtv weather station. The activities for each season are cool too. Snowball fights, snow angels, snowman making etc. I like the random flashes of lightning during thunderstorms, will it hit a tree and catch it on fire? will it hit the house or the lightning rod? No Sims 2 collection is complete without Seasons.

This pack isn't for the sim who hates chores. The seasons are fantastic and shift on a rotational schedule with random weather. It rains, hails, snows, and shines sun on and off with this game. However, with fall comes the dying plants, the leaves that fall, and the harvesting season for those who like to grow things. Your sims can get sick in this game. Depending on their body temperature, their wellness can change due to what they wear in each season. If you go out in the snow in shorts, your sim will most likely have the sniffles the next day. Just the idea of weather and seasonal shifts makes the sims a fully rounded virtual world. If you are going to get an expansion pack, get this one first.

So as with The Sims 2 Pets, this expansion to me does not add up to the lag time and bugs it can give your Sims 2 program.
Overall, I like the idea and I really do like watching the weather change, but the whole thing of having to change your clothes to go out in the rain and also getting struck by lighting so often?? What the heck is with that anyway??
To me, it is a fun idea but not the best execution of it, and normally I love Sims games and the expansions, but this one and Pets, both I was disappointed with overall.

I think this is one of the better expansion packs for the Sims 2 game as it adds more that just objects. But, I quickly found that my entire gameplay began to revolve around the seasons...a little too much. It was fun for about a weekend, but not worth the full price.

There is a reason why there are so may 5 star reviews, it is very difficult to find faults with this game because there is a lot to do, and opens up many windows of opportunities to the game that the other expansion packs just do not have. You can own your own vegetable, fruit garden and sell it profit or stock the items in your fridge or in the fruit machine thing. Making it cost effective, because you don't have to go to the grocery store a lot if you have fresh fruits and vegetables growing in the backyard. You can also fish, and cook the fish that you caught from the pond. there is a new terrain that comes with the game, some R name..cant remember it. But if you want to design your own backyard, and home you can go into any of the other neighborhoods and create anything you can imagine. You can even make a pond in your backyard , create some grass..its great! The seasons are so realistic, its amazing: snow, hail, rain, lightining storms, falling leaves etc..when it snows you can make

I Love the sims 2 series, and this game is great. The only thing i don't like is that the interaction pane has become crowded. this is really my only complaint in the expansion pack.

I frequent many of the various Sims 2 fansites out there and the opinion seems to be pretty unanimous- Seasons is the best expansion, with Nightlife following closely behind.
First I'll start with the big things that Seasons adds- weather effects. New seasons bring new activities- yours Sims can catch butterflies during spring evenings, play in or rake leaves in the fall, make snowmen and have snowball fights in the winter, even freeze in the winter or get sunburn in the summer if you're not careful. You'll see realistic lighting and sound effects that really make the graphics more attractive. Snow or rain (or hail!) are random, and your sims have a new category of clothing- outerwear that should be worn during their time outside lest they get sick.
Sims have some detailed new activities they can undertake- namely, fishing and gardening. They have gift giving and new little games they can play with each other to substantially increase friendship levels. Any food they make can be

Sims 2: Seasons is my favorite sims 2 game out of all of them. I love it, it so awesome. You'll never get bored of this game. There are so many new things you can get and do. Like clothes, a round shaped pool, water slide, snowball fight, waterballon fight and much more. The best has come, if you were going get some other sims 2 game don't because this one is the BEST!!!!

The original Sims only touched on the idea of weather, but now you have full fledged control over sunshine and snow. As always, Maxis made sure to include lots of easter eggs to find. This expansion pack keeps it's novelty for a long time, it directly effects all other packs, and you can explore countless combinations.

This game is awesome! I love the new weather feature. There are 4 seasons- spring &summer= thunderstorms and hail, autum- rain/snow, winter-snow. Also with the new gardening feature you can have certain veggies and plants grow better in a certain season. And now you can fish and use the fish you catch anlong with the veggies to eat. Another great feature to this game is having the ability to have leftovers. In this game you get all sorts of new clothes and objects. I would defenitly get this game.

This is my most favorite pack out of them all. I never knew Maxis/EA would come up with something as awesome as this, but they did. I would recommend this game to everyone. This is my most favorite game. If you love virtual reality, you will love this game. You would have to get all the Expansion packs in order to experience the full gaming experience, but this pack is awesome!

"Seasons" is one of 5 expansion packs to the original Sims 2, and in my opinion, is one of the best expansions. One of the key factors in "Seasons" is that your Sims can now experience the changes in the seasons (winter, spring, summer, and fall). With those changes in seasons, come fun surprises (Winter: snow days from school, building a snowman, catching a cold. Spring: growing plants for use in your own kitchen or business. Summer: great days for playing special outdoor activities like water balloon fights, and sunburns. Fall: Learning skills are enhanced, leaves falling, jumping in piles of leaves). In addition, you can choose what seasons you want your Sims to have. So, if your Sims live in the mountains, they can have an extended winter season. Or, if they live in Seattle, they can have a perpetual Spring season where it rains a lot. Your sims can have different outerwear for each season. And, of course, with any Sims game, there is always the strange anomaly; the plant people. I

I think this is the best expansion pack that the Sims 2 has. Its soo much fun to play, especially when the seasons change. I haven't done everything possible, but I love the gardening option...its fun to see when your people become excellent gardeners, and the big fish that you can catch in the pond. All of my sims have ponds in their yards now! I also like the snow...playing in it is fun and I love when the penguin decides to show up. There are a lot of new features with this expansion pack, its easy to integrate into your already playing and its just fun!!

very cool!...the weather effects are very fun to watch and find out how your sims interact. besides the weather, this expansion has many new items to choose from which probably makes it the best expansion yet...in my opinion...so go out and buy it!

The sims two seasons is a fun exciting game. If you love the regular you'll love it a whole bunch more. First off it chnages seasons. It snows, it thunders and lightings,it rains,it does a whole bunch of things. You can fish or even plant a graden with fruits and vegtables. That can turn into juices using the jucier or sold fot money. This game is a ton of fun.

I have played Sims 2 the orginal game and loved it, but was hoping for an expansion pack that would give me more. I had been through all the careers and such and bought a couple other expansion packs. Seasons though is by far the best one I have gotten. I love the fact that there are now seasons in the game and that you can experience different types of weather. It certainly makes the game more exciting and less repeative. I also love the fact that there are new careers to explore. A few other nice features are the being able to put away leftovers and being able to go fishing. Saves on the budget and the fishing is fun. A cute aspect of the game is the penguin that you can play with in the winter season. Being able to plant things is a nice new feature that adds character to the game though can be a little time consuming. Overall I give the game an A and recommend it to any looking to spice up their Sims 2 experience.

This is probably one of Maxis' greatest additions to the Sims series. With this EP come a plethora of new things for your Sims to do, such as have snow ball fights, fish, and other weather-related activities, and also a lot more ways for your Sims to make money. Don't like sending your sims to work from 9-5? Don't worry about it--make a living from your meticulous garden care.
I looked forward to this expansion pack much more than the others, and it was certainly worth the wait and the money.

What a pleasure watching my simlets jump into rain puddles, watching them throw on some windbreakers and..was that a bead of sweat running down Grandma's cheek after toiling over the tomato plants?
Just like in my bigger world, the joy of having leftovers to reheat without the occasional hassle of creating a new meal is p-r-i-c-e-l-e-s-s.It gives me a little elbow room in the having to call the grocers area..when I've depleted the bank account buying yet another big patch for the pool.
The flavor of realism is appreciated since SOME folks spend hours upon hours in Simville.
Simply put, I LOVE this expansion. If I'm not mistaken, when I look adoringly over my little simlets, I could almost swear I see the most expressive looks of gratitude..for the purchase that their big mama made.

I, as many other people have a n apple, so it's hard to find sims 2 stuff. I have Uni, Night Life, Buissness, pets, and Family fun is in the mail. I'm positive that Seasons will be one of the best.

I bought this game for a gift for a 15 year old girl. She loves it! In fact, her sister is twelve plays the game as well. The price was fair and shipping was very reasonable. I love Overstock.com. Never had a problem yet and I have spent alot with them over the years. I bought from clothes to rugs - great prices, great shipping, fast and no problems!

Just like all the other Sims, in my opinion, it is great. This is a must have addition for any Sims fan. It is great to see all the changing seasons and for once be able to determine when to celebrate the holidays or when a whole year has passed.

This is by far one of the best Expansion Packs for the Sims 2 ever made. Maxis did a fantastic job. I haven't experienced any bugs or glitches. The seasons are so real and at first I thought 5 days for each season was too short, but it's really not! I love how neighborhoods can be programmed to maintain one season only or have each season last as long as you want! Everything is amazing...from growing crops, to fishing, making snowmen, and plant sims! Absolutely fantastic!

I have all of the EPs and Stuff Packs for The Sims2! Yep, I'm a little obsessed with it all... With that in mind, I'd have to say that Seasons was, by far, the best EP that has been made, to date. It slowed down game time and brought a lot more realism to game play. Your Sims now have a thermometer that shows if they are overheated or cold (freezing). There is snow to play in the Winter, leaves to rake in the Fall, gardens to plant in Spring and Summer, and you can fish (just not in Winter when your lake is frozen over).
The changing seasons also affect your Sims' learning ability and relationships. For instance, relationships are built faster in Winter than the other seasons and during the Fall, your Sims get their homework/studying done quicker.
It's gonna be hard for EA to top this one!

The Sims 2 Seasons is probably the best expansion pack so far. In this expansion pack, there are many new features and activities such as gardening, fishing, ice skating, roller skating, and of course; your sims now get to experience all four seasons (winter, autumn, spring, summer). Each season lasts for five sim days, and eventually progresses into the next season. The expansion even allows you to design your own climate scheme. Basically, if you want, you can have Spring all year long! (well, all twenty days long). Or you can have spring for two seasons and winter for the other two seasons. There is even a whole new country-themed furniture and kitchen set which blends well with the feel that Seasons gives. I personally don't like the rooster-country wallpaper the expansion offers, but the kitchen sets are very nice.
-Gardening
One of the great things that Seasons offers are the various activities. Gardening is fun, but it's important to keep constant check on them or they can die

The first couple times I played around with the seasons I thought that I would get annoyed by the snow and rain, but then realized that some of my Sims have fun building snowmen, talking to the penguins, and raking leaves! The added wardrobe is great, with the winter coats, rain slickers, etc. adding a new, fashionable aspect of the game.
Planting was something I missed from the original Sims expansions so I'm trilled its back in this expansion pack. For very little price, I'm thrilled that the game has taken on a whole new, challenging level!

This is one great expansion pack for The Sims 2. Great idea of changing seasons...just like real life the season changes when it's time, not when you say!! Would recommend to anyone that plays The Sims 2.

Amazon priced this item one penny shy of the $25 mark to entice us cheapos to add another item and get free shipping. That is a good marketing strategy since this Seasons expansion is such a worthwhile title.
That said, The Sims 2: Seasons is what I would call a legitimate expansion pack for The Sims series. Unlike the Stuff Packs or some other expansion packs, Seasons really rounds out the series in my opinion.
Being a cheapo, I like spending $15 on a DVD that is 123 minutes as opposed to 93 - I feel I am getting my money's worth. Also, I like spending $25 for a Sims expansion pack where new career paths (and rewards) are added, lots of new items are included, and game concepts are added or upgraded.
The Sims 2 Seasons is legitimate in my opinion because it does just that: gives 6 more career paths (Adventure, Games, Law, Education, Music, and Journalism); new clothes (for each season, all ages) and items (like the Country decor theme); and new interactions, aspirations, and rewards.
