Need for Speed: The Run - Windows
Pros: choice of cars, storyline
Cons: gameplay, lockups, non-corresponding onscreen instructions
This game was fun. Up until arrving into Las Vegas in The Run portion of gameplay. Up to that point it was fun, entertaining and exciting given the improved graphics, sound and line-up of cars. I play on PC and would not recomend other buyers playing on this platform to buy this game. Reason being: the game was not ready for PC release. For example, having to press buttons on the keyboard that dont correspond to onscreeen intructions is frustrating. It also does not work to achieve the necessary actions a large majority of the time. And I am not the only user having this issue; I know of at least one other person having the identical problem. We have been unable to prgress beyond the arrest scene in Vegas. Furthermore playing in the challenge series is limited such that you reach a point where you can go no further as you need to win races in and beyond Vegas. Being at that point we can only race in rougly 15% of the races, racing against each others time. Because of this I rated it 1 out of 5. Had there been no problem with keystrokes in the 'cut-scenes' to open other gameplay would have necessitated higher ratings. The game also locked-up and or crashed more times than I can remember.

Need for Speed: The Run - Windows
Pros: Graphics are nice.
Cons: User interface is for a console machine.
this version of nfs doesn't play like the previous versions. Gone are such features as realistic driving (Plays like TDU2#. It took 3 installs #about 45 minutes EACH time# to get the game to even work #the DVD came with a digital download key instead of a DVD key#, and about 4 hours on the phone with Origin/EA tech support. After getting the game to even start I found out that although the DVD package says keyboard, driving wheel, or gamepad, it cannot be played without a gamepad! If you have no gamepad then you need to disconnect ALL game controllers to use just the keyboard. The UI is clean, and easy to navigate. Game load time is slow. The graphics are very nice. But the guys at EA were obviously only thinking of XBOX and PS3 players when they designed the game this time. End of the NFS franchise for the PC??? #PS - EA tech support ended up by telling me "Oh well" as far as my racing wheel not functioning correctly. Its a Sidewinder Precision Pro USB)
