CA 461 - portable speaker dock
I must admit: the first day I attempted to use this with my iPod Touch, I was ready to return it! But, I quickly learned it was operator error...I had not removed the iPod's skin before seating it in the dock. Let's just say after I figured that out, I couldn't be happier with the performance of this product! : ) I am currently using it in a 300-400 square feet office setting. I don't have to have the volume at maximum level for everyone in the office to enjoy the music. I'm not sure if it was mentioned in the product description, but several adapters come with the dock; this makes it compatible with many different iPod generations. This was a great find for me at a spectacular price!

Here are the issues: sound quality is awful. if you're device has wireless, there will be interference. If you enter the room with any device that has wireless, the dock will emit a horrible static and beeping sound. If your mobile device is in the hall, same will happen. The operation lights are blue and red. Which is on and which is off? I have to keep checking the manual. Most of the time, you have to jiggle your ipod in the dock to make the connection so that the device plays. We've had this dock for 8 months before it broke. Bad technology! I'm sure there's better out there.

I spent close to $500 on a Bose system. It's nice, but it's clearly not worth $400 more than this little gem. Easy to use, light, small and most important SOUNDS GREAT! I admit to being skeptical that such an inexpensive unit would be acceptable. I'm glad I risked it. This thing ROCKS! After using it for a day, I bought another one for my girlfriend. I'm considering making it my XMAS gift for several friends this year.

I used to be sporting a Chestnut Hill Sound George in my bathroom, but it took up too much counter space and was just overkill. My search for a smaller budget system led me to this little guy. I admired it's portability because it leaves a nice clean look and I don't have power cords running all over. Also, I was instantly surprised that sure a small unit could put out quality sound. I turn it up just enough to hear over the running shower, but not enough wake my brother in the next room. It produces very good high and mid sounds, you're never going to get good bass from something this small so don't expect it. I will say the sound quality diminishes at higher volumes, so this would not be ideal for a large family room or parties, but for a bedroom or bathroom it's perfect. A small note I would like to add (for owners of Energizer's Xpal): I actually sit in on top of an Energizer XP18000 Rechargeable Power Pack for Laptops which comes with an AC adapter that coincidentally fits into this dock. So I don't ever have to buy batteries! Infinite portability!

CA 461 - portable speaker dock
I usually do not mess with leaving reviews, but I was so impressed with this product that I thought it deserved one. We originally purchased this iPod dock to have a small set of speakers to play in the kitchen while we were cooking dinner and hanging out. When the package arrived, we were a little suspicious. It was so small and the speakers looked too small to put out any serious sound. I couldn't have been more wrong. The sound out of these little speakers is nothing short of amazing. I am a musician so I take my sound very seriously, and I would put this little dock up against anything out on the market. Low volumes, high volumes- doesn't matter. This thing puts out full, rich sound that we can hear all across the house. The sound clarity is great, even at louder volumes. I have heard the Bose systems and this dock sounds as good or better than speakers costing 3 times as much. We were so impressed with the sound that I immediately purchased a second set to keep at work so I could listen to music in my office. My wife is considering purchasing one for her office as well. The only negative is that I have found the iPod has to be sitting on the jack just right or it will not connect to the speakers. I have had this problem with every other dock I have owned so it may be my iPod and it is only a minor annoyance. Maybe the more expensive systems are better for this, but for the price and the money I saved, I will deal with it. Keep in mind that this is not a stereo system, so it will not sound like one, but for a small set of speakers to use in areas where you don't want to hassle with a huge stereo system (kitchen, out on the patio, in the office), this little monster is perfect. It also has a plug that lets you connect anything with an earphone jack. I have used this to run sound through it off of my laptop, and I plan to use the one at work to play internet radio in my office. I really enjoy having that flexibility. Bottom line- for $35, this speaker dock is a fantastic deal. You really don't have to spend a ton of money to get good sound.

This little stereo does it all. It charges my Ipod Touch and is very small to take anywhere. However the speakers can go really loud for the size, so I give this one a 5 out of 5.

I absolutely love these speakers! It's got such a big sound in such a compact body. I was surprised at how small it really is, and I was equally surprised at how good the sound quality is. It fills the room. I just wish it had a radio function, but for the price and quality, you really can't go wrong with it.

I hae two major complaints about this item. First, my Ipod Touch 2nd Generation did not fit in the adaptor very well. I had to push down very hard for it to work, but then it wouldn't stay seated if I let go. Second, the speaker sound was terrible. The volume wasn't very loud and the speakers sounded like they were blown. The only positive thing I have to say is that it was very easy to process the return through Amazon.

First time ordering a portable speaker, so din know wat to expect. In absolute terms, its bad. But then i have listened to JBL, Soundmagic, Bose, Apple, Klipsch, Creative, etc. So compared to them , its not gr8. But then, those are big and none are below 100$. This little thing here is just 27$, width thrice dat of my ipod touch, height 1.3-1.4 times th ipod, and about 2 inches thick, plus runs on AA batteries, which makes it extremely portable. So yes, its a pretty good deal. It comes with a lot of dock connectors, but finally, i used my apple dock connector only, it fits best. its pretty light, mostly wood i think, has decent sound quality, compared to all the tinny n metallic portable speakers i have heard. Sound is a bit too deep, soundstage is not dat gud, but the highs n mids are ok. dont expect a punchy bass n u will b ok.

I was initially impressed with the sound quality, but after a couple of days, it started making static noises. It would do it almost constantly when my ipod was in it, but it would also occasionally make the noises even without the ipod. Sometimes it would be a constant static noise, and others it would be occasional, but that occasional static noise was very loud. I had the correct adapter in it, so I know that wasn't the issue. A few weeks later, it would every now and then not play my music. I could hear it through my ipod, but not through the speakers. Now, a couple of months after my purchase, all it will do is charge my ipod. I cannot get any sound (except for the static) to come out of it at all.

I bought this for my wife to listen to her Ipod in the kitchen. She uses it all the time and likes the sound. Its not tremendously loud and not really hi fidelity, but its fine for a kitchen. She also likes the fact that it recharges her Ipod which was a hassle previously. The only drawback is that she has a cover on her Ipod to protect it if dropped or in her purse or...etc. The selection of mounts that are provided to adapt the Ipod to the dock does not allow for this slightly wider configuration. This forces her to take it off each time she docks it. She's not too happy about that. Other than that, its not bad value.

I wanted an inexpensive player and since reviews on this were great and so was the price, I decided to give it a shot. It's perfect. It sounds wonderful at middle volume, it has nice depth, and is completely non-tinny. when I really crank it the sound is not quite as good, but it goes pretty loud, too loud for my use anyway. I've heard others at around the same price and more, and this is really good. Charges both my ipod nano and classic and ... fast. Great buy!

Overall I am pleased with this purchase for a reasonable priced docking station with speakers. Works great with our various ipod models. The only challenge we have had with this product is distortion and static clicking noise when we are trying to steam music from sources like Pandora. It works great if we turn off the wifi on our iTouch. Also cannot place cell phone too close to machine or also get the static clicking. Other than that, this machine is a good value for the money with better than average sound.

If you're looking for an inexpensive simple speaker system to play your ipod you can't go wrong with this. Easy to use and sounds great playing in my office. For this purpose and for $27, it's a no brainer.
