Pros: ample power and good sound.
Cons: I wish audio/video lag adjustment was a bit more precise
I was looking for something at a mid level price point that had that capabilities I was searching for. I wanted to be able to convert analog signal to an HDMI output. This receiver fell in a much lower price point then anything else that had that feature, as well as being more powerful. While it has less HDMI inputs then some of the others, the price reflects is. I got this on Sale VIA BB online for 251$, a smoldering deal for something with these features. Ipod connectivity works well, although it didn't give great video quality to the video I watched from my ipod, I'll probably hook up my component cable for it instead. The User interphase is dated looking but works well so no complaints there... Its not a simple thing to dial in exactly as you want so keep the manual handy if your a perfectionist. I manually set my speakers up first and then ran the Auto setup and liked my manual settings better. I do find myself constantly adjusting the audio lag adjustment for every different type of source I am using. Including but not limited to, hulu, netflix, Blurays, Dish Network, and playing games on my Xbox 360 although that seems to have the least amount of lag audio wise. so until I find a happy medium that fits for everything, I just keep messing with it everytime I switch sources. switching from HDMI amp to passthrough is a breeze once you know where it is, which is a great feature as well. Overall I am pleased with this purchase, I'd do it again in an instant. The Sound quality is as good as you'd expect, even while running my very old small sony satellite speakers.
