Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters: PSP

So before I left for Iraq a month ago, my roommate bought a PS3. Along with it he picked up Tools of Destruction along with some other games. I loved watching him play the game. And it was so fun to watch him upgade new weapons and buy new weapons and find new armor. After he beat it, there was even MORE to do now. And I loved it! So I tried the game for maybe an hour from the beginning. Sadly it was the night before I left to come to the sandbox. Because I was HOOKED.

Really wanting to play the game now, I started to look on amazon to see if there was a Ratchet game for the PSP. YES! There was! So, now, I had to buy a PSP also. I went ahead and bought thePSP Daxter Entertainment Pack - Ice Silver and a few games, Burnout, Infected, and of course SIZE MATTERS!!

When the PSP came in (which was only about a week), it arrived with Burnout. I was loving it! Then two days later Ratchet shows up and I couldnt put it down for about a week straight (even though I beat it in about 7 or 8 playing

Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters is an absolutely outstanding game that truly represents the pinnacle of platforming titles. Having been a fan of the genre since the original Sonic the Hedgehog on the Sega Genesis, I've seen more than my share of titles. The rankings break out for Ratchet and Clank as such (all scores are out of five):

Graphics: 5
For the PSP, the developers did an excellent job of pushing the PSP to its graphical limit. The use of character models, animations, and textures are simply phenomenal. This is just shy of looking just like its PS2 cousin.

Sound: 5
The biggest boon for this game is the use of actual voice acting combined with clearly distinct sounds for each of the weapons. Everything sounds like it just fits and all in all ties together to create a believable atmosphere.

Value: 5
One of the best parts of this game is that you can continue to play it well after you beat the final boss. Not only this, but you can do so keeping all the weapons you've

I adore the Ratchet and Clank series. While Size Matters has some limitations - it is on the PSP after all, and not on the PS2 or PS3 - they do an admirable job of making it work on the smaller system.

It really helps to have played the original Ratchet and Clank games before you start this one. Many of the characters are from the other games, and you understand all of their relationships and backgrounds. Also, they sort of throw you into the game, assuming you'll understand how the multiple weapons, jumping, aiming and so forth is going to work.

On the other hand, people who have become addicted to the PS2 games (like I have) will quickly realize the "flaws" in the PSP version. That's not to say the game makers didn't try their very best to make the PSP version fun - it's just that the PS2 has a much bigger controller with many more buttons. They had to cut corners in order to provide the same gameplay on the PSP. It sort of works. The camera controls get really annoying at times, and

I was very excited like many for the introduction of Rachet and Clank for the PSP and couldnt wait untill it came out. Like anyone with a brand new game, I played it a lot the first couple of days trying to beat it a soon as possible. But, i soon realized the in no time I was one the last level in two days and I didnt spend every waking moment playing the game. This was a dissapointment because all the other games have been pretty indepth. I understand that it is for the PSP, but it seemed way to short of an adventure to me. Now on to other things, the grafics of the game were, I thought, good and still had the old Rachet and Clank that we knew in the old days. There were some glitches like any other games, but it can be anoying. The plot of the game seemed a little cheezy if you ask me but i made the best of it. In all, I like the game but was dissapointed because they made it look like a Big game and it wasnt. I would recomend to buy this game on sale instead of full price. Hpefully they

I love Ratchet and Clank. My husband got it for me and it's the first video game ever that I got hooked on, couldn't put it down, and have played all of them. I liked Psychonauts because it reminded me so much of Ratchet and Clank. R&C is my gold standard.

Size Matters sadly is lacking. The graphics, game, story line...all that is great. I hate the camera. I hate that I can't see what's behind me without effort. The controls are difficult. Run, R, L, and X at the same time to long jump? If I had four hands, that just might be easy...but I don't! And I don't have big man hands; holding the PSP isn't comfortable to begin with, so trying to hold four buttons is hard. A previous reviewer said the game made him dizzy; I didn't notice that at all, but I did find that holding the PSP and manipulating all the buttons made my hands hurt after awhile.

I hope another PS version comes out; I much prefer playing it on the PS2. This game is like a snack when I want a meal! Give me R&C

I'm suprised that no one else has mentioned how short this game is. I beat this game in just a few days. Although I think the game is great, I expected it to be much longer. Even though the game is short you can go through it again and beat it in challange mode. Which isn't that challanging( the whole game isn't that challanging) but you do get to keep your weapons and upgrades from the last time you played through the game. This means you can upgrade your weapons to there full potential during the second time through. Also during the second time through you can get the very final stage of weapons by buying them, so it is definetly worth playing twice. Also this game has decent online play to make it even more worth having.
