I purchased these from Amazon directly, and had to send the first pair back for a replacement pair. Great job AMAZON!!! I got my replacements before I even returned the first pair, without a double charge to my credit card, and all done "on line" with a free shipping label sent to me via email. The first pair had what looked like a string hanging down in the "right ocular". The main problem with these binoculars is that they have to be constantly re-focused when transitioning from one power to the next. I also own a pair of Nikon 10-22x50 variable binoculars. You don't have to do that with the Nikon's. These are good as back ups to keep in the truck, for general use spotting game, but I would never take/rely on them as my only set of binoculars for glassing for game on a serious/expensive hunt in the back woods. Also, the carrying case is kind of "cheesy" made of some kind of synthetic "fabric/canvas". These remind me of the first set of binoculars my Dad bought me for a Christmas Stocking Stuffer one year. They would make a nice set of "beginner binoculars" for a younger person...but they are just not up to professional standards for use by a serious minded sportsman. None the less, for $39 plus free shipping from Amazon you can't go wrong, but if I only had the money to spend on one pair of binoculars, I would save it and buy the Nikon brand.
