My wife uses this camera to take pictures for her business website. It is easy for her to use, or to pass off to someone else to take a picture of the work that she is doing. Picture quality is excellent.

I bought this camera in October for a trip that I am leaving for in 2 days. I used it once, just to try it out, and it seemed to work really well. Then, this week, I went to turn it on, and it wouldn't turn on. I recharged it, and nothing happened. Took it in to Best Buy and they said the camera was faulty (rather than the battery and the charger) and offered to ship it back to the manufacturer for $84. I would have declined this offer even if it HADN'T been far too late to get it back in time for my trip. I am not a very high-tech person, and don't require much from my cameras. I do, however, require that they turn on. If you require the same thing, don't buy this camera.

i have had this camera for not even a year. at first i loved it. i used it for everything. but now it wont even charge. i like the camera but now i cant even use it because it wont charge. its a waste of money!

I was a Canon-faithful user since my very first camera (6 cameras ago), but with some issues I've been having with Canon (more on that later if you're interested) I decided to try another brand. So I tried this one, and after 5 days of really trying to give this camera a chance, I couldn't deny it anymore. This camera was a huge waste of money -- even at only $79.99 (on sale -- not refurbished but brand-spanking new. I wouldn't have kept this camera if they gave it to me for free!

cute little camera and very cheap; took a few pics but they seemed not true to color; fiddled with the menu found the "great color" setting, that was much better, but really not that great; took the camera back, best buy was great, let me trade up to a fujifilm, still very cheap, which was fantastic! and works much better than the nikon

I love this camera, just point and shoot. It takes great quality photos and I do not have to adjust any sizes for posting on the Internet! What a great camera worth every penny and great reasonable price too! :)

I bought this for my daughter's 6th Bday present. Though they sell kid's cameras for around $30, I wanted something w/ a better quality lens, higher megapixels, more zoom, and at her request it needed to shoot video too. I also wanted a rechargable lithium ion battery since my son's digital camera uses AA batteries and it goes through them very quickly. So that led me to this Nikon. I bought the Coolpix S6000 last yr. - 3 generations up - so I knew mostly what I was getting. My daughter wished that it came in pink, which it doesn't. It has about 20 settings, which is nice, including image stabelization which is good for kids. Also, moving around the menu is easy w/ your thumb turning the dial.

This camera was great right out of the box. I previously owned a Nikon CoolPix. After 10 years of happily using it, it became possessed and started turning itself on and off, repeatedly. I really wanted another CoolPix, since I thought that my old one was so good and had served me for so long. I shopped around and found the S3100. I jumped when I saw the price and features. It's so easy that you could use it without doing any reading to discover everything else special that it can do. I don't understand the few negative reviewers' comments. This camera can't take a bad picture. I used it for photos for a business proposal, and everyone was so impressed with the pictures even when printed with a color laser printer on plain bond paper. It's fun and easy to take great pictures. It's such a good buy for a fantastic price. It's one of the best buys I've made all year.

my last camera was the fijifilm finepix, which stopped working after 8 years of intensive usage, many accidents, and harsh weather conditions, I took this out to take some pictures during the fair winter cold and it stopped working, so I had to turn it off each time I wanted to snap a picture. I expected more form nikon, maybe that is why it was on sale.

I have been using my phone as a camera for years. I wasn't sure if I wanted a camera or not. I wanted better quality pictures of our grandson and easy to download. Once I made the decision to purchase this camera, I realized I had waited too long.

I have owned many cameras used primarily for house photos. This one is the best by far due to the wide angle lens. Granted it is not perfect for super high quality photos, but for everyday use it beats every other camera I have had, even the much more expencive ones. I use them for taking hundreds of photos a week and usually kill a camera within 9-12 months due to hard use and adverse conditions. In the last 3 months I have taken 2500 photos with this one and it has not missed a beat. The other benefit is the USB charger. I can recharge with a wall outlet, laptop or even the outlet in the truck! No need for extra batteries!

I have owned a Kodak and Sony Cybershot in the past with great results. I purchased this camera last month to take on vacation. Unfortunately, the picture quality is so poor, none of the pictures were even worth printing. No matter how still you hold the camera, it creates blurry images of subjects who are not even moving. There is a long delay between actually taking the picture and seeing it on the LCD screen. Half the time you can't even be sure the picture was taken. The flash is also too bright, even in well-lighted areas. Overall very disappointed. I will be returning it tomorrow.

Any time I use the zoom the picture quality degrades significantly. I have a Sony with a 10 zoom and the picture quality is 100% better when I zoom, even to 10x, compared to zooming to even 2x on this camera. It does have the ability to add date and time picture was taken which is nearly impossible to find.

Overall a decent, cheap &quot;snap shot&quot; camera. However, after you takea picture, it takes 3 to 4 seconds to process and display, so forget taking quick pictures. This makes the camera almost undesireable.
