I purchased this amplifier to power two 10" subwoofer cubes in my home entertainment system. Wow! What a difference this made versus driving these subs with my Onkyo A/V receiver. Night and day. The amp is connected to the Onkyo A/V receiver's subwoofer output RCA plug so it doesn't need a cross-over. This amplifier is a solid piece of electronics - it's heavy due to the large toriod used for the power supply. The overall finish and look of the amp is beautiful, and it runs cool. You won't do wrong with this quality amp, plus Amazon had the best price beating the local electronics retailer by $160.

I recently replaced an old TV that had a built in amp that I used to drive external speakers. The new TV is a flat screen that has RCA line out but cannot directly drive speakers. I could hook the TV to a component audio system, but my goal was simplicity and automation. Basically I want to just turn on the TV and listen to the TV using my existing Bose speakers. This amp is perfect.
You hook the line out of the TV to the unit and the speakers to it and you are done. I chose this specifically because when I turn off the TV I want to have the amp turn off also. I do not want more remotes, I just want it automated.
The amp automatically turns itself on/off based on sensing if there is any activity on the line in. When you turn off the TV, the amp waits about 3 minutes and then turns itself off. When you turn on the TV it takes a few seconds for it to sense the sound and then turns itself back on.
This company that makes this amp offers several models, I chose this model since
