Pros: Connects to your wiimote
Cons: I guess $20.00 is a little pricy.
If you want to play SNES or N64 Virtual Console games, a Wii Classic Controller or GameCube controller is mandatory, due to the triggers. I bought this yesterday, because I wanted to play Super Mario World which I bought today. The controller cost me $20.00 at GameStop.
Before I bought it and took it out of the package, I thought the controller plugged into the Gamecube controller slots. To my surprise, it connects to your wiimote. So I like that it's somewhat wireless, it's a hell of a lot better than plugging it into the slots. (Which is one reason I'd want this instead of a GameCube controller.)
But the thing works as it should. It is basically the same thing as a Super Nintendo controller, but this has 2 analog sticks. You can use the left one for SNES games, but I'd rather use the arrow pad.
So overall, I like it. I guess I have to recommend buying it, as it is needed to play VC games. (Unless you have GameCube controllers, of course.)

For all the people saying that a wireless GameCube controller is a better purchase ... I'm wondering, have you tried Super Mario World with the GameCube controller yet?
It's unplayable. I have both and I tried to play 2-player SMW. The classic controller of course works perfectly, but the GameCube one is awful. Here's why: SMW requires you to do running jumps over pits. That means you hold Y and press B to jump. Y and B are right next to each other on the classic controller, but on the GameCube controller, there is an enormous A button almost directly between them. You have to bend your thumb at a weird angle to hit B and Y but not A, because if you hit A you will do a spin jump and probably fall in the pit.
So really, one of the best Virtual Console games out right now does not work well with the GameCube controller ... the classic controller is great and works well with all of the games. (That's what it was made for, you know)

This controller is a very nice quality peripheral, but playing most Wii games (outside of the old console downloads) you really aren't going to be able to use this at all. That in turn makes it useless, there needs to be some games that don't require motion, EA could even do a fresh port of BLACK and allow us to use this controller. This controller is a way to attract core gamers, if they gave us the option of playing FPS, and other mature games with it. Yes Wii is a family (room) system, so there is bound to be a hardcore gamer in the house probably pulling their hair out because they want a game that doesn't require them to sweat it up all the time to game hard. The upcoming Wii FPS "The Grinder" should give us the option of using a Wii Classic Controller. It would also be a perfect remote for fighting games too (CAPCOM, give us Street Fighter 4, if you can do Resident Evil 4 on the GameCube, you can give us Street Fighter 4 for the Wii, forget the WiiMote on that note). I don't even

If you like to download old games this controller will be very helpful, it work by plugging into your wireless controller so it acts as a wireless controller too, good buy.

We have one -- and really, one is all you need. Get the classic controller if you play a lot of Virtual console games or Gamecube games. Otherwise, the Wii Remote and nunchuck are superior, more fun to use and more suited to playing Wii games.
