This game is a great port over from the orignial. Everything works great. My only gripe about it is the directioal pad is a little bit more difficult than the joy stick the original control had on the N64. It takes a little getting used to, but its nothing that detracts from the game play. The new levels and the use of the new characters are great.

I recieved A nitendo DS for Chirstmas from my husband, because I Thought that it would be fun to take on trips with me in the car. This was the first game a bought. I thought it was great! It was the perfect game for a person like myself who just doesn't catch on to the more difficult hand held games like PSP, I totally say get it, if you like easy fun, not the difficult brain jerker stuff, these youngsters prefer!

When Super Mario 64 came out on the Nintendo 64, the control style was great, with the anolog stick controlling Mario was a snap. Now you control Mario, Yoshi, Luigi, or Wario with the Control Pad, Stylus, Finger/Thumb, or Thumb Strap. Most of the controls are pretty bad, and you'll just stick with the Control Pad, which is unfortunately the best control type of them all. Adding 3 new characters, and 30 new stars is new. However, most of the "New" stars are just extra stars in a level (1 extra for each level) and very few new stages. Some things in the levels are changed from the original, with the creators trying to make the game easier then the original. I greatly like that idea, since the controls are sort of hard to control.
