HP Photosmart Premium Fax All-in-One Color Inkjet Printer
Hewlett Packard
- CQ521A#B1H
Pros: Its big
Cons: Everything else
I bought this printer a while ago and it has been nothing but a headache. The driver install wasn't a problem and everything worked fine for a while. Then it decided it didn't like being a wireless printer and despite many hours spent trouble shooting and looking on the technical support websites, this problem has not been resolved. So I now plug it into my computer.<br />It also gives me errors telling me the usb plugged into it is wrong. I have reloaded the drivers and done several resets on the printer and this error will still pop up constantly.<br />The flatbed scanner works fine. The feeder on top is a nightmare. It constantly destroys things I try and scan, as well as tilting half of the things it scans. The software that comes with it for scanning is pretty useless as well.<br />Over all, I would not recommend this product be used by human beings, unless it is a gift to someone you truly hate.

Pros: Everything so far is great with this printer...
Cons: Only complaint, does use ink rather quickly...
I have owned this printer since Sept. 8th 2011. The initial set up of the printer was very easy. If you can read and follow instructions then you should have no problem setting up the printer. Now with that being said, setting up the wireless networking can be a bit tricky if you don't know that much about how wireless networking works, with the different types of security settings that your modem/router has. But given some patience, you can work it out and get it connected without alot of hassle.

Pros: Great size and features
Cons: Short print head life and heavy ink consumption
I purchased this printer last year right before Christmas. It was a new model. It's now two weeks post 1 year warranty and print head for black ink has died. It was a decent printer but for $299 I think that it would have lasted more than a year. Also this think drinks ink so its cheaper to send your pictures out for printing then to use this printer. I have owned other HP printers in the past and all have had problems with the print head.

Purchased this as an upgrade to previous HP all-in-one. Was told to go with the Photosmart vs the OfficeJet since we print more photos, so prior to purchasing knew the output for mass office printing would not be up to that of an OfficeJet. Exellent photos. Great that the photo tray not only holds 4x6 but also 5x7 photo paper. Used it for scanning, faxing, printing photos and documents with wireless from several computers. No problems. ****Only hitch: When printing from Adobe Photoshop it prompted a fax. You have to change the name of the FAX driver in your control panel i.e. change to "Photosmart Fax". The name for the driver for printer and fax are very close to Adobe cannot tell the difference****

Pros: Not much
Cons: To long to list here!
I have had this printer for just over 1 year and paid $299. Also bought 2-year service agreement ($29) at time of purchase. This printer is not at all living up to expectations;<br />- It is slow<br />- After first (automatic) HP software update, several functions stoped working properly and slowed using it down. Scanning only worked from desktop.<br />- It eats ink like there is no tomorrow.<br />- And finally, now the wireless broke down (Error: Remove USB device = shot).

Pros: Speed and qualityof prints.
Cons: Printer goes off line occasionally,
I purchased this all in one printer as a replacement for an older HP all in one printer. The print and scan quality is first rate, and it performs both functions quickly. The only problem I've noticed is that the printer seems to go off line, and I can only resolve the issue by re-starting my computer. I'm not sure if it's the printer, or my PC at this point, so I'll not fault HP for this problem just yet. This printer is definately worth the price.

Pros: the price wasn't bad but guess i got what i paid for
Cons: most all aspects of what i expect to be good
i use this for business primarily. this is the first Best Buy review I have done, and couldn't wait to do it as all the glowing reviews are FAR from what i am experiencing. First, the ink cartridges go so fast, and i really don't do that much printing and rarely in color. the scanner software is a bit slow, and i do scans daily. The print quality is lacking, and does not always properly print, and not sure why not. i have to print headers on some pages and after printing i have to wait for the machine to reset before i can re-feed a page for additional print. I would not recommend this printer, choose another one. i wish i could sell this to one of the folks that have given glowing reports here on the review pages for this printer.

Pros: pints great pics and easy to use
Cons: slow warm up
love the printer. prints great pictures. the only fault i found is that when the printer is left on, the first time you want to print something, the warm up time is long. once the printer warms up, printing is very fast. features are great. the fax will recognize an incoming fax if your home phone and fax number is the same. the control panel is easy to understand and use.

Pros: The cost, print quality, ease of installation
Cons: So far, nothing
Installed very nicely, especially the wireless connection. Friends and family can print to printer from smartphones or emailed pictures. So far very pleased with the printer.
...
Pros: Everything
Cons: n/a
I love this printer I can printe from anywhere as long as I have a common internet connection between the computer and printer. LOVE IT! Reasonable price.

Pros: Great photo colors, wireless and has fax, scan, copy
Cons: seems all good...
This is best printer ever. It has wireless and with HP ePrint you can just send an email with attachments and it will print the photo or document (it's easy to set up an email address for the printer (you can control who can send the printer emails). Does beautiful photos - great color. I used the HP 4x6 advanced photo paper. Very easy set up and can fax, copy and scan. Everythiing is very high quality. Must be noted I just returned an HP 8500A as it had replaceable print heads and I could not get those aligned. This printer has fixed print heads and they self align. Great. You do have 5 ink cartridges but so far the ink usage seems very low for all I've printed already. I also like the document feeder so nice when you have more than one page to copy. The wireless set up went smooth as it had the WPS function so I just pushed button on router to configure everything. Very nice machine.

Pros: Easy setup
Cons: Fails to print properly.
I really question the quality of this particular model. I have had other HP printers, including photosmart, and none have had problems. With this one, the first one I bought was returned in a week. It would preview from the glass, but not print. The cause was that the automatic paper feed would never disengage. 2nd printer lasted 3 days. Would print clearly, then by end of day the black would either intermittently print or not print at all until print heads were recleaned. This happend 2 days straight. Now have 3rd printer. If this one goes, the C410 goes for good.

Pros: Cloud/E-Printing from the Internet; Great Photo quality; Software works with Win7;
Cons: No cd/dvd print feature (back to sticky labels)
The HP Photosmart Premium C410 works as well as you expect a $300 type printer to work. Great photo quality and just enough features to be useful. HP software installed perfectly on Windows 7. I had a little problem installing the HP Software on Vista, but it eventually installed. The printer is almost identical to my old HP Photosmart Premium C309. My wife really misses the cd/dvd printer feature as she used it all the time and now its gone. I am very happily with the Cloud/e-printer feature that allows me to print from my Android devices from the cloud to this printer. I love the fact I can use my spare 564 ink from my old printer. ***I had no problem copying from the flatbed with this C410 printer or my old C309, as the user from San Jose states.

Pros: Nice features.
Cons: Wont't operate on OSX 10.7 (Lion)
If you are running Lion on your Mac DON'T BUY THIS PRINTER!!!!!<br />They do not have drivers to operate it. If you try to print from iPhoto you get only grey scale and horizontal streaks. Best Buy geeks said must be a faulty printer so I swapped it out....WRONG!!!! If they don't come up with drivers for OSX 10.7.1 (Lion) before my 45 day return comes up it's going back and I'll find something that is compatible with Lion. Main reason I bought it was for air-print. It prints from Photos on my iPad2 just fine.
...
Pros: Prints 2-sided and high quality photos.
Cons: Lacks software to create photo pages.
I like this new printer, photos printed were really nice. The only thing I'm not happy with is the lack of software to create photo pages like I had with my first HP printer (2170) and was able to use on my 6300 printer.
