Nikon D3100 14.2MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens
Pros: User friendly, excellent quality. Works fast with viewfinder.
Cons: Slow focus in Liveview. Auto iso only in 2 modes.
This camera is by far the best I have ever owned. It has a powerful built in flash and in full auto mode it will take a telephoto flash photo at 50 feet. The kit lens works well for macro and wide angle and I also have a 55-200mm lens that gives a great photo with or without a flash. Also have a 50mm Nikon lens for low light and it works really well too. But forget about using it in Live view. Live view works too slow.

Nikon D3100 14.2MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens
Pros: easy to use, has all the auto modes one could ask for, as well as manual control, when needed.
Cons: The included zoom lens is slow, and older lenses don't play well with the camera.
Overall, I love this camera for its size and ease of use, but mostly for the great images it makes. Just wish it had a better zoom. The flash is surprisingly versatile.

Nikon D3100 14.2MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens
Pros: Takes good quality pictures
Cons: If flash is turned on, shutter speed is drastically reduced
I decided to get a DSLR camera because I wanted something that had quick shutter speed so I can capture all my kids special moments.
I was a little disappointed with this camera. I had high hopes because of all the great reviews.

Nikon D3100 14.2MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens
Pros: Easy to use and great for my professional work
Cons: After a year the pictures get grainy and it starts acting up
The camera is great I am absolutely satisfied with it, HOWEVER, I am not satisfied with the Best Buy Protection Plan that I bought along with it. I came in on Nov 4th to get my camera fixed and they said it would take a maximum of 2 weeks to get it back... Well it is now Nov 27th and I still do not have it... I use this camera daily because my job is a professional photographer... Not having my camera is making me lose a lot of money. So my suggestion is if it takes this long to get a camera back even with their warranty then don't get it, just use the warranty that came with the product. This is ridiculous!

Nikon D3100 14.2MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens
Pros: It can be point and shoot, some automated settings for certain situations or manual settings to your liking..
Cons: It met all my expectations for cameras in the class/price range. I don't feel limited by this camera, batt life is good.
I bought this for my wife for Christmas 2009 and we both love it. My brother in law got my sister one and my dad got my mom one. My wife photographs little league baseball, cross country, basketball, volleyball and wrestling. She has done engagement and wedding pictures. We do a lot of events and share on Facebook so people can see their kids, people love and expect great pictures from us. I do night photography and landscape photos. I love the lens that came with it and use it for all of my night shots, I got some great northern lights and star pictures as well as moon rise and moon setting pictures. We got the 55-300mm lens, it is great for outdoors and good lighting. The speedlite SB900 lets you do some indoor shooting with that lens but needs constant tweaking for different distances. We finally got a Sigma 50-155 with a 2.8 aperture and don't even use a flash for events anymore. The flash let us do some great Senior portraits, great bounce flash. No complaints or problems with this camera. The pictures I included with this review were shot with the 18-55 kit lens.

Nikon D3100 14.2MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens
Pros: Excellent camera from day one in auto mode right up to that perfect portrait.
Cons: I haven't found that yet
If you are looking for a camera to start out learning photography then the D3100 is your camera. Perfect photos in auto mode as well in all the manual modes. Nikon has built a great camera at a great price.

Nikon D3100 14.2MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens
Pros: The quality of pictures!
Cons: Could be easier to figure out!
This is my first DSL camera. I was a little afraid of cameras where I had to change the lenses out, but this one is great. I took the advice of the store employee and upgraded to this over a CoolPIX camera and I'm glad I did. The pictures are awesome! It's a little confusing to remember what settings to use, but with time, I am getting that down. I love this camera and am glad I made the purchase!

Nikon D3100 14.2MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens
Pros: Easy to set up, not as expensive as other DSLR's with same quality
I did a ton a research before purchasing my first DSLR camera. I kept coming back to the Nikon D3100, and the package deal at that because you save a lot of money by purchasing it this way. I love how easy it is to use and the amazing pictures it takes. Definitely read the manual front to back so that you know how to use all the modes and how to capture all those awesome shots! I love this camera and I'd definitely purchase another down the road.

Nikon D3100 14.2MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens
Pros: Price was good
Cons: Did not like picture quality
I thought the picture quality should have been much better for a Nikon. The pictures were washed out, poor color. I assume I could play with settings and get better but did not feel I should have to. Returned item and researched a little better, ended up buying a higher end Canon.

Nikon D3100 14.2MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens
Pros: Enough controls so that an experienced photographer is not sissapoint and auto is great for in a hurry
MY wife and I were Nikon film cameras users for many years this is an excellent camera for anyone who wants more control over their photos than a point and shoot camera provides, The built-in flash is good for most fill and a more powerful flash can be attached.

Nikon D3100 14.2MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens
Pros: Great pictures
Cons: Nothing yet
Previously I have always used point and shoot cameras however I felt it was time to try something new. Having no idea how to use dslr cameras at first I was a little worried I was over my head. However using the auto mode makes my pictures look like a professional took them! I love this camea and look forward to learing more about all the features, my only regret is that I didn't purchase the other lenses to go with the camera!

Nikon D3100 14.2MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens
Pros: Relatively easy to use
Cons: Low megapixel level
Haven't gotten to use it much yet. I recommend the DVD that Best Buy sells for the 3100 to help a beginner learn to use the camera to get the most out of it. Was disappointed with the quality of photos due to the low level of megapixels for a DSLR, but the price difference made it more available than a higher level camera. I think when I have learned all there is to learn about the 3100, I will get a camera with more megapixels to improve the quality of the photos. Being a Reward Zone member definitely made this purchase possible with their 18 month no interest plan. Otherwise I couldn't have afforded it. Would have liked to know more about lens availability. Wasn't aware they were so expensive. Would like to have more.

Nikon D3100 14.2MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens
Pros: Always highest quality photos with any SLR Nikon camera.
Cons: The display screen on the back of the camera is low res so it makes you think the photos you took are fuzzy.
As with just about any Nikon SLR camera the photos are always top notch. My only real complaint is that the display screen on the back of the camera is low res so it makes you think the photos you took are fuzzy when you look at them. I understand the back display screen if mainly for a quick view of a photo taken, but the low res makes you second guess your shot and makes you want to take the picture again, only to find that when you view the photos in photo software on your computer that they all are fine.
A very good camera for the average photographer for just about any need, but not for a studio pro photographer who will need to rely on the display screen to see if they cought the proper shot.
Generally a very good camera, if made with a higher res display screen on back it could be a great camera.
