Misleading

This product is portrayed as a set of two phones in the photos. It is not and is misleading. There is a photo of just one phone on the search result page for Northwestern Phones as well at this photo of two. Why are they advertising it as two? The angels are not different enough for the purpose of showing different views.

Great for people who have bad hearing and slightly bad eyesight

I ordered this phone for my parents because the numbers looked big. When I got the phone in the mail I was surprised because the picture does this phone no justice. The numbers are in fact big and the screen whenever a call comes in is easy to read. My father no longer has to get off the couch anymore to read the caller id. It's real good for screening calls because now its easier to ignore 1-800 numbers because we can see the caller id from feet away. I must admit though just last week the Astrix button fell off, granted we don't use that button I still wish that the phone was not 6 months old because I would have returned it. Other then that I still love this phone. The sound and the ringing is loud..did I mention it vibrates?

Terrible phone!

I pruchased this phone in January, 1008. It is now March, 2008 and the phone is unusable. First, I really liked the large numbers and the lighted antenna and numbers. Then, the numbers only lighted up partially and the dialing seemed slow. When I used the speakerphone it worked for about half a minute and then the volume went so low I couldn't hear it (no, I don't have hearing problems). The speakerphone function was spotty at best. The battery life seemed very short, even if we had not talked on it much and when I put it in the base to charge it wouldn't make contact without a lot of repositioning. Last night I was talking on the just-charged phone and it began to beep and there was so much static I had to switch to a different phone. When I pressed the button to hang it up, it wouldn't hang up. It remained on with the loud static and I had to finally unplug both the telephone line and the electrical feed. Even after that the thing kept beeping and making noise. It's trash!

Not as Expected

My mom, who has macular degeneration and cannot see well, had a hard time seeing the numbers and display. The blue backlight makes it difficult to see. I had to return the phones.

Good Deal

I bought this phone for my mother because she was having trouble seeing the caller id and pressing a couple buttons when dialing on regular phones. This one is just what the doctor ordered. The buttons are large and the caller id display is readable to her now. Very good reception and clarity. I would defineately recommend this phone to anyone. I'm thinking I may get one for myself now!

deceiving ad

As far as the product goes I have no problem with the phone.
It has worked fine.
My complaint is with amazon and the deceiving ad they have.
The picture of the item shows 2 phone's.
After receiving only one phone i contacted amazon.
There comment was not our problem.
They would not do anything at all to satisfy the customer which was me.
They tried to put the blame on the retailer who I purchased it from.
I tried to explain to them they were the one's who controlled the
pictures they have posted.
They would hear of it still would not take responsibility for their
screw up and they still have not changed the pictures in the ad.

Pricey but Excellent Phone

This one is wonderful for those who need a large LCD Display. I too have looked everywhere and finally found it here! The display ad is a little deceiving because it shows 2 phones together as if you get 2 but you only get 1. Still an excellent phone!

The product was exactly as described, met my needs perfectly, price was reasonable, delivery time was fantastic. I must've shopped at least 8 or 10 stores on foot - nobody had what I needed. I guess nobody else thinks of the elderly trying to use a cordless phone with those teeny-tiny little buttons. The buttons are also light-up, marked very boldly, and they have braille. Also the entire unit is larger than your average cordless unit - very comfortable and secure in an older, arthritic hand. It also vibrates and lights up very nearly like a pinball machine when it rings - all excellent qualities for an older person. Great product!
