Having just read some of the reviews, the majority of us chose 5 Stars for this product and ease of use as excellent. The others, I have no idea what the problem is. Did you buy something and not ask the salesperson to help you with it? When that was not done, read the instructions. Having owned a Garmin Nuvi 205W, this looks like a wide screen HDTV compared to the 205 which we still use almost everyday. I love the read out and talking voices. Yes, some street addresses are funny, especially our French names. Set up was done, out in the open, at a motorcycle rally! I ride my Harley with the 1300 and can hear "her" voice pretty clearly. However, the voice is stressed a little on high volume but you can still read the data. All the other complaints are trivial and all I can say is "operator error." How can you compare a Tom Tom to a Garmin???? Go to Tommy Tom, don't but a Garmin and leave that purchase to someone who can open a product right out of the box and be on their way. Those that complained about the routes need to read the instructions or go to the boards. If you can't do either, buy a map. I find nothing wrong with this 1300 LM and If I can hear it, read it and observe it on a moving motorcycle and still watch out for people looking at their Tommy Toms, then this is the Garmin for you. Did I mention lifetime FREE MAPS

Used it to go back home from store brand new it kept wanting to head toward the highway because it was set to fastest route. Easy to enter addresses nice sound loud enough to hear it nice brightness and was easy to update map. So far I like it, only thing is there does not seem to be a fast way to get to the menu have to keep clicking the back button to get to menu.

I felt this was the "best buy" for a GPS. It is inexpensive and I've owned a Garmin before when I didn't have lifetime map updates and it was out of date fast.

This was my first GPS. I am working our of town for a while. WOW, what a wonderful tool. I punch in an address, location or business name and it has taken me right where I wanted to go. Even when I know where I am going, I have it on for the speedometer. Its much easier to read and also has direction along with several other options.<br />Won't be without one.

I bought the Garmin nüvi 1300LM GPS this past December as a Christmas present to myself. I found it very easy to use and it did a great job getting me to where I wanted to go over the holidays. The one thing that I really like about it is that you don't have to worry about looking at written directions or a map while you're driving. This is really nice when it's dark outside or for those that depend on readers. This little &quot;toy&quot; goes with me every time I go some place that I'm not familiar with. What's not so great? Some of the street pronunciations are kinda strange, but it's entertaining. I would definitely recommend this to family and friends.

This is our family’s first GPS and we absolutely love it. Best Buy’s price was the lowest I could find (better than amazon) and with free updates I couldn’t say no. The unit feels solid but not heavy. It is very easy to use and has yet to make a mistake. My children have named it Ally and my wife has lost her job as navigator. Jealousy aside, she is also very pleased. Great purchase.

I have had other Garmins, and this latest model provides a few nice refinements -- such as a detour button that changes the route if the one it programmed is not exactly how you want to go.

Product is excellent. Very easy to use. Clear and bright picture. Text to speach is so easy to follow. Warns you of turns in ample time to adjust to lanes of traffic,

After I registered the machine and downloaded all the maps, which took a long time, I couldn't get it to find satellites. I fiddled with every possible setting and finally found something called &quot;safe mode&quot; which I turned off and up popped the satelites. My husband had already driven 150 miles through NYC before I got it to work. Then the voice Jill could not pronounce streets correctly. Once I found Voice Jack, everything worked beautifully.

Chose this model because of lifetime MAP updates. Good price. The screen is easy to read, the instructions are clearly spoken. The Garmin is idiot proof! (My husband can use it, too.)

Finally settled on this GPS and couldn't be happier. It is so easy to use, well made, clear to see, easy to understand. What a fine feature with the lifetime maps!

Having used a high-end Garmin GPS for many years, I was surprised to see the 1300LM available for $130 with lifetime maps. Maps can cost $60-80 to upgrade. I can highly recommend this unit, however, beware of the 1300LMT, which comes with traffic, but does not speak street names on turns. A small complaint is the thin quality of sound. If the 1300LM ever goes on sale, buy it!

I got this for my mother thinking it would be so easy for her to use and since I've been trying to show her I've had nothing but problems. It won't recognize my current location. I need to mess with it a bit more but haven't had the time. It does NOT come with a power cord so I can't even play with it in my house, I have to sit in my cold car and do it.

I've never used a GPS before, but found it very easy to set up and begin using. The maps are accurate and when a turn is missed or I decide to go a differnt way it quickly recalulates and accurately. The screen is big enough without being too big. I thing anything bigger would be overkill and take up too much room on the windshield. It's easy to update online and the lifetime maps was the final selling point on this product as well as every salesperson I talked to guided me to Garmin products. The Costco salesperson told they get a high return rate with TomTom products.

My daughter needed to use my Garmin and some how ened up keeping it. It was a 1350T. So I went looking for a good Garmin but something that didn't cost as much. Found this one and it had life time maps, Just like my 1350T it was a snap to set up and download the latest upgrades and maps. My very first GPS was a Tom Tom. It was good, but the sucktion cup didn't work and the GPS keep falling off the windshield. I tried a bean bag and I didn't like that. I then tried an after market vent holder and sucktion cup, still didn't like the setup. So my next GPS was the 1350T. Great sucktion to the windshield with the cup, plus I didn't have to dish out more money for after makret attachments. Don't get me wrong, the Tom Tom was a good GPS. Plus the Tom Tom was a 3.5 inch screen and the Garmin is a 4.5. That made a big difference to me. Another plus a week after I bought the GPS BB had the same GPS $20 cheaper. Called BB and within a week I had a $20 credit. This has happened before and BB has always come through. Great price and even better if you find it on sale.
