Cyber Acoustics Silver OEM USB Headset/Mic
Pros: Clear Reception, Durable, Easy Controls
I use the product for Skype, Rosetta Stone, and Dragon Speak. I also use it for just listening to Webcasts and Music. I have had very little luck using the tradition headphone with dual jacks, but no problems with this unit. Outstanding product and value.

We have purchased about 25 of these for a call center with softphones. These perform well and sound great, plus have that essential inline mute and volume control. This is something not usually found in the less expensive headsets. As others have stated, the stereo version is a little tight on your head. A low-temp heat gun around the top of the headband fixes that in less than 10 seconds. We had a single new headset that did not work, but it had sat in the package for about 2 months untested. Amazon would not return it after that long, but did give me the phone number to Cyber Acoustics. A real human being answered the phone and they immediately shipped me a replacement free of charge. It is so very unusual to be able to call a company and simply communicate with them, much less to get a no-hassle response. I will continue to purchase their products and FYI, we have not had a single unit go bad on us. They get HEAVILY used every day and hold up to quite a bit of abuse. If the call center agents do ever break them some day (they tend to toss them around a lot), they are cheap enough to not worry about.

I got these to support an evaluation of several video conferencing system. They were on the "preferred" list of one of the vendors and that, combinded witht the reviews, made me feel this would be a good value. Turns out for me it wasn't. On the plus side, in an electronicaly clean environment, the sound quality in both directions is pretty good. Also, the cord is *very* long. This probably contributed to the hum I'm about to describe. In an office setting these things pick up unbearable hum. Other people in the conference insisted that my audio stay muted until I used a different headset. I did, an inexpensive LabTec, and the hum disappeared. The other problem, for me, was this is the most uncomfortable headset I've ever worn. You can adjust how far the earpieces extend but not the tention they put on your head. On top of that the cushons are an odd shape; they don't cover your ears. They just sit on top and slip around. I would return them except "work" paid for them, they are not entirely worthless, and somebody may be able to use them. As for me, I'm going to try a different headset.

Just started using the headphones today. The sound is great and the headset is easily adjustable.

WOULD NOT SUGGEST THESE. I had a pair of these from walmart that was similar to these but not a usb, arrived broken straight out of the box i plugged it in once and it worked then wouldent turn on when i plugged it in computer wouldn't recognize it anything. If you can afford it i would suggest getting the Razer Carcharias Gaming Headset (Black) that's what I went with I also wrote a review on them very good quality style and almost everything you could imagine in a dream set.

This headset fits well, and the adjustable boom is good for both right and left ear. Seems quite solid in its construction overall. I have had some problems being heard though. Sound quality coming in is great, however sometimes when i am talking it will just not pick me up. Not sure if this is a defect in the mic or if this is just a problem that this product has sometimes. Adjusting it doesn't help, sometimes the only way to fix the problem is to shutdown my computer and hope that it works when I turn it back on. This is very frustrating when I am having conversations on skype with people. The mic will work for hours straight then just drop off suddenly. There is no real rhyme to its madness. If this didn't happen I would have no problem with this product at all.

I'd love to give a full review of the usability and quality of the product. Unfortunately, the durability of the headphones (or lack thereof) prevented me from doing so. Upon stretching the headphones after first taking them out of the box, the band broke near one of the earpieces and rendered the headphones useless. I hope others have better luck with them, but I ended up buying a different brand instead; I didn't want to risk another break!
