Yamaha RX-V567BL 7.1 Channel Home Theater Receiver (OLD VERSION)
Pros: Long list of features
Cons: none
My first Yamaha and I am very surprised. I have always had Sony for the last 3 units over the years. Always work perfect and gave them away. I was hooked on the automatic surround adjustment for this price range. This is not a super high powered unit, but we have hi quality speakers, JBL's, and are not pushing through bottom end speakers. Separation and sound is very good. Set up was in the minutes. Remote control is very easy to use. For this price you can't go wrong. Buy One

Yamaha RX-V567BL 7.1 Channel Home Theater Receiver (OLD VERSION)
Pros: Great value for the 3D Feature and works very well!
Cons: 3D set up was a frustrating experience
I bought this receiver to pair with my Klipsch Speakers (VF-36's,VC-25, andR-1650-C's) and 3D Sony TV (KDL60NX810). The basic setup was easy and it had all of the HDMI and component outputs I wanted and then some. The sounds is amazing, the YPAO autotuner was a great feature to calibrate the speakers based on the acoustics of my room.

Yamaha RX-V567BL 7.1 Channel Home Theater Receiver (OLD VERSION)
Pros: Great Sound Quality
Overheats after half an hour at half volume and shuts off. Have video processing problem with Sony BDP S570 and often flickers a green screen. The sound is great, but not worth the disappointing problems at 2 months old. Yamaha offers nothing [...]

Yamaha RX-V567BL 7.1 Channel Home Theater Receiver (OLD VERSION)
Pros: easy set up, sound quality
Cons: Not 3D ready as advertised
Purchased the receiver to replace an Onkyo. I wanted a 3D ready unit to go with the 3D TV and 3D player. The setup was easy, but would not pass through the 3D signal. Called Yamaha and the said a firmware upgrade was needed. Good luck with that since there is no USB or Internet connection on the unit. I expected more from Yamaha. Do not buy this unit if you want 3D. I am returning the unit

Yamaha RX-V567BL 7.1 Channel Home Theater Receiver (OLD VERSION)
I needed the extra input for the multiple zone system, so far everything is great. Menus are easy to find and use. Have not tried the tuner, but I have satelite tv, dvd, xbox, wii, leapster, and sonos all hooked up and working fine.

Yamaha RX-V567BL 7.1 Channel Home Theater Receiver (OLD VERSION)
Pros: Good Sound
Cons: Set up
I Purchased the Yamaha RX-V567BL 7.1 Ch AV reciever and the Klipsch Quintet with the 350W Powered subwoofer as a package (%230 doiscount for the package). The reciever set up was not easy, but with work you can get it done. I have been impressed with the audio and over all performance. Also, the automatic speaker calibration using the supplied microphone was nice. As I said earlier, the set up is not easy and some of the it5ems (Like switching audio channels) I found usin the troubleshooting guide versus the set up. All in all, I would recomend the system.

Yamaha RX-V567BL 7.1 Channel Home Theater Receiver (OLD VERSION)
Pros: Great features, sound, speak setup
Cons: Handshaking... VERY MINOR
This is a great sounding receiver. Spent weeks researching, driving back and forth to BB a dozen times and listening to dozens of receivers. Unless you have super sonic hearing and can hear things no one else can, no one receiver sounds exponentially better than the other. It really comes down to user interface and features.
I went with this guy because the features suited my needs: plenty of HDMI inputs, 7.1 compatibility, 1080p up-scaling, acoustic room speaker setup device (really easy to setup).
I'm know that there are other receivers with the same specs, but the Yamaha name did push me to go with them, had them before and will probably continue to be a Yamaha owner.

Yamaha RX-V567BL 7.1 Channel Home Theater Receiver (OLD VERSION)
I recently setup a surround sound system for my parents. I got the Yamaha RX-V567BL as a bundle through Amazon with a Klipsch HD 500 surround sound speaker package. I was more interested in the Klipsch speakers than the receiver, but since they would need one anyway, getting the Yamaha for basically free was a deal you can't pass up. I personally prefer Denon receivers, but have also had Pioneer and Sony ones in the past. I would rate this one pretty comparable to the Sony or the Pioneer. After setting it up it was pretty clear to me that Yamaha has designed this receiver to appeal to the average user. The setup is fast and straight forward, and it is easy for my parents to navigate. I had their full home theater system setup in about 1.5 hours including running the audio setup for the speakers. Yamaha had a pretty easy automated setup system for the speakers using the included microphone. I did do a little fine tuning of the speakers after the automated setup, but overall it did a decent job. I hooked up their DVD player and DishNetwork DVR to the receiver using Digital Optical Audio cables and used the HDMI monitor port to pass the video of HDMI, component and composite (RCA) devices to the TV. The upcovert of analog composite signals was a nice feature. I cranked the system pretty hard after setup to make sure the system didn't over heat and turn off like some receivers have done to me in the past. I was pretty impressed that it seemed to hold it's own. My parents don't have a 3D TV so I can't rate the quality of 3D pass through of the receiver. Overall, this turned out to be a great receiver. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to setup a basic home theater system. Best of all, my parents absolutely love it!

Yamaha RX-V567BL 7.1 Channel Home Theater Receiver (OLD VERSION)
Pros: Great intro receiver with powerful HD sound.
Cons: Absolutely nothing.
I basically went from a Harmon Kardon that wasn't capable of decoding the HD formats I wanted such as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-MA but this is a very nice intro level receiver. Pass through works beautifully as I have all 4 HDMI slots being used with all my theater gear. I paired the receiver with KIipsch Quintets and a Klipsch 450 watt sub. Its a great pair with any of Klipsch's products as you get crystal clear HD sound with the HD decoders and you can feel the action going on with the Klipsch sub. On screen display is very useful and simplified but still full of customizable options so you can fine tweek your theater to your liking. There is also a calibration option to fine tune your theater to the acoustics of your listening room. All in all a great buy and I cant recommend it enough.

Yamaha RX-V567BL 7.1 Channel Home Theater Receiver (OLD VERSION)
I have owned this receiver for about one week. Sorry to say I did not buy it from Amazon. The only complaint I have is that there is no manual. I believe I downloaded it from Yamahas web site, but not sure. All I know is I made a printed copy of it and it was worth every drop of ink to print it out. I am waiting for my wife to stop watching the TV so I can use the enclosed microphone to adjust the 7.1 speakers. It looks real easy in the manual. Of all the receivers I have owned over the years, this by far the esayest to set up. For some reason, every time I take an old amp or receiver out of service and try to set it back up, something happens and some of the inputs, and some of them will not work. So I am buying a second Yamaha receiver so both of my receivers will be the same. This receiver has a feature for adjusting the audio and video sync. From reading the manual, the audio arrives at the TV before the video. You can adjust the sync speed up to 230 mlsec. I have not found the feature yet, but it is there. The sound from this receiver is fantastic. I love good sound with my movies and this receiver really delivers. More than enough power for my use. I suppose that if you have a large movie room you might need a little more power, but my rooms for using this receiver are no more than 25'x15'.

Yamaha RX-V567BL 7.1 Channel Home Theater Receiver (OLD VERSION)
It took a while to get a working copy of the firmware upgrade installed (have to download wav file and create audio CD for this). I finally slowed my burn speed down to 8x to get it going; so got the firmware updated and tried 3D again. Still getting split screen (appears to be identical screens on both left & right half of my new Bravia 55" 3D. If I run the cable direct to the TV, works great, but when I run it via the RX-V567, no dice... Waiting on reply from tech support... Funny how you need a firmware upgrade on a box bought the end of August (and today is 9/2). Guess they had it at the store in stock for quite a while...

Yamaha RX-V567BL 7.1 Channel Home Theater Receiver (OLD VERSION)
Pros: Everything buy 3d passthrough
Cons: Needing problematic firmware update to enable 3d capability
Pros: It has great features and sound. Minus one major feature, it was ready to go out of the box and works excellent with our home theater system. We really like the sound it puts out matched with our Klipsch speakers.

Yamaha RX-V567BL 7.1 Channel Home Theater Receiver (OLD VERSION)
Pros: Good Power Output, Good Remote Control, Great Sound Quality
I wanted to upgrade my HT system so I bought this. But when I plugged in the PS3 via the HDMI to the yamaha receiver, the video on the yamaha would flicker on and off every now and then. Switched HDMI cables and does the same thing. I googled PS3 and seems like theres some sort of hand shake problem. Meaning that the PS3 is unable to communicate with the receiver through the HDMI. Tried my directv to the yamaha's HDMI and it works.

Not sure who's at fault here, Sony's or Yamaha's??? But there is nothing physically wrong with the Yamaha's HDMI's. Because I plugged in directv's and it works fine. It just wont work with the PS3, I mean it does, but the video flickers from time to time

Other than that, This is a great sounding receiver. I have by passed yamaha's HDMI inputs and went straight to the TV. and I outputted the audio to the yamaha's optical input, which works fine.

Everything else I love about the yamaha. It sounds bright and warm.

Yamaha RX-V567BL 7.1 Channel Home Theater Receiver (OLD VERSION)
This is my second Yamaha receiver and the last one cost almost twice as much. Yamaha has been a reliable brand that has never disappointed me and after having an Onkyo, won't ever stray again. More than enough power unless you are in a seriously designed for home theatre customized room. Easy to use and pure clean sound for a great price! I don't have an ipod yet but will be getting one and already found the dock to control it for less than $60 on Amazon. Can't wait to get this into the equation. HDMI automatically can detect new signals and switch by itself which is a very nice feature. Whether you are looking at just getting into home theatre for the first time or have been into it for years you will be very happy with the results of this model.
