Ti-Nspire Cas with Touchpad
Texas Instruments

This is a great calculator, whether you are preparing for an AP calculus exam or you just need a sophisticated calculator this is what you are looking for. It is a bit expensive but if you are planning on doing high level mathematics then it is definitely worth it. If you do not need some of the more advanced functions I would recommend a less high tech calculator like the TI-83 or TI-84 just because they cost less. I love mine, it makes math class so much easier. It was a bit hard to get used to after using a TI-83 for such a long time but I am getting more proficient at using it and it now saves me a large amount of time on things like math homework.

This is the best calculator I've ever had. It's easy to carry around, easy to handle and most of all it's easy to use. If you already own a TI- nSpire and your disappointed you should really get this calculator. The only down side to getting it that of 11/4/10 its illegal to use the Nspire CAS of the SAT and ACT tests because of how much it can do for you.

Australian experience: This calculator was sold as a package deal. Included in the package was a "bonus" copy of TI Nspire CAS Student Software for PC/Mac. This sounded great (and was the deciding factor for the purchase) until I had the unfortunate situation of having to reinstall Windows 7 and of course the TI Nspire CAS Student Software. This is where I encountered a major issue: the software requires activation; first you input the product code and then you're required to connect your Nspire handheld via USB so the activation server can verify the handheld's serial on the ROM and after this will download a activation key. Sounds easy enough, HOWEVER, the problem I found was that it appears to be a "one-off" activation - try reinstalling and attempting to reactivate results in failure and a "contact TI for help" message. I would give this software no stars but one is the minimum. My advice: purchase a copy of Microsoft Math

This thing is bad ass, but takes time to get used to. As a mechanical engineering student (c/o 2010) I use my calculator in almost every class I have and so far the only calculator that comes close to this is the Ti-89! Symbolic math, as written operations, and clean matrices on one screen along with an intuitive graphing feature easily makes this the best call so far for advanced studies. I was the first to bring this on campus, but since then I've seen several students rocking this calc in my engineering classes. Ti knocked another one out of the park with this one.

This handheld should not be listed as a calculator, it is way more than that. I have not figured out all the things that it can do but if you are a student and need a graphing calculator you won't be disappointed.

I'm sure there are teachers who love the nSpire, but I am not one of them. I have gone to workshops and sessions at conferences, and I even purchased the newest model (CAS with touchpad), but I don't get why it should replace the TI-89. It seems they are trying to provide a computer-like experience on a calculator, but to me, it only takes longer and is unsatisfying. The touchpad is tricky (and not as reliable as one on a laptop). If I want a computer-like experience, I'll use a computer! All of the important features (differentiate, integrate, functions, etc.) are several layers below, in menus, so everything takes more keystrokes. The graphics are good, but that alone is not enough to get me to bite.

My son begged for this calculator once he learned about it from his high school math teacher. We found it here for about $50 less than everywhere else. He loves it. He can solve any problem in his calculus class with it. It graphs very well, too. His school allows this type of calculator, but it might be wise to check before buying. I like that it helps him check his answers, but I caution that this device does not show the steps involved in solving the equation. Of course, I understand the attraction of a calculator that does all the work. He will most likely used this throughout college, too.

This product seemed a little expensive especially getting it for my 13 year old daughter who needs one for her math class. But I must say, it's worth every dollar!

This product was new, and in great shape as usually packaged. Works grt, and can do everything needed for a calc.

Il est arrivé dans des bonnes condition mais avec un peu de retard (a cause de la douane). J'ai du payer environ 60 euro pour des taxes de douane (je ne savais pas de ces frais supplémentaires!)
