Pros: They look neat?
Cons: Everything. They sound worse than a tribe of constipated wookies.
They look neat and set up is easier then finding a Wookie something to eat, but they were genuinely PAINFUL to use. I had mine plugged in for about five minutes (no joke) before I could not take it any more and shut the whole computer down. The sound was abysmal. The speakers were returned within a few hours of my purchasing them.

I'm not surprised that the used ones are going for a marginal difference from a new one, because it is a pretty decent pair of speakers. You can listen to a good range of sounds I'm not audiophilic, but here are my points of view Cons The volume control is fixed to the speaker and the wheel is really small, so that can get a bit annoying as you have to feel your way though. Sub woofer may be a tad small, but not too much of a concern. No Bass control, which is very surprising. Pros It's a Sony. Money well invested in a product that will last as compared to the others. Decent range of sounds Very Affordable speakers (~$40) for a 2.1 system Looks good

I don't like the volume "wheel" - it's too flush with the side of the speaker, so adjusting the sound is difficult. The sound quality is good and I've purchased Sony products before and trust the name; it's the stupid volume adjustment wheel that ruins the product.

These speakers were an affordable upgrade to my computer speakers and are used for that purpose only. With the Media Player equalizer, I have been able to obtain a very nice sound, nice highs, nice bass. Not too much, not too little. No, it's not Bose quality sound, but I wasn't expecting that for $40. It sounds very good to me and my family up to 50% volume levels. I do not adjust the volume on the speaker itself, as warned by a previous review, so its permanently set at about 40%. By using the volume adjust on the computer, I have eliminated that wear and tear concern posted by that review. Using the EQ on the computer, the speakers are pretty capable of reproducing most ranges, especially for $40. I have no complaints. Package was shipped ground, but I received it in 2 business days, in new condition as advertised.

As a recording artist and music enthusiast, I would definitely recommend these speakers to anybody who wants to have a genuine listening experience. I just got 'em and they've been nothing short of great. Not to mention they're dirt cheap at $35.
