The Legend of Zelda is one of my favorite video game franchises of all time. So one should expect that I would be singing praises up and down for the latest entry to arrive on the Nintendo Wii system, right? Well... yeah, pretty much.
While every Zelda game to date has been a hit in my book, I haven't been truly blown away ever since Ocarina of Time first hit the Nintendo 64. I had high expectations for Wind Waker when it first arrived on Gamecube, and although it was an enjoyable game, it just didn't meet the high standards that were set by its previous entries. However, that all changed on November 19, 2006 when both the Nintendo Wii and the new Legend of Zelda released simultaneously. Like a kid on Christmas morning I hooked everything up the moment I got home and was launched into a role-playing haven to the likes of which I've never seen.
You start the game off slow in a small village that Link calls his home. Here you are introduced to the game, its characters, and everyone's favorite

Pros: Great scenery, Fun gameplay, Huge world, Interesting Story, Good Puzzles
Cons: No voice acting, Gamecube Graphics, Aiming slightly out of sync
This game is amazing. I came in with high hopes and was not disappointed in the least. I played through every inch of the game and took my time finding everything. As a result it took me about 50 hours to finish it. Now that's a nice long adventure. The environments are beautiful and almost surreal in some cases. Despite the fact that it uses Gamecube graphics it still looks better than many Wii games. They just focused so much on the details that it really doesn't matter that it was originally made for Gamecube. Now something that really surprised me here was the story. In the past I've been more impressed with the Zelda worlds than the story, but in thie case it's a toss up. Both were impressive. They did a great job of integrating the story into the gameplay with the twilight and the wolf form. While it may be somewhat predictable, the ending doesn't disappoint. It's well worth your time.
The gameplay is very intuitive and comfortable. You won't get tired slashing

[Note: Except for about 30 minutes of Legend on my sister's Game Boy a couple years ago, I have not played Zelda in about 20 years. I only played the first 2 on the NES.]
I just got the game 2 days ago but I'm having a lot of fun. It took some time getting used to how to play it since I got it when I got my Wii and was new to everything. I also felt a little bleh about some of the opening stuff but Once I got into the game and got the handle of how to do things I started having a blast. There are also many nostalgic moments from the original Zelda.
Without spoiling too much, getting the first sword and then the boomerang were "Oooooh I remember these" moments. Then there's certain things you do a certain way, just like you did in the original The Legend of Zelda that are fun. There are also familiar locations and some familiar faces. Well, not the faces since it's much more advanced graphics, but "I remember that monster!" moments. I'm loving the game not just for the gameplay (a mixture

My brother had gotten this for me for my Birthday. It was the first Wii game I had gotten. I loved it !! :) It was just a very fun game. I loved the way everything looked too.. so beautiful.. It just made me want to jump into the screen! Link can fish, blow up walls, and blow up things under water with special bombs.
I especially loved the dungeons.
I know I didn't complete the game and get every secret 100% ( because there is this girl who is obsessed with bugs and she wants you to find her bugs, and I couldn't find all of them ).
There are a lot of side quests too! Like finding the Souls, or finding bugs, the hearts for life, etc.
There is a fortune teller who will help you either find more hearts, or figure out where you're going if you get confused in the game.
You can even fish!!
( I really did love this game! )

Wow...so let me start by letting you know that I am your average almost 40 'soccer mom' and my favorite game series is Fatal Frame. (I also really like to watch my hubby play Final Fantasy X.)
Got the Wii and rented Zelda knowing I would hate it, but thought the kids would like it...I ended up running to Walmart and plunking down the crazy $50 for this game. I loved the graphics, the story, and the easy play. Wait...let me explain that...I am very easily discouraged from games that are too hard or frustrating. (Haunting Ground kind of kicked my butt) Zelda is not too hard without being too easy. Yay!
When hubby is playing Final Fantasy he is bombarded with my screaming "TREASURE!!!" and used to joke that someone could make millions off me if they made a game dedicated to just finding treasure....and Zelda is chalk full of 'em!! Blades of grass...chop it for treasure! Rocks? Pick 'em up for treasure! Trees? Yup...roll into them for treasure!! I am in heaven....EXCEPT, my stinking

All these five star reviews seem to completely lack objectivity. Everyone keeps saying it's amazing and is the best Zelda ever. This just isn't true. First of all, amazing compared to what? GTA, Final Fantasy, or Shenmue? The game has midi music, no live voices, average graphics, and an unrealistically small overworld with 1-3 street towns, forests without any trees in your way. Is this "amazing" compared to a whole state with three cities composed of dozens of blocs, hundreds of people and vehicles, like in GTA: San Andreas? This game pales in video game standards compared to even Shenmue I, Final Fantasy X, and GTA 3 which came out 5-6 years before it.
Futhermore, the game seems to ignore most of the progress the Zelda franchise made since LttP. LttP had 12 dungeons, 4 swords, 3 shields, 20 items, and magic power with lots of spells. TP only has 8.5 dungeons, 2 swords, 2 shields, 12 items, and no magic at all. Ocarina introduced integration of a musical instrument to the gameplay. This

I've played every major Zelda game (where Link has to battle Ganon), and this game is the best Zelda game I ever played! What I liked about the game was that the dungeons were awesome, the boss fights were so much fun, and the side quests in this game were great. Sure Midna gets a little annoying, but she grew on me. What I liked about the game the best was the overall game play for the Wii (easy to adjust too), the great story line (I felt like I was in a long movie), and that the programers made improvements on what worked, and got rid of the aspects that did not (I'm so glad they got rid of the cartoon type style they had in Wind Walker). That being said, this game has a darker storyline and can be kind of complex, parents, I would suggest getting this for a kid that has a lot of patience and a long attention span.

I personally enjoyed this game. I am 25/F and fairly new to any gaming. I dont like 1st person shooters and I enjoy a little story with my action. Zelda provides me with the hours of entertainment that I was looking for.
I really enjoy the controller motions, it makes the game more interactive and keeps me from getting to bored with it (like I normally do with video games). I have read a lot of bad reviews and agree that this game is definatly not for the seasoned veteran. These people can find a billion and one reasons that you shouldnt play it, like the graphics, but I personally arent expecting my weekend entertainment to be in HD! Gimme a break, who cares if its fun. Anyway, if you like an RPG game and want something to make the extra hours melt away, this may be the game for you. Also, kids or novice gamers should really enjoyable without being too difficult!

Controls:
Another strong selling point for Twilight Princess is its appealing control system, made possible by the motion-sensing capabilities of the Nintendo Wii controller. Twilight Princess was a launch title for the Wii, meaning that it was available with the system when it first went on sale. As one of the first games to utilize the Wii's new controller, Twilight Princess certainly does an admirable job. Link's actual movement is controlled via the analog stick on the Nunchuck attachment, while swordplay and the use of other weapons is accomplished through the Wiimote. When the player swings the Wiimote, Link swings his sword onscreen. A slight disappointment for many players is that, while you can perform certain specific attacks with specific hand movements, there is no one-to-one swordplay: the way you swing your Wiimote does not impact the way Link swings his sword. On the whole, however, this more physical way of controlling action is extremely immersive. Many players, at integral

My biggest complaint about TP is that it's waaaaaay too easy. It seems like it was designed with preschoolers in mind. Most of the puzzles were simple to figure out (most of the time, simple in a good way. Sometimes simple in a bad way). The bosses are also fairly predictable, though there were a couple that took me a minute or two to figure out how to hit their weak point. I began thinking about what made it all so predictable, and then I realized it: it was because I've done all this crap before. My first Zelda was OoT and since then I have played every Zelda that has come out on Gameboy and GC. I now know without even thinking that if there's a gigantic boss with a huge eye, it's pretty obvious what its weak point is. Nintendo needs to mix things up a bit with the next installment. Make it seem like the boss' eyes are the weak point, but they're really not.
The level design is absolutely amazing, as with all Zelda games. A couple of the items seem like they were just thrown

First, my credentials. I dabbled with Zelda a little bit while it was on the NES, but at my young age I found the puzzles too challenging. I enjoyed the hack and slash, but mostly preferred the linear Mario series due to its less emphasis on riddles. I likewise dabbled with Link to a Past, but never got anywhere near the end.
Then comes Ocarina of Time. By this time, I had gotten older and my brain had developed a bit more - so my mind was ready for the riddles (didn't stop the Water Temple for taking up the better half of the year though (: ). From there on out, I was a Zelda fan for life.
After Majora's Mask and the Wind Waker (only other Zelda games I've beaten after OOT) I can only say that this is the best so far. While the game itself isn't nearly as groundbreaking as OOT was, the plot is more sophisticated, the characters are much more developed, the graphics are cooler, the geography is more expansive - on the whole it is just plain better.
I couldn't help but feel as though

This is an awesome game. I have literally spent hours in front of it playing it. You get to become a wolf and move and act like one too. Very fun. Graphics are great, you won't be able to put it down. You want to know what comes next, and next, and next! Way to go Wii.

Pros:
+ Perfect controls, very satisfying combat
+ Classic Zelda gameplay in full force - awesomely clever puzzles and dungeons
+ Boss fights are very cool and original
+ Beautiful graphics and art style
+ Nice sound effects and voices
Cons:
- Boss fights are WAY too easy
- The game doesn't seem to beat you up much at any point; again, too easy
- A disappointing lack of anything to do outside the main quest
- Lacks the "magic" that Ocarina of Time had... feels less epic
- Not much to come back to after beating the game
