After looking at many different computer mice, I decided to buy this one. Another candidate was the Logitech V450 Nano Cordless Laser Mouse, but I already had a wireless mouse in the past and didn't like the idea of having to change batteries. So I ruled out any wireless mice. This mouse from Microsoft is comfortable and satisfies my needs, but there are two things that could definitely be improved (and which cost it two stars). 1. The scroll wheel. Even after configuring it, it is not comfortable to alternate quick and one-line-at-a-time scrolling through long documents. In this respect, the Logitech mouse seems to perform much better. 2. The two extra buttons on each side. While they are useful and highly configurable, the one you have to click with your ring finger is not really easy to click. (However, it makes the layout of the buttons symmetrical, and therefore accessible to both left- and right-handed users.) I chose this mouse because it has a tilt wheel too, which is used only for horizontal scrolling. It would be much more useful if it could be used to navigate web pages back and forth. Finally, for the tilt wheel to work and to configure the buttons, you have to download and install a piece of software for Microsoft. If you use the mouse on different computers, it's not just "plug & play," but "plug, install, configure & play."
