PC - Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas 2.0
I found a new copy of this at my local retailer for $10 and decided to pick it up. I had played Vice City and GTA III a couple of times on my friend's systems and consoles. In San Andreas, missions are fun, but sometimes they seem unnecessary and tedious. Other drivers seem to hit you and swerve into your path unnecessarily, but that's why you have a gun. The free roaming aspect is as nice as ever, but the cop AI is hit or miss. The mouse control is so much sweeter than analog sticks for aiming. The relatively few types of people get repetitive, and draw distance is too short even at maximum.

A couple of points:
This game will tax a fairly nice modern system at 1080i resolution with all effects enabled, but 720p or lower is piece of cake.
This game DOES RUN on Windows XP PRO 64-bit! This is a big deal, even Apple no longer supports xp64 with iTunes.

This game is a steal at its current price, and it will help tide me over while I wait for 4 to hit PC.

I love the non-linear playing of this game. I find it a great stress reliever in so much as I can be a criminal without actually having to be a criminal...I wouldn't recommend this game for the younger set though, as it has some language and quite a bit of violence...it IS after all Grand Theft Auto, I would leave this decision to the parents though, after all, every young person IS different in their level of maturity.

Machinema porn didn't really seem to make it worth the extra cost to get the original version so I opted to buy the version of GTA that lets kids of all ages carjack a ride to mow down pedestrians without triggering widespread outcry from fundamentalists and prudes. I'm just that cheap.

Even though this is the "special" version 2.0 of GTA San Andreas, there is still lots of fun to be had without seeing the privates of a polygonal mapped video game character. You can still use cheat codes to hook yourself up with a number of cars, change the environments physics, or get a variety of guns/enhancements for engaging in widespread carnage wholly unrelated to the game. Of course you could also just play the game and beat it which will come in very handy when, later in life, you recollect how your time could have been better spent in youth or adult-hood.

As for me...I played the game itself until I unlocked all the areas I could access which I actually considered to be a chore. Once that was
