Using this in an apartment, about 20 feet from the base station (no walls) and under Vista it worked great. Did a fresh install of Windows 7, which recognized it and installed it. The connection will be on a few minutes and off a few minutes. I tried downloading the official drivers from Netgear and 'hard removing" the built-in drivers and installing the Netgear official drivers. Same problem. Used the Netgear Wireless utility instead of the built-in windows one: same problem. Different USB ports: same problem. Went and installed a PCI USB card and tried on that: still spotty connection. I even re-flashed the BIOS on the motherboard.

My built in wifi crashed. Rather than spending $100 + to have it repaired, I purchased this adapter. It has performed well and have not had any wireless connectivity issues.

I got it and right off the bat had problems, i used the cd it came with to install drivers, and still had problems finally i acted like my network was hidden even tho it is not and for some reason that got it to work,, it worked for a few days and now im back at square one and am about to return it. I am very good with computers and have looked all over the internet for solutions and nothing, it only cost about 20ish, my advice spend and exstra 5 10 bucks and get a different one the one my dad has has been great for a few year i think lynks made his

I had previously bought other brands (e.g. Belkin, etc) and seems like there was always some type of configuration issue, tweak, or technical issue that I had to make to get the NIC to work, if I could get it working at all.

I looked at a few different products. I picked the Netgear name and this product had a great price as well. It worked right out of the box with simple instructions even a computer novice could follow.

My wife and I moved our computer to the upper floor of our split level home. Unfortunately, we were unable to move the router so I needed something that could connect wirelessly to our router, which was staying on the lower floor.

Really like my Netgear wireless adaptor. Previously had a Belkin plugged into front of computer and it broke when computer was bumped. This one seems to have a stronger signal and has a cradle on top of the desk to sit in. No worries about bumping it.

I installed it on an older computer that had Win XP and only 384MB of RAM. Set up was good (considering it's Win XP) but the speed was very slow. I upgraded the RAM to the motherboard's max of 1.5GB and it loads pages at a more tolerable rate. The WiFi connection has been very reliable. I use this on a desktop in my basement. The wireless router is in my living room the next floor above me. I recommend it.

I bought this adapter to go wireless with my desktop. It has performed flawlessly and I would recommend it to anyone that wants wireless compatibility with a good connection speed.

Very easy to install. Have not had problems. I am not a computer savvy person but had no problems installing. Just put the installation disc in the cd reader and it explained everything.

Looked at a few others. Price put this one in the cart and name...plugged it into the USB port after loading the CB...blue light came on...hit the main box...BINGO we're done...so far works great...

My only advise is to use the windows driver on the installation disk, not the setup wizard. I do not like the netgear software. Windows driver works very well with this product. Just choose the "Windows stand alone driver" which is option 2 on the setup disk and all will be well Works well with XP and above.

My computer went nuts when I installed this. I had all kinds of problems as soon as it was installed. Files did not work right. My computer would get a blue screen, and I'd have to reboot. The printer wouldn't work with it either. When I hard wired the computer back to the router, I had no more problems.

This is very easy to use and to install. I sometimes have a hard time keeping connection during bad weather. For the most part it works quite well for us. This is the second one we have purchased for two different desk tops.

I got tired of having an ethernet cable runnig across the room to my desktop, so I picked up this WiFi adapter. Though it's only about 10-15' away from the router, I get a perfect signal with no discernible loss of speed (I'm still running at 15 MB/s). Totally happy with this purchase.
