Incredible amount of memory in such a small lightweight device! The case itself is a sturdy metal shell so its built to last. I love it so much I plan on buying a second one! My ONLY gripe with the product is that I wish the usb cord was just a little bit longer. Otherwise its an all around solid investment!

This is a great product, BUT the setup software not only did not run as advertise, its stalled. A very helpful response from tech support arrived within 24 hours (by email) that solved the problem, and we were off and running. Luckily I was not pressed for time.<br ><br >Otherwise I like the drive for its size, its design and its large (500Gig) capacity

I use this drive to store movies for playback on Apple TV; we currently have 164 movies stored on it it and it's small size and attractive design make it perfect for our use.

I got this external hard drive 2 months ago and it is already useless. It worked flawlessly for the first month and I was very happy with it, however, about a month ago my laptop would not recognize it after I connected it. After reformatting everything it began to work okay again and then two weeks later I have the same problem but this time it the reformat did not work. I am working on my thesis and thought that this would be a good way to backup all of my data in case I lost something off of my laptop. I now have an external hard drive that I cannot retrieve any files off of. I will never purchase something from this company again.

I wanted a true portable drive; no plug-in power source was my primary consideration; it has worked as advertised. Slower, obviously, as a USB connection, but not unreasonable.

Small discreet drive. Looks good, works as expected of a circa 2010 USB external drive. Well built. Time will tell if the Hard Drive holds up. Perhaps the only con is the aluminium casing while it looks very nice, is not smooth like a high end audio component.. just a bit rough to the touch, but then I do not expect much more at this pricepoint.

Upon product installation, instructions stated to click on &quot;Setup Assistant.&quot; &quot;Setup Assistant&quot; did not exist, and setup was NOT intuitive. LaCie technical support was partially helpful in confirming proper installation, but experience was unnerving.

&quot;Rikiki&quot; means tiny in French. If you need to bring it around with you everyday, this is gonna be your best choice. Not only smaller than WD, but also more durable for the case is metal-made. Stylish and a good buy!
