Warcraft III Battle Chest

this is my first truely fun rts and its still an older game but still really fun to play
iv played wow but couldnt get into it, i got into this and im not a big rts fan
this game is a definite buy if you want to get a good priced pc rts

People still play it!!!!!!!!!!!
i am hoping for a wc4
the campain is awsome and playing on battlenet ,and
tornements is great too
this is just a great package for all who want a good solid rts

Warcraft III Battle Chest

Let me just summarize my review to those of you who would rather not skim through paragraphs of text: Warcraft III is one of the greatest games ever made, and I feel honored to have spent YEARS playing it! Oh, and yes, I still play it constantly to this very day. There's so many reasons to buy such an amazing game like Warcraft III. The campaign is deep, well-written, and the voice talent is just superb. Not only do you guide amazing and iconic characters through an intricately woven plot, but you quickly feel empathy for them as you continue to play. On top of that, the musical score is perfectly fitting! It's both epic and , honestly, hard to get out of your head once you've played the game a good while. The campaign mode is like a roller coaster ride. It starts off nice and easy for beginners, slowly coasting you to the peak of the event.. Before long, you're launched into the game proper. At this point, you'll begin to encounter challenges that are scaled perfectly to how well the

game has trained you to be. The further in you get, the less the game helps you along - for some games that can be a major stumbling block, but Blizzard has mastered the art of gradual immersion... Okay, I should move on before I lose sight of the rest of the game! Now on to the multiplayer! Long story short, it's incredible. The multiplayer experience works flawlessly, with balanced races and very diverse heroes to choose from. In addition, the expansion - as well as a patch update to the game - adds more heroes to the group. Oh, I nearly forgot to mention! Blizzard's staff has put together some truly extraordinary patches that further balance the game, as well as add more to it! Okay, back to multiplayer. Essentially there's two modes you can play in: local area network and Battle.net, the free online play service provided by Blizzard. In addition, Blizzard includes a Map Editor with the game installation. This editor feature is so deep and varied, the possibilities are endless. In fact, I've played thousands of different maps made by users on Battle.net! So, in summary, you can either play the amazing RTS experience against strangers, friends, or computer AI, or you can explore the vast expanse of custom-made maps online! The last thing I'd like to add is a note on modification. Blizzard, being the open-minded and generous folks that they are, allow their users to make custom heroes, add custom skins and models, and even write their own coding for triggers! This further deepens the ability to do literally anything. In the mood to play a futuristic zombie survival map, but you want to play as a space marine? Sure thing! Are you looking to play a game in which teams of powerful heroes duke it out for supremacy? Those games and many more await you on Battle.net! All you have to do is order the game and enjoy! My apologies to those of you who were at all bored during that lengthy review, but as you can tell there's so much to talk about! Warcraft III will always hold a special place in my heart, and I honestly believe I'll still play it for years and years to come. Warcraft III Battle Chest

I was getting pretty worn out from playing WoW, so I decided to grab this to see how "the" world of Warcraft started. It was cool to see A LOT of familiar characters, locations, mobs, etc. It's a different game, being an RTS. Definitely not as full as others, like Command and Conquer. But, the story-telling keeps it interesting. However, I think Blizzard makes their games simple enough for anyone to pick up and play, with the enough content to keep it challenging.

The premise to WoW

Warcraft III Battle Chest

To start with, I'm a player of the old school Warcraft and Warcraft II. I haven't been into RTS games in a few years, so I skipped this title and went straight to World of Warcraft.

While WoW didn't seem like the Azeroth setting I was used to, I adjusted and kept playing. Then I learned that Warcraft III was essentially the premise to WoW. So, I decided to pick up this battlechest.

I learned a lot about the "new" Warcraft universe from this game. It tells the story of Illidan (WoW: Burning Crusade) and Arthas (WoW: Wrath of the Lich King), and explains a few other races and factions.

As for fun value, it was alright. For me, it served its purpose of explaining the storyline up to WoW and its expansion packs. I like how distinct each faction is with units and buildings. That was a nice touch.

The gameplay is solid. Very few glitches, and I didn't notice any bugs or exploits. Quite polished, really, but that's normal for Blizzard standards.

Four words: Defence of the ancients. Not only is it an amazing UMS map that pits 5 players vs another 5 but no two games are similar. Everytime you get a new challenge and a totally new game. Replay value? This one has tons of it
