TP-LINK Ultimate Wireless N Gigabit Router - TL-WR1043ND
Pros: It's list of features on paper
Cons: Hangs up the internet regularly
I use this in my home with two laptops, 1 desktop along with about 4 smartphones. From time to time I may set up the ftp to accept files from friends or vice versa. What I find is if there is prolonged data transmission the router hangs and drops all connections. It takes a manual reboot to bring it back online.

Pros: Easy To Set Up, Fast, Fast Connection Speed, Reliable connection, Secure Connection
I have owned lots of wireless routers before but this one beats any of them by far, especially on connectivity and signal strength and reliability aspects

TP-LINK Ultimate Wireless N Gigabit Router - TL-WR1043ND
I just got my TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND Ultimate Wireless N Gigabit Router, and I love it. Configuration for my medium complex SOHO network was just easy. I try to use all my WiFi devices (3), and everything work smooth. I hope I will have a chance soon to watch some HD video over this link. Thanks to Amazon and TP-Link !!!

TP-LINK Ultimate Wireless N Gigabit Router - TL-WR1043ND
I was looking for a high-end dual-band router like the D-Link DIR-825. But after seeing the great reviews and low price for the TP-LINK I decided to take the risk with an unknown brand. At half the price and better reviews it seemed too good to be true. Setup could not have been easier-- I disconnected my old D-Link "G" router and plugged in the TP-Link. Without installing the SW or following the setup instructions I could see and connect to TP-Link and had wireless internet service on my Windows 7 based notebook. If you don't care about security your done (although I recommend updating the firmware). To setup security you can use one of two easy methods. Connect to the router by typing the routers IP address in your internet web browser (i.e. Internet Explorer) and follow the guick setup instruction or by using the provided mini-DVD. Either method is simple; just follow the setup instructions and in a few minutes you'll have security. I selected WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK, input my password and reconnected with my notebook using the password and the secure network was up and running. I have an older notebook with Vista and it occasionally has a minor problem in connecting to the internet (it connects to the TP-Link without problem but does not make the Internet connection). By going to the "Network snd Sharing Center" it connects or I can disconnecting and reconnecting to the router. Once connected it is stable. I plan to update the Vista computer to Win 7 so I'm not concerned with finding the root cause. Win 7 only shows the max speed, 300Mbbs, but ping tests show I have a very fast connection from anywhere in my home. I recently connected a wireless-N Ethernet bridge (Netgear WNCE2001) to get internet access to the TV/media center. One push of the button on the Netgear bridge and on the TP-Link and I was connected in seconds with full security. It could not have been easier. I've been up and running for about a month with out a hitch. I've also experience several power outages with full recovery; no resetting required.

Set up instruction kinda iffy however I'd consider myself a rookie. Once set up - no problems with good range and great speed.

OK ... i have had this router for 65 days, for the last 4 weeks, it has been acting weird.. needing rebooted... at first it was once every few days.. now it is 10+ times a day... i call Amazon.. "TOO BAD".. its out side of the 30 day window.. .. I call the vendor tech support (in china) and after many emails, and phone calls.. its deemed to be defective, and i can pay for the return shipping (no cross ship) to the Manufacture in California, and they will ship me a new one... so I'm without a router for about 2 weeks, and I have to pay to ship it there.. WHAT A CROCK OF CRAP!! its not even 90 days old.. and now i have to pay to get a new one..

I bought this product because of the low price and good reviews but wow was that a bad choice. Set up was easy but after a restart it never worked again. By the way I returned it to amazon and the next one did the same exact thing! Avoid!

I really wanted to like this router. The price vs features was great; 1GB Ethernet, 300mbs N wireless, and plenty of options. I am using a combination of G & N wireless equipped laptops (XP & Windows 7). The wireless would just quit working on all computers at random intervals. Indicators on each PC showed the wireless connection as up but you could NOT connect to the internet. I had to power-cycle this router several times times a day. I spent several hours resetting the router, tweaking the options plus I replaced my Qwest DSL modem. Still no luck. I got tired of it after a few days and returned the router for a refund.

We decided to upgrade from Wireless G to N for enhanced speed and range. We initially bought the Belkin N+ router, but found it to be very unstable and unreliable. After returning that, we thought we'd splurge on the Cisco Valet Plus--what an overpriced, underperforming piece of junk that was. But the third time was the charm--this TP-Link router has excellent range, was very easy to set up (except that the mini-CD doesn't work in a Macbook), and performance is great. I would definitely recommend this router--fast, reliable and affordable.

I received this item and couldn't wait to hook it up. The first problem I encountered was that it came with a mini CD and my Mac does not take a mini CD. So we tried to set it up manually, forget it! I got stuck somewhere in the middle and called tech support twice,( of course they don't speak english well at all! so what good are they, they couldn't help me, so I called my internet service provider and he got it working but not well, it was very slow and was messing up my Java program. So then I had a friend copy the mini CD onto a full sized CD only to find out it was in windows format and wouldn't work on my MAC anyway. WHAT A PAIN! So back it went. Of course I can't review how well it works cause I never really got it configured right, everyone else seems to like it. But if your a Mac owner the apple technician recommended the linksys or netgear router systems. So back went the TP link and I have ordered the linksys. The attributes ratings I left are according to my bad experience with the system, but maybe you'll have better outcome than I did.

TP-LINK Ultimate Wireless N Gigabit Router - TL-WR1043ND
I bought this router a couple weeks ago based on good reviews received. However, my experience so far in the last two weeks is not consistent with those reviews. I have two laptops. One is wired to this router and the second one (an ASUS EEE PC901) runs wireless through the router when my wife is using the wired one. I am only using the wireless for one hour daily at most. This new router has dropped connection twice in the last two weeks. Fortunately, it re-connected itself within 1 minute or two. My worry is that it may happen again when I am doing online banking. I have used my second laptop for two years when I travel oversea or visit my family out of town. It has never had any disconnection issue. It appears this disconnection issue is in this new router. I am considering to return it to AMAZON. Another issue was the installation instructions described in the guide are conflicting with the sticker taped on the ports where it says "Please run the CD first". If you follow the instructions in the guide, your modem, router and laptop are supposed to be powered off when you reach this step in the installation guide. So it would be difficult to run the CD with your laptop powered off. Besides, both the guide and CD never mention when to turn on the modem and router. I followed the CD with modem and router powered off. Then an error ocurred for no connection obviously becausez the router and modem were still powered off.
