While the quality of the speakers are very good, generation 2 Ipod Nano owners need to know that the there is not an adaptor available to hold your ipod correctly in place. When I talked to Logitech, they simply sent me the same adaptors that originally came with the speakers. Also, in order to charge the unit while using the speakers, you will need to either connect to your computer USB port, or buy an optional Apple Ipod charging adaptor for your Ipod.

I was looking for a long time for portable speakers for my ipod, and most of the ones I found were way over-priced. I actually considered buying the circular ones that have great sound, but i really wanted something i can carry around. The thing about this, it's not just for an ipod, it's for anything that has a plug for headphones, I even use it for my computer when I watch videos because they get pretty loud. Surprisingly my batteries have not died as soon as I thought they would. It comes with a carrying case. I love that they are so small, it was definitely worth the price!

...be sure you know what you're NOT getting. These speakers do not connect to your iPod via the iPod dock connector; you have to plug in the provided cable to the headphone jack. And this does not charge your iPod while playing, although the instructions conveniently show you how to connect it to a computer to do so, in case you never figured that out before!
Again, great sound for the price, but the pictures imply features that are not included. Caveat emptor!

quick review, i purchased this item specifically for vacation, and to fill a hotel room the speakers are just fine, now if you are relying on this product to replace some nicer stereo equipment then you will be dissapointed, but overall solid execution. One negative is the nano doesnt exactly fit snug into the holder, other than that all else ok.

Based on the pictures shown on Amazon as well as Logitech's web site, one would believe the dropping your iPod into the dock charges and provides the audio connection to the speakeres. You'd be incorrect on both counts. You still have to plug into the computer to charge this thing, and there's a cable (not shown in any of the pictures) that you have to plug into the top of your iPod to make the audio connection.
We returned this item and went with something by Altec Lansing in the same price range instead...we're much happier with it.

These portable speakers put out surprisingly good sound for the iPod. I used them in a cinderblock classroom and got great results, both in volume and clarity. My only gripe is that the 2nd generation Nano doesn't fit the included Nano adapter properly, so it doesn't sit snugly. That said, it matters very little; I still use the speakers on a regular basis, and for the price, these are the best value.

Puts out a decent level of sound from an inexpensive set of speakers. It looks best suited for someone that travels with an iPod and wants to listen to tunes at the hotel without sticking the earpods in the ear, and it satisfies that need--quite good sound for such a small unit but of course it's not gonna match the bigger Bose or Apple or Klipsch or similar units that you might sit on your desk. A note of caution--while the description refers to routing the charging cable, this unit does not charge your iPod. All it does about charging is to let you put your separate charging cord from your separate charger through a hole in this unit--don't be mislead by the mention of "holds your iPod cables for charging" that it has anything to do with actually charging your iPod. The travel bag is 13" long by 4" around, which is the size of the unit (it doesn't fold in half or anything like that), so it's fairly portable. Volume is definitely acceptable, as I see some reviews for similar products
