Product Review:  This thing is worthless garbage.

It is a bit of a bummer that you can't use it as an additional controller, but it is what it is. I read about it before buying so I knew it would plug into the Wii remote. At least it's still wireless and doesn't require additional batteries.

I can use my TV as a 2nd monitor for my laptop via an S-Video connection. Then I can use the remote as a mouse or controller to browse the net or play games. No Wii required.

Lately I've been using it to play games on my laptop via Bluetooth. It works amazingly well with emulators. Even better with an S-Video connection to my TV.

I've seen some YouTube videos about using your wiimote on your computer, but what do you mean with connecting it to the TV?

Yeah, I really like that on Guitar Hero III for Wii, it beeps on the wiimote and not the screen. But the wiimote doesn't really follow your swing well in Golf for Wii Sports. But I love that it's wireless, not too many buttons to worry about, and that you hold it vertical in some games, horizontal in others.
