Ok I have to admit, I bought the PS3 simply for this and to be able to play every other MGS game (use an MSX emulator for the originals, its cheaper). And I love the series, even this game. But I seriously cannot deny the truth anymore, there is not enough gameplay in this game!
Really, Acts 1 & 2 have the motherload and after that you're playing connect the cutscenes. The game should have been a bit more action oriented, while playing Act 2 I was getting so pumped up because I knew the game was going to be just as in depth and involving as MGS3, but it didn't turn out that way.
Just throwing that out, I like the entire series, but this game is a total tease.

Overall I'm quite disspointed with this game.
Let's break it down though.
Graphics 5/5: As far my opinion goes, this is the most graphically superior fighting game there is at the moment, the scenes are beautifully rendered and the characters are rich in detail.
Controls 5/5: The controls never change and no exceptions here, the game is easy and can be jumped right into.
Character Creation 1/5: What a HUGE step back here...SC:III had so many innovative things here a "profession" made it feel unique and special. Now it's just "What character do you want to rip off?!" Which is extremely lame and lazy in my opinion. The different combos of clothings/faces are alright not as extravagant was SC:III was.
New Features 2/5: The "Tower" is quite bland and more like just a scenario mode nothing overly special about it.
The online mode I will admit I haven't tried yet but...I imagine it's no different then having someone sitting aside of you playing. I most certainly miss the strategy mode as

I really enjoyed this game and it was fairly simple and straightforward. The only drawback is that if you want additional songs you must have additional services. Only 30 or so songs are included. But, you don't have to have a good voice to do well, just sing on the right pitch. You can also change your character, clothes, etc. I think all ages would enjoy this game if the right songs were downloaded. The songs included are a mix between recent hits and old favorites.

This is the best game I have ever played in my life!!! You will never play anything else... The xbox has nothing compared to this.. The PS3 is the best out there.. You will be hooked from the moment you start to the very end... Just buy this game now!!!

I've been a fan of racing games for a long time, and actually race in various forms of SCCA racing myself. I've raced high and low powered front and rear wheel drived cars and have learned a lot through competing and the various schools and classes I've attended. I had never played a Gran Turismo game prior to Prologue, having always had XBox or other consoles previously. I had heard so much about it that I didn't even bother with demos and simply bought the game the day it was available. Now having played it for several months all I have to say is I don't think I'll even consider buying the full GT5 whenever it makes it here.
My major gripes are as follows:
1) Atrocious game play layout
2) Poor physics
3) AI and damage are absolutely laughable.
To start with the game play is ridiculous. It reminds me of the old days of games where you do routines over and over and over to gain points/experience/money to buy the next level. The success you have in the races and your carrer mean

This game keeps my husband playing for hours and hours. He is constantly after my two boys (both video game junkies) to play with him. Great game, great graphics. Note to wives - will give you some free time :)

Entertaining game. I bought it for my 16 year old, he said it was a good deal because it came with more than just one game and they were all good. I personally like the catchey music to the game Portal. The shipment was quick and it was in perfect condition.
I would recommend this to friends.

I was hesitant about buying this game after being disappointed in the last several years versions, but I will say this year is an improvement.
I like the improvements made with the recruiting assistance, the player graphics and animations are better, I like the way the pre-snap routes will be squiqqly when playing on the road in a hostile environment, the re-addition of the cheerleaders is a good thing, and just playing the game is funner than last years.
I am disappointed in the way the crowd looks though, and there are a few glitches that bug me as well, such as when you throw passes near the sidelines your player will tip-toe and stretch to make the catch and fall down, even if they're not right next to the sideline, and have plenty of open field ahead of them. There are still some things that they can be improved upon to make it an even more enjoyable game playing experience, but I still like it.

This game has just been getting minor improvements for years now, and 09 is no exception. Its not that good of a game anymore, its time for a serious overhaul. Plus you throw in the fact that the game is loaded with bugs this year and you have a game that can be passed on. Very underwhelming overall. The gameplay is better with some new animations, but there are so many annoying quirks that ruin it, players will run out of bounds even when they are wide open and running for a TD, linebackers will turn and run in the opposite direction of the ballcarrier, cornerbacks will hesitate and stand straight up to allow an offensive player to make a play, D-linemen are useless and will be wiped out by the worst o-lines in football. All of these are due to EA's attempt to make the gameplay more wide-open. Essentially all they did was make the AI defense absolutely retarded. Plus there is a roster bug where entire teams will literally disappear. Seriously. Also the biggest new feature of the year "Online

First thing...this game is far and away a superior title to last years horrendous offering, and don't get me started about the 07 version. Gameplay is much improved with the game having a more natural feel and flow to it overall. You actually get a sense that you have some control over what you're doing, and what you may do next, when it comes to running with the ball. The previous versions were nothing more than an advanced guessing game with some less than intuitive button mashing going on to try and get to the next level. With 09, you can see the play developing and can react accordingly. The passing game benefits from this as well...I no longer feel immediate pressure to get the ball in the air the second I snap it. There is no issue with setting up to throw and finding a receiver for the most part. Of course you don't have all day either, and it's this solid balance that gives it that more authentic feel while running your offense.
Defensively...there is still alot of guess work involved...especially

If you love playing Unreal or Halo, this game will probably catch you off guard. However, in the recent surge of "realistic" shooters, COD4 really seems to take the cake. The story mode is enthralling through most of the missions. If you haven't played many next-gen games before this, you'll likely play through the first mission with your jaw on the floor. The game looks very detailed and gameplay is smooth and entertaining.
Even as good as the one-player missions are, the real reason for buying this or most shooters is for the online play. You'll find plenty of opponents waiting online in one of the many gameplay types. Online games range from 4-18 players depending on the mode, and it has a big effect. Smaller games will make you feel a little more adrenaline because you don't know where the next enemy is going to jump out. Some of the bigger games can be a little more laid back, and make it easier to play without be afraid of dying.
The interface of the game is well-made, controls

This game came with the recent PS3 I bought about a month ago. I've never played any of the other series (but I've watched some of the story) and even then I still got hooked into this latest installment of the franchise. The story is absolutely compelling (it actually seems like a movie at times) and the graphics are easily some of the best out there. However, I wouldn't suggest this title to anyone who is unfamiliar with the series. This game is very story based and is at times difficult to follow.

Sony makes you buy their microphones to play SingStar -- you cannot just take your Rock Band microphone and plug it into your PS2 or PS3. So if this is the first version of SingStar you are buying, make sure to get the one with microphones!
Otherwise the game is a lot of fun. The music selection feels like it contains more current music than Rock Band, and the songs that are from back in the day have a different feel. But there are tons to choose from online as well.

This really is one beautiful game; it truely is. The players and ballparks are simply gorgeous. The graphics are first rate for the most part, and game just exudes the look and feel of baseball as you see it on TV. The player mannerisms are all there, and the first time you boot this game on your PS3 you will probably think, "Finally, someone managed to get a baseball game right!!" And you'll probably feel that way right up until you actually try to do something in this game, at which point you will find out that MLB08: The Show is a much better show than it is a game.
The swing controls are klunky, and even if you dumb them down to just timing with the classic settings you are probably in for a rough ride. And then there is all the phony drama. In Road to the Show that means having your team mates start a rally just in time for you to hit into a double-play to end the inning. Get used to it friends, because that is the norm. Then there are opposing pitchers that have stratospheric

This was a good game. The feel that you were actually on the front lines was there but the single player is so darn short!!! I finished it in one day (with shopping and a 2 hour nap break!) And the multiplayer was OK. It looks great, feels great, but at least make it last a day!!!

This game didn't disappoint. I was highly entertained for as long as this game lasted. The video scenes are plenty and some of them lasted pretty long, but they added value to the game and story. This game is graphically stunning. It used the capabilities of the PS3 wonderfully. This is a nice completion to this series, but I do wish they didn't choose to end it yet. SNAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The first-person shooter - and especially the "futuristic" first-person shooter - has been done, over and over, with little to no changes in gameplay, since almost the beginning of gaming itself. With that said, games like Haze occasionally try to mix things up a little, and while the idea is good, the execution ends up dragging it down a lot.
The underlying plot of the game, both single-player and multiplayer, is that, in the future, a company/organization called Mantel uses a drug called Nectar to produce a generation of drugged-up super soldiers to fight for them in the third world. Multiplayer battles consist of skirmishes between Mantel troopers and rebels, while in singleplayer you start as a trooper and switch sides later on.
The two sides have the same basic first-person gameplay, with some key abilities that are different. Mantel troopers inject themselves with Nectar, which enhances their perception (scopes can zoom in farther, enemies are rendered as glowing objects) and strength

This game is great for one or two players. it follows the three movies exact and incorporates the same music and scenes that all indiana jones fans love. i enjoyed playing this game, and once youv'e finished the game you can go back and continue to solve the puzzles you couldnt while playing the story.

For me, this is the best tennis game i've ever played:
let me break it down
the good:
-graphics and detail of the players are unmatched
-career mode is challenging and keeps you having fun for hours
-speed of play is as realistic as any tennis game ive ever played
-on line play has a lot of potential
-the CREATE A PLAYER feature has tons of options
-overall game play is superior
the bad:
-the crowd and overall reactions of players after big points is lacking
-online server needs some work, but there is definately potential
-while there are definate superstars in the game, i still want to see more star tennis players (Venus, Serena, Ivanevic, Djokovic, Etc.)
For tennis fans -it's a no brainer - this is a must buy

Being a fan of Hellboy, I was kind of looking forward to Hellboy: The Science of Evil. However, also being a veteran gamer, I wasn't looking all that forward to the game, simply because of the terrible history of licensed video games. Well, I didn't expect too much out of the game, but what you get here may even be below your lowest expectations. Hellboy: The Science of Evil puts you in the shoes of the title character as you brawl through numerous hordes of baddies and take on the occasional boss. That's it. That's all you do from beginning to end in this game, and it gets boring very, very quickly. Not to mention that the game as a whole is quite short, quite easy, and features some technical issues that all combine to make the game quite bad. The game features some bland environments and choppy animation, and the clipping issues are more distracting than anything else. Co-op multiplayer is also available where you can play as Abe Sapien and Liz in addition to playing as Hellboy,
