LEGO Batman: The Videogame: PlayStation 2
I was a great fan of the lego starwars games. They were super fun and these days its surprisingly hard to find good games that two can play together. Lego games have a great combination of humor, fun gameplay and a little thinking too.

When I rented this one I was worried as for me the Lego Indiana Jones was quite disappointing - short playtime, many bugs and glitches and just not as fun missions.

However Batman delivers. Game looks much better than any of the previous ones, there are a lot of missions - you get play the Villains and the heroes in separate episodes. In general the game seems more polished than the predecessors.

Humor is still there and the animations are funny. In general very fun game for 1 or 2 players.

For younger players the game might be a little more challenging than the star wars ones. Also game contains hacking and slashing of lego characters - obviously its done in very non-gruesome way but there is beating of the bad guys.
Game has a lot puzzle-like elements

LEGO Batman: The Videogame: PlayStation 2
You'd figure that with two Lego Star Wars games and Lego Indiana Jones already under their belts, Travelers Tales' Lego games would be getting kind of stale. Well, you'd figure wrong. Lego Batman features everything that was enjoyable with the aforementioned games, and slaps the Batman license on it to boot. Playing as the Caped Crusader and his sidekick Robin, you traverse a Lego-fied Gotham City and take on the usual rogues gallery of baddies. Fans of the Batman comics will be happy to see plenty of familiar faces: Joker, Nightwing, Batgirl, Hush, Bane, and plenty more are all here for your amusement. If you've played any of the previous Lego-based games, you should already know what to expect here, as Lego Batman offers up plenty of funny and comical moments supplemented with tons of unlockables and bonus characters to boot. The game looks good and even offers Danny Elfman's classic Batman theme, rounding out the presentation. The only downsides to Lego Batman are the same flaws

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed: PlayStation 2
As a casual gamer, I found this game outstanding. Although not flawless, it delivers a great storyline, top notch graphics, excellent combat dynamics, and remarkable playability. The combat revolves almost solely around your Force powers-- you can throw ANYthing at an enemy, distant choke holds, hurl devastating lightning, impale enemies on your lightsaber, this is some seriously cool stuff!! There is a gliche here and there; once and a while during a boss battle, if you get cornered, the camera may get confused, and you'll find yourself turned around, and I've had the character--not the game-- freeze up once or twice, but when I did a restart, everything was saved. I can live with that. All in all, a great, great game. If you love the Star Wars Mythos, and still play on a PS2, buy this-- at $39.98, it's a real bargain. Although I suspect the XBOX, or PS3 version is even better.

LEGO Batman: The Videogame: PlayStation 2
If you liked LEGO Star Wars and LEGO INDY, then LEGO BATMAN is already in your Playstation....'nuff said. If you didn't like them...you won't like BATMAN...if you didn't try them, you should.

The LEGO games are fun for the whole family, young and old, the animated LEGO movie links to the gaming threads are wild & wicked and worth the purchase on their merits alone. The format for Batman is much like the Lucasfilm game sets, just not directly connected to any particular movies...although (thankfully) the Danny Elfman music (circa 1989) runs throughout the game, the style is generic Batman via LEGO LAND. The villains have teamed up to escape Arkham Asylum and the Dynamic Duo must stop them...each villain has a story arc to unlock, before free play is possible in the related locations...so like the previous installments, replay value is high, you can return to the story setting later as several optional characters including the villians themselves in order to find hidden "trophies" to build

Speed Racer: The Video Game: PlayStation 2
Make no mistake about it, readers. Speed Racer: The Videogame is a fun and exciting game that captures the look and feel of the movie. It's the closest thing to an F-Zero game on the Playstation 2 as you're going to get. It's intense. It's challenging(boy, is it ever) and it's one of the best movie tie-in videogames I've seen thus far. You can race as Speed or over 15 other characters in races through amazing futuristic tracks featuring loops, corkscrews, jumps and more from the movie. Smash, jump, flip and spin with massive "car-fu" combat against your friends in multiplayer.

While I love this game, however, there are ways that I felt they could've improved the game. First off, they could've gave more story as to what happend with Speed Racer and company(friend or foe) at this year's races. Second, why no "Speed Racer" theme or music from the movie? That boring 'techno' music just doesn't cut it. Third(and perhaps most importantly), they could've had ways to improve your car's handling-steering-acceleration

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed: PlayStation 2
Okay, so I have to agree with the other review here that the game is kind of lacking in that god-like power we kind of figured we'd be able to experience from the intro (I wanted to sink a star destroyer and not from just a cut-scene. Still, you get to knock around some TIE fighters). The Force Unleashed is still a pretty cool game, however.

I'm a big fan of "Jedi Academy", so I was expecting it to play a bit more like that (it really felt like you had more choices in Jedi Academy). This game is VERY linear, and you won't get a chance to just go explore any planet you feel like (I was kind of hoping a guy could get to hang out in the Star Wars universe a little) and it seems EVERY bad guy has a shield up. Even in Jedi Academy you could take down a storm trooper with a little light-saber action. In this game, you kind of have to hack at 'em a bit.

I'm still pretty addicted to this game. The ability to customize so many different force powers is awesome, as is finding different color

Dance Dance Revolution X with Dance Pad: PlayStation 2
I've been playing DDR for five years now. (I have Konamix, all versions for PS2, and I'm working on getting all the Xbox versions.) I can honestly say that even after playing for only two hours, X is one of my favorites. Tied with Supernova, beaten only by Extreme 2, and nothing like Supernova 2, which was boring, frustrating and irritating all at the same time. I felt challenged. It's not too hard or too easy. It's just right.

There is still a "Beginner" level, though I honestly haven't played any songs at that level so I can't give an honest opinion of it. I'd say that this would be a great game for Beginners though, if only for the simple fact that I feel the Basic/Trick/Expert are rated pretty accurately in comparison to previous games.

All the songs seem to have a good beat, even the slower ones. Usually there are a couple that I don't like, a couple that annoy me... But I liked all of them. (I played half of the them, and briefly listened to most of the others.) It's the complete

TNA Impact: PlayStation 2
I'm a huge TNA fan, so I was very excited about this game coming out, but what a waste. No actual character creation. No multi-tap for more than 2 players. The moves are VERY limited. The controls are'nt very user friendly. The story line although cool, is only for some pre-made character, they came up with. And worst of all, my game has a glitch when you try to play a tag match. The tag partner outside the ring gets stuck if you hop off the ring apron(to the point where you can see their head sticking out of the ring.
Over all, a great idea for the best wrestling company in the bussiness, but they should have went with a game designer that had a clue how to make a wrestling game. My only hope is that since this is the first attempt, they will greatly improve on the next one.

Mercenaries 2: World in Flames: PlayStation 2
This game was postponed for over a year and in that time it appears EA did nothing to improve the game, but spent that time developing its sale's pitch. This game is bad (bad as in bad) Awful, not only does it play like a last gen X-box game, but the story (if you can call it that) is lacking. So let's pick it up from there, shall we? As a mercenary in Venezuela you are betrayed by a dictator and now seek revenge. Along the way you work with the Allied Nations, the Chinese government, some local rebels, and others to exact your revenge. With all these factions one might believe there would be some side quest/plots/missions, well guess what? There are none! So the story line fails, let's look at the game play.

The only saving grace of the game is the game play, but don't expect any huge improvements from the first Mercenaries. Destroying buildings (which is the main selling point of the game has been enhanced) And you are given a lot of weapons to accomplish this: Tanks, explosives, air

Yakuza 2: PlayStation 2
Any fan of the original Yakuza (PS2, 2006) will be happy with this worthy sequel. Any one who missed out on that phenomenal Shenmue-esque adventure should purchase it alongside this original while supplies last, which they won't for long. Support the games and developers you love!

Yakuza 2: PlayStation 2
When Sega's Yakuza for the PS2 finally came stateside a while back, it offered up a decently entertaining brawler at best that just didn't do too much to seperate itself from the rest of the pack. Yakuza 2 thankfully, and surprisingly, improves on much of what the first game offered in terms of gameplay, graphics, and story; and is a pretty satisfying brawler that will keep you entertained for some time. Playing once again as Kazuma, you traverse through a nicely detailed Japan, and are still looking to put an end to your days with the mob. The game looks solid for a late-in-life PS2 game, offering up some nicely detailed characters and environments, while gameplay-wise the moments of brawling are easy enough to pick up and get into, and other elements bear more in common with the gameplay of the classic Shenmue. There's a lot of secrets and extras to find and uncover as well, and as a whole, Yakuza 2 will keep you busy for a while at the very least. The game's story is also nicely

TNA Impact: PlayStation 2
The game is amazing. I have played ever smackdowen , WWE game, and WCW and I have not found game which runs more smooth then this one. There is no lag time between moves. Everything flows perfectly and the Roster is fantastic. The AI is challenging buy you will not regret it

PS2 - Madden NFL 09
This years Madden is much like the others with only a few updates for ps2. There is no madden IQ on the ps2 version and we still get the same commentary as last years version. They added the new QB avoidance stick which takes some getting used to. It seems easier to run in this version than last years version of madden. Graphics got a little update and the soundtrack is better than last years as well. Other than that theres not a whole lot to brag about. If you enjoy updated rosters and a few new updates and have an extra 40 bucks to drop then go for it, but if your just the casual madden player then save your money. Im sure the PS3 version of the game is a lot better. I think its time to upgrade b/c the games on ps2 are just getting plain outdated at this point, I'd much rather play madden on a ps3. Now if only i had an extra $500...!

Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood
Ok, first of all let me say that at first I wasn't a big fan of this game when it first came out but, after playing the multiplayer mode with friends over XboxLive it made me want to try the single player mode and it took a little to grow on me but, after 2 missions I was hooked. Now let me be clear, the single player mode is fun, you control a team of operatives that are out to stop the terrorists plot (SIMPLE RIGHT?) Not, imagine the show 24 if Bauer was in charge of a tactical squad in the middle of a 3 day ground war (HOTNESS)

Now the multiplayer mode is where I get get my most joy of this game. The more than a dozen modes to choose from and the fact that you can compete or cooperate with 16 players around the world is awesome. I love to play co op campaign with my buddies, everyone picks there fav weapon and try to accomplish the goals whatever they may be together or break up into small two man teams to complete the objectives. I love the sniper rifle myself. But seriously you have

PS2 - Swashbucklers
This is actually a pretty good game to pass the time. It is slow at times, because of the screen changes, which happen a lot and they don't change fast. The story line is lacking some what and the end is unbelievably hard to win, campared to the rest of the game. The game overall, is good, not excellent. If I had it to do over again, I wouldn't purchase it.

Mercenaries 2: World in Flames: PlayStation 2
I..to put it simply, have been playing Mercenaries 1 non-stop since the day of it's release. So when this one came out I snatched it up...and I beat it already. First off, fans of Mercs waited forever for the release. I mean they kept putting the release date back for almost a year and a half. So I can't say I'm altogether disappointed. The game is similar to the first one in many ways. The Graphics are better. The Map is much larger but just one, instead of 2 levels. In this version you get your own pad.You get to hire the help you need, and Fiona is an actual character instead of just a voice. You collect and stockpile your own weapons and vehicles, instead of ordering them (no cheat weapons though), or purchasing them from contacts. I did find a prototype weapon like the last game. You can buy gunships, airstikes..pretty much the same stuff as the last game.
The tanks aren't as fast or as cool for the most part, but you do get sports cars, boats, helicopters, gunships that were in the

PS2 - Madden NFL 09
This PS2 game is going to be quite the collector item to come, as it has Brett Favre on the cover. In a Packer uniform, but let's not get into that! The packaging it came in was wonderful. It could not get harmed in any way and Overstock allowed a PRE Ordering. This was a great adventure.

PS2 - Madden NFL 09
I purchased this for my son for his birthday. He is constantly playing this game. He says "this is the best Madden football yet"! The graphics are "rad" and "most lifelike of all of the Madden Football's. He was very surprised at the price I purchased it for also! He is so greatful also that he did not have to fight the crowd on it's release date! I received the game on the exact day it was released to other stores, and at a better price! Thanks Overstock!

Falling Stars - Playstation 2
I'm not sure what drew me to order this game, maybe it was the graphics? Or maybe it was the fact that it's a RPG for girls? Who knows? Anyway, when I first got this, I found out relaxed it made me feel. It's not exactly slow, per se, but it's not fast either. There are no rushes on the quests, and it's not a really hard game. Some of the mini-games are quite challenging! Like the Water Lillie one.

Positives: Good use of the controller, never played a game before that used the PS2 controller as effectively as this one.
Ability to play in different languages every time you start the game up: I can switch from English to Italian, Spanish, German, French, and Russian (?).
The monsters disappear from the screen after defeated, until Luna leaves the area, that is.
Speaking of monsters, you are not overwhelmed with them. You can see them, and you can avoid them, as long as you run.

Negatives: Many, many loading screens. They show up every time Luna goes to a new area, or does a new game.
