Speed Racer: The Video Game: Nintendo Wii
I've been waiting a long time for the Speed Racer live action movie...but even longer still, is the amount of time I've wanted to drive the Mach V or better still Racer X's Shooting Star. Now that is virtually a reality. The World Racing League and over 15 major characters from the movie are available to unlock and use on original race courses and film course reproductions. The standard stunt racers (according to the film & game) are T-180, each equipped with jump jacks (you know "unk-unk-unk-unk"), each can "Slide" thanks to their independent wheel rotation, allowing forward movement regardless of the direction the car faces. Each can reach speeds in excess of 400 MPH by riding your opponents slipstream, hitting "speed-up" squares and gaining Boost power by avoiding the sides of the track (like in the Pod-racer game of old) or by performing CAR-FU moves. Yes, CAR-FU, is car combat, maneuvers to take out opponents or simply to gain pole position. CAR-FU moves like the TAIL TOSS, the BOOST

Grand Theft Auto IV: PlayStation 3
The top down GTAs were my favorite I dipped my toes into the other incarnations but tired of the shooting system. The newest entry fixes what I considered to be the weaker points of the franchise and evolves what a GTA gameplay experience can be. After many hours of straight mission runs and overall experimentation everywhere else this GTA will leave you out of breath. Just visually appealing enough with rare cross hatching graphics popping out on occasion, IV looks good but requires alot of BRIGHTNESS?CONTRAST manipulation during some of its exceptionaly darker corners and hours of day. The police pursuits and mayhem factor are much easier to control this time around and you will often find yourself escaping and finishing missions that older games would have had you replaying for days. The music is a nice varied lot as usual and a high point at moments when it meshes with the voice acting and SFX to perfection. The detail to player experience and ambiance is unparalled throughout

Grand Theft Auto IV: PlayStation 3
I don't know how some review sites can give this game a perfect 10 rating. It is a great game, but far from perfect. The PS3 version suffers from several technical problems that have been pointed out here ad nauseam. One patch has already been released, and hopefully future patches will fix the rest of the problems. As for the game itself, it's one of the best ever. It's definitely a solid "9", but far from a 10. If you can wait awhile and avoid the hype, you may be better off waiting until most of the major problems are fixed. Online play has been partially fixed, but it still isn't perfect.

Grand Theft Auto IV: Xbox 360
Pros: - Amazing Graphics - Outstanding Graphics Engine - Great storyline, great gameplay - Xbox Live
Cons: - The reactions on foot are a little slow (Slightly overly realistic) - The cars have crap turning circles ? - Sound volumes are not very good, you cannot hear the person talking on the other end of the phone often
Got this game today, after waiting a week for it over amazon. I payed £40, (approx. $80USD) The wait, was very much worth it! Ripped open the box, stuck it straight in. The xbox auto updated itself with some file, no idea what, but it seemed to require it.

Anyways, the review, can be summed up in a one liner; "Oh my god .. wow .." I've been reading a lot of pre-reviews, and they seemed to say that it wasn't much to look out for. Absolute lies! this game truly is fantastic. Just read the pros, and compare them to the cons.

The graphics truly are outstanding, along with the graphics engine (general motion and realism) not only compared to San Andreas, this game competes with the top xbox/ps3 games. The storyline is also awesome! and best of all xbox live, which i hear is amazing, but i havent got mine set up yet *sobs*

Negatives of this game? My main concern is the sound volumes are a bit .. not thoought through, the car engine is overpowering (You can edit the SFX/Music vols.)

Grand Theft Auto IV: PlayStation 3
This is just a small warning before buying this game. My husband recently got this game for the PS3, we installed it and had been playing it for several hours but when we turned the system off and back on the message 'data corrupt must restore hard drive' greeted us. This game ruined our hard drive. We don't play a lot of games or 'hack' into our system and when we phoned the game store they said they had 5 other people call in recently. I wish they told us before we bought this game.
So there's a warning to you guys, the game is good - if you can get it to play. After reading forums some people say the game only freezes or stops their console from reading discs any more. By the way, Xbox 360 also has similar problems.

Grand Theft Auto IV: Xbox 360
Short Review

Gameplay 6/10 - in essence a glorified GTA III with almost all the same features, some new minigames and side quests, but realism kills a lot of the fun

City 9/10 - incredibly well thought out and realistic city, massive, detailed, has everything that a metropolitan city should have

Vehicles 4/10 - very unimaginative, horrendous driving capability, many cars will roll on turns and will skid on dry pavement, only two special vehicles (helicopter and speedboat)

Controls 5/10 - sloppy, unintuitive, running and walking are nearly useless, weapon cycling is difficult in a firefight

Graphics 6/10 - great visuals on the city, very realistic / cars and other moving object look ok / people and clothes look slightly better than old xbox games rough facial features

Story 8/10 - very good story, considerably different from previous games, a lot of thought put in here

Iron Man: Xbox 360
Whenever there's a big budget movie on the horizon, especially one adapted from a comic book, you can almost always bet on a video game tie-in being somewhere in the distance as well. Well, here's Iron Man, and yes, it is nothing else but another lame cash-in attempt that fails to do its comic and movie counterparts any kind of justice. Playing as 'ol shellhead, you take down wave after wave of baddies, with an occasional boss battle thrown in now and then for good measure. Naturally, what kills Iron Man is the fact that the game as a whole is a tedious bore. You have objectives, you take down the bad guys, etc, etc. The whole game is just so repetitive that it pretty much kills anything good about it. Combine this with some frustrating controls and disappointing graphics (and some just plain awful cut-scenes), and you get what we have here. There are some good points to be found, including the fact that the moments of flying around are pretty okay, there's unlockable extra armors,

Iron Man: Xbox 360
The demo of IronMan was quite entertaining and fun. It didn't take long to get the hang of the flying controlls and the action was implemented quite well. The graphics were not the most impressive I have seen but the demo got me excited enough to buy the game. The opening sequence of the game where Stark builds his first nonflyable suit was good, but after that it went into a "training sequence" to aquaint you with flying and your "super powers" and everything was going so so till I was to grab hold of drones and shown a red button, well I did it but it kept doing the same thing over and over and over and over and over. Basically this has taken a lot of oomph out the game and made me wonder if Sega used playtesters or beta testers to critique repeitive parts like this. I had hopes that IronMan would be the exception to movie tie in games and I think I was wrong. So if you want to avoid frustation you may want to rent it before plunking down the full monty. If the game experience was at

Grand Theft Auto IV: PlayStation 3
Nowadays in gaming for a verification of quality all I have to do is look for the little R* symbol on the bottom right hand corner of a game box, and automatically I know I'm in for a heckuva ride. So naturally I approached GTA 4 with a built in optimism, and I'm happy to report said optimism is still, after all these years, greatly justified.

I think the thing which makes me leap towards all of R*'s titles is the promise of a game possessing a new a unique storyline with the characters to match, and GTA 4 delivers that in spades. In the past the protagonists of each of the GTA games have been cold (Claude in GTA III), ruthless (Toni Cipriani in LCS), hypocritical (Vic Vance in VCS), Twisted (Tommy Vercetti in Vice City), and even sympathetic (CJ in San Andreas) but in the case of newcomer Nikolai 'Niko' Bellic we have a character who is quite tragic and surprisingly endearing whose motives and actions are wholly justified by the knowledge that he is a man with a past which has been tarnished

Grand Theft Auto IV: PlayStation 3
Ok, I know that GTA IV is the big thing out at the moment, and some of the praisers are fanboys (what franchise doesn't have them though?), but this is seriously a great game. I have found that there is merit to both favorable and unfavorable reviews, but overall it is a very enjoyable experience.

If you've played and even remotely liked GTA before, the review ends here. Go out and buy this game immediately. If not, you probably have a pretty good idea of what to expect, so here are some points to consider:

First, the graphics do indeed suffer a bit, along with the framerate, especially noticeable at high driving speed. The game runs natively at 640p so upscaling to 720p would probably be your best bet. Often the game is pretty dark, and changing the brightness/contrast only helps a little.
Some people complain the gameplay can be repetitive. Yes the missions generally involve the same common themes like playing hitman or delivery man, but I guarantee you, you will never experience the

Iron Man: Xbox 360
A lot of people will read my review and think that I am nuts, but I really enjoy playing this game. I didn't like it much at first but once I began to play more it quickly began to grow on me. Yes, I already am a fan of Iron Man and the movie was awesome so that probably has a lot to do with my reasonings for liking this game. It is obvious, however that they rushed this game out to coordinate with the movie. When I started to play this game I went into it already knowing that this would not be the next Halo 3 or GTA IV. I kept my expectations in check and I am not disapointed.

Iron Man: PSP
First, ignore most of what you see as far as information regarding this game. Most if not all of the Screen-shots and trailers are for the PS3 and Xbox360 version, that includes the info amazon has posted for this game.

I really wanted to like this game but ended up disappointed with a few aspects. I'm not saying its a bad game but my recommendation is to wait till this game comes down in price. I don't feel its worth it right now to pay 30$ to 40$ when the game only lasts a couple of hours, it also lacks the kind of in-depth game play that makes this worth the money.

The Game itself is ridiculously easy, playing on normal I finished the game without any real difficulties (froze once) with only a couple hours of game play. The first two levels are tutorials teaching you to move and fly, and theres no way to skip these that I could find. In battle you use either your Repulsar Rays, Gatling Gun, Rockets, or Melee; And you can adjust your armor to heighten Propulsion(flight), Armor(defense),

Iron Man: PlayStation 3
The Iron Man game is yet another movie based video game gone bad, the graphics look like PS2, the voice acting is fair, but nothing you'd remember, the game might make you sick the flying is unnatural as it would be to any normal person, the fighting even on hard is repetivtive and poorly done. the upgrade system is the best part of this game getting new and improved weapons just wish i wanted to use them, don't waste your money, rent it and then return it and keep playing GTA IV

Grand Theft Auto IV Special Edition ( Xbox 360 )
Niko is new to America. Brought by hopes and promises of his cousin Roman about how wealthy he is. Unfortunately for Niko he quickly finds the stories to be lies. Grand Theft Auto IV starts as others in the series with an anti-hero. Getting involved in doing the wrong things is all to easy in this game. From the very get go you are learning that living the American life can be difficult and in order to get your story going you must break the law. For the most part Niko doesn't have a problem with this since he has become raw after being a soldier in war.

GTA IV has probably one of the darkest stories so far in the series. This is not the type of game you will play and comment on how cheerful the story is. For those of you who have played previous GTA games you will notice many similarities. From the gameplay mechanics to the story line. Although people who are new to the GTA series will find how simple the learning curve really is in this game. The game gives you an incredible

Wild Earth: African Safari: Nintendo Wii
My 9 year old daughter received this game for her Birthday. She loves the game. It also goes along with what they are studying in school as they are studying Africa in Social Studies right now. The graphics are good and there are lots of different animals to find and discover. The sounds of the animals are also good and their actions are kind of fun to watch too (espicially if you get too close to them). I would say this game is good for the 5-10 year old range. For kids younger than that, the controls might be a bit too difficult and finding some of the animals may get too frustrating. For kids older than that, I think they would probably get bored with the game unless they are really into animals. The missions take you to different areas of Africa where you need to find certain animals and take pictures of them to go into the final report. The final report is very informative, but I don't think most kids will even bother reading it. The mini games are cute, but pretty simple. Overall

Wild Earth: African Safari: Nintendo Wii
My son loves to watch me play this game. He is only three and playing with the multiple controllers is too much for him but he loves animals and loves to find them for me and tell me which way to go. The game is a bit repetitive but it's nice and fun to play.

Iron Man: Nintendo Wii
Short, sweet & to the point: I rate this game at a solid 4.5. Great graphics, weapons, etc...

Only big downside for me is flight controls require aiming both Wii remote & Nunchuk. If you're not 100% focused on what each hand is doing you'll have a hard time steering while in flight mode.

Overall I'm very satisfied with the purchase and would recommend to just about anyone.

FYI to parents of young kids: there is some language in the cut scenes that may not be appopriate for younger players. Violence is not very detailed, though.

Dream Pinball 3D: Nintendo DS
I am 33 so I remember playing real pinball and I have had a blast playing Pinball Hall of Fame: The Williams Collection for the Wii, which I have no doubt is the best pinball video game ever. I decided to try Dream Pinball for the DS, but it has been a complete disappointment. This game doesn't feel anything like real pinball, the camera is no good, and the game just isn't any fun. I will be selling this game.

Summer Sports: Paradise Island: Nintendo Wii
Our family loves Wii Sports and hoped that Summer Sports Paradise Island would deliver similar fun and exercise, but we were sadly disappointed. First up was Badminton where the view starts from behind the server, and then switches to a single-screen distant aerial view (or the same camera angle you started at from the serving side) where one feels little involvement in the action and has minimal apparent control over returns.

Volleyball is similarly boring, and also features bizarre design oversights like servers that appear to miss the ball completely, yet still send it over the net. In most, if not all of the games, one gets precious little sense that what you do with the Wii Remote makes that much difference in your success. Forget the curve balls in bowling, placed shots in tennis, stroke control in golf, etc., that you are used to with the excellent Wii Sports package.

The interface is somewhat cumbersome, and ridiculously long transitions during game play detract from the action

PES 2008: Pro Evolution Soccer: Nintendo Wii
Unlike the disappointing 360 and PS3 versions, the Wii version of Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 is not only fantastic, it revolutionizes how sports games can be played.

What the Wii allows is for the player to point and drag players across the screen, allowing players to control the entire team, rather than only the individual with the ball. This allows players to fake runs, overload sides, and create their own set-plays dynamically. While there is an initial learning curve, PES 2008 Wii allows you to play the truest form of soccer that has been made.
