Easy, simple and fast and great price! I love the fact that it is compact and opens and closes fast. Also,it starts play time fast. The down side is that if you lose the remote control then you cannot forward or rewind. The only way to forward, rewind and volume is through the remote control. The DVD itself only has the Stop, Play, Eject. Great product I highly recommend it especially as a second simple and straight forward DVD player to own.

I needed a new Dvd player,because I purchased a new flat sreen HD
Television,and my original Dvd unit was already about 8 yeras old.
I felt that I was not getting the best picture quality from my old unit,so I
decided to purchase a unit with up conversion capabilities, I was totally surprised by the picture quality of this Sony Dvd upconversion player.
I would recommend this unit anyone considering to up grade there

I bought this blu ray disc player solely for the reason that it had 7.1 analog inputs. This blu ray player allows those of us who have spent thousands of dollars building a quality home theater to keep our old equipment instead starting all over again in order to enjoy the benefits of blu ray. If you have a reciever with hdmi you don't need this blu ray player... buy the cheaper version without the 7.1 analog outputs. If you don't like tweaking your equipment and you have lots of cash, buy a new reciever. It took a little extra effort to set up the player to use only the video from the hdmi, and use the sound from the analog outputs. Then you have to adjust all of your speaker and subwoofer levels again. The extra effort is worth it for those of us with a budget. For under two hundred dollars, this blu ray player does all you need it to do and the picture and sound quality is great. I upgraded the firmware before I ever used it and I have not had a single problem playing any disc.

Before purchasing this product, I researched and reviewed possibly hundreds of dvd players. I wanted the most for the little amount of money I wanted to spend. I needed a small, sleak, reliable dvd player. After deciding on this dvd player, I continued to review the product's reviews, hundreds of them. I found some to say it never worked right out of the box, but that was possibly only 10 or less claiming such things. Products may not always work correctly the first time, and so after reading reviews of 1-3 stars stating ridiculous things such as "it has no eject button on the remote", (you have to walk to the dvd player anyways to take out the dvd, so who cares about that feature? Not me! My last dvd player had that feature and to be honest I never used it.) I decided to make the leap and purchase. I love the 6 disk memory, I use that to the max. It was simple to set up, just plug in and go! The remote is easy to use and even came with batteries. Overall I have already recommended this

don't even waste your money on this. When I bought this player it was $81.99 and it broke down after 8 months wanted to charge me $50 to fix it. Best Buy guy told me they were even having problems with their demo player. Garbage...

if you cant playback what it says it does than your doing something wrong. i bought this player over a year ago and have not had any problems with it. the picture quality doesnt just depend on the player, it also depends on your tv and well i have 2 different types of tv's and it looks good on one and great on the other. i have thrown all dvd and cd playback options at it to see if it would play and it does play all of them.it plays the divx or "avi" files when made as data discs. it plays dvd-/+R/DL/RW, jpeg, IT PLAYS IT ALL...JMR

After seeing all the negative reviews on this unit, I should have known better; but it had all the features I was looking for, so I thought I'd give it a try. Now I know better, and have to drive clear across town to take this paperweight back!

I did lots of research and finalized on BD80, for which I am very happy. I did looked into all the reviews on BD60 in addition to BD80 reveiw, basically this player has few additional features to the BD60 player , which has good rating all over the sites. BD80 is nothing but BD60 + additional features. The key additional feature ,what I feel are 7.1 Analog output, playing Divx formats and Playback Information Window. The one I bought had 1.6 profile, after connecting to Internet, it automatically detected and offered firmware update and updated it to 2.1 profile. Amazon on Demand picture quality is really amazing. The only con , I can see is Netfilx connectivity is missing, however , I assume, we can expect that in near future.. along with any firmware update... I can see the difference in Picture Quality and Audio Quality. I would highly recommend this product. Thanks to 6Ave for good packing and prompt delivery.

What a deal. Bought this after an old dvd player broke. Not blue high HD or anything, but then I don't have an HD tv. Use this dvd every morning when working out, play old hour long tv shows and so far so good. The dvd player and remote work well.

We bought this for my dad for his birthday, but we didn't have a chance to buy him any blu-ray movies yet. We played some standard DVD's and the upconverted picture was amazing in comparison to our upconverting DVD player. The setup was very simple. We practically just set it on the shelf and plugged it in.

Got this blu-ray player for $149.99 bargaining with price match at local BB store. Have been looking for the player with great image and sound and less than $200, this one surprises me how cheap it is. Even better the price of the blu-ray movies have dropped. Also, went online and got a 6' HDMI cable for about $15 with 1.3 cat. and full compatibility up to 1080p. In addition, very easy to set up. So far I'm very impressed and satisfied of my decision. Recommended this blu-ray player to anyone...P.S. Don't forget the Price Match! Talk directly the BB manager to get Price Match!

Bought the player over the weekend and had it setup in 5 minutes. Connecting HDMI to a 40" Samsung 1080p HDTV. Audio is connected using RCA analog to an old Panasonic 300w surround sound that does not have any digital audio inputs....I just set the configuration on the Blu-Ray player to audio compression enabled and BAM..great sound over analog...who knew! Now I can wait another year to buy a new receiver. Was thinking of getting the Panasonic surround with built-in Blu-Ray but the speaker wires on all the all-in-one home theater units now have a big plastic connector soldered on the receiver end. Which would mean I would have to rerun all the speaker wires..PAIN. So upgrading to a full receiver next time.

We've been wanting to get a dvd player for our tv but didn't want to spend a lot of money. This dvd player provided great quality picture that made us want to watch more movies. It's great for the price! And we don't have to buy all the new blu-ray stuff.

XBox 360 went on the fritz, so while Microsoft was repairing/replacing it, we decided to get a "backup" DVD player and got this one. In addition to the normal DVD player features, this one also has a USB port on the front panel that is supposed to allow you to plug in a USB device and play/view movies/pictures on your TV from it. I never got a chance to try it, but the theory is cool!

Nice Blu Ray for the price. After reading some of the reviews I had gotten a little nervous about hearing that this model would freeze up. I have not had that problem but am still a little weiry. So far so good. Also a week after I had bought my Blu Ray at Amazon for $172 It went down in price almost $40 cheaper. Still a good price though. Other movies not in Blu Ray also look better with the upconversion.

Great price, great value, *great* features. I haven't tried out the USB port yet, but plan on it soon.The first one shipped to me had a VERY loud disc drive..sounded like a helicopter about to take off. Overstock's customer service is great, they sent me a new one within 3-4 days that works great. :)

Mine was painless to set up. I use it with a Sony SXRD A2000 TV set, which is 1080p. The DVD player was configured out of the box to send the proper 16:9 1080p signal to my TV set. I didn't have to program anything or dig around in manuals. The DVD remote has TV power and volume buttons; it worked out of the box with my TV, with no programming (guess that's the benefit of having same brand). All can say is, it just worked. How about picture quality? Well. My old Oppo brand DVD player (now broken) was fancier and more expensive. Perhaps if I could compare still frames of the two players or something I could tell the difference. But as it stands, I don't notice a difference versus the old player. It was going to cost more to fix my old player than to buy this one. So I bought this one. It was the right choice. The disc memory feature is great. I watch part of a DVD now, then tomorrow my kid watches his DVD, and later on I put my disc back in, and presto, it resumes where it

Blu-ray discs look great AND upconverted DVDs look great, something most Samsung models still have not quite mastered. Am very pleased with this player!

It does a nice job upconverting standard DVDs, I have it connected to an older 5.1 surround system and it does a nice job with the sound. No need to purchase a new surround sound system or upgrade to a 7.1 system. Awesome picture quality, and you cant beat the sale price of $169.

I bought this product in April 2009 and it stopped working after 5 months.
Now it not recognizes any CD/DVD's.
I will suggest don't by this product; I can give rating as 1.
