Overall I like this. Very fast, a touch pad that responds nearly perfectly, great keyboard.
Vaio update doesn't work out of the box. This is beyond annoying. So far
Sony's chat help has not solved this. I assume it's a Windows 7 thing and will give them some time.
Great price/value at Best Buy

This Macbook Pro is awesome. It has a wonderful vibrant display, has some of the best creative software available (standard!!) and has a sweet trackpad.
Some things I've really enjoyed in a five days of owning this computer:
- Long Battery Life
- The display is just... amazing.
- The multitouch trackpad is convient, easy to use, and has a serious learning curve.
- Built in Microphone has a decent recording tone, good enough for video chats and perhaps a podcast, not so much for recording instruments.
I personally think that the only reason one should go for the next model up would be for if you were in the line of work where you needed a serious graphics processor. The graphics and the display will make you wonder why you never owned a Mac before now. I just plugged in my MacBook Pro just now and had to shield my eyes it was so bright!!
Some minor issues:
- It gets hot in your lap, but don't all laptops?
- Price, I have to admit it does

After shopping extensively I realized the significant value that this Sony VAIO provides, so I just bought it - and love it!
It has fantastic specs and great performance. I especially love the super-fast RAM, spacious 500 GB hard drive, good processor, n-WiFi support, Bluetooth, and BlueRay (for which the screen's 16:9 aspect ratio is ideal).
Set-up was no problem at all, and transfer of my files from my kaput Compaq Presario was facilitated by my fortunately having my files backed-up on a USB hard drive. My transition from XP to Windows 7 went very well. I really had no issues and consider the operating system to be a big step-up.
An unexpectedly cool software tool which comes with the unit is Sony's Picture Motion Browser. Using face recognition technology, after studying my 3000+ photos PMB shows me only those photos in which a selected individual is pictured!
Finally, while I was hoping to buy the unit in black, as I needed it laptop urgently I chose

I searched for about 8 months looking for the right laptop- it is a big decision because it is something you use every day and it is alot of money. the week windows 7 came out I got this HP. I have only had Dells and at first loved this HP. It took a little while for me to figure out how they do things but it was really fast and was the perfect size. My husband and I loved playing the free HP games that come with it and it was totally fast... at first.
I only had my HP for about 10 days and the first weird thing I noticed was my web cam would have a hard time loading. later on, my computer's audio wouldn't work at all. My itunes wouldn't load and neither would my internet. My computer was unresponsive to what I was telling it to do. I brought it back to best buy and they checked it and turns out my free norton protection trial I had on it was not recgonized by the computer even though it was downloaded correctly. Lo and behold I had a really bad virus on it and I hadn't even had

Great computer I had it up and running in no time. I had it on 4hours and it never got hot on my lap. For the power versus $ cant be beat. I'm a full time Computer Sience Student. I plan on writing programs (C#, C++, Database design, Web design HTML. Teacher said this computer will have enough to get through everthing. The Swiss Gear Pegasus 17" is perfect for this computer. I figured I'd buy 1 laptop and 1 computer once for University and I'm done. The only downside is when I bought desktop there was hard copy of all drivers Apps and the OS., none come withh this laptop. a pop up comes on to make a back up copy to DVD ROM.

Great looking computer and it's pink! The pink color is not obtrusive, but subtle. The design is sleek and modern. The texture will hide surface scratches and help keep the computer looking good.
WIndows 7 is a great addition to this computer and makes it a great package for the price. My only small complaint is the smaller hardrive as compared to other laptops in this price range and the short battery life which is no where near 3 hours. Small concessions for the positives of this laptop.

Good price, easy installaiton, a ton of space instantly available. What's not to like? All indications are that Buffalo's low end product is a great choice for an external drive.

This monitor is very clear and very bright, I use it primarily for gaming purposes, I use my Xbox 360 with it, and it is just incredible, the color is bright, but not exaggerated, I purchased the hp 2009m recently, and thought that was just as incredible, but due to my Xbox 360 not running in it's native resolution, I traded it in for this one, I never had a 1080p monitor before, but now I don't think I will ever be able to go back...

What a great machine. So easy to use--realy didn't use the manual and was able to figure it out pretty easily. I bought this as a scanner and FAX and it's great that it has a document feeder. Strongly recommend this product.

I've always used Canon printers and been very happy with them. This printer is a heavy well built printer and it should last a long time. It's easy to install and prints photos perfect. I like the fact that it prints on both sides of the paper if you need to.It also has separate color cartrages so you don't waste unused ink.

I am happy with this scanner. The scanned images are high quality and the software seems easy enough to use for simple scans. I have not tried complicated adjustments, so I don't know how easy that will be if I need to do it.
The size is a little big, but not crazy. This thing is heavier than it looks (it doesn't feel cheap), so moving it around a bunch is a bit of a task. The lid being heavy may sound like an odd complaint, but I use this for online banking and I have to swap out multiple checks from my wife's business and it is a bit of a chore swapping them out. For someone who is planning on scanning hundreds of pictures it is something you will notice. Finally, concerning speed...I gave it 5 stars because the speed is good for what I'm using it for, but if you think you are going to scan in a bunch of negatives this will take forever. I tried the negative scanning just to mess with it, and it takes about 12 minutes to scan in one 4 picture strip at the highest quality setting.

Nice computer, I bought it for video editing. I loaded Premiere CS3 and got the message that the computer had an incompatable sound card and I wouldn't be able to record sound. I tried it anyway and it worked. Next I loaded Encore CS3, loaded OK but could not open it, it would go as far as the"enjoy the blue-ray" blurb and the whole computer would freeze up and I would have to re-start. I disabled the DVD drive and it loaded, I then enabled the DVD drive but I couldn't burn a DVD. These are the primary programs that I use, as I had issues with both of them I just returned the computer.
I get most of my info from user reviews, that is why I am writing this this to share my experience.

My daughter had a Dell Inspiron 6000 for over 4 years and it was time to upgrade. After looking at all of the other models and brands, we decided to stay with the Dell product since we own other Dell computers and have never had an ounce of problems or trouble with them.
The initail setup took less than 30 minutes to create the User ID's, login password, connect to the wireless network and start printing to our networked printers. Windows 7 was so easy to connect to the wireless router and printers in our home. A major improvement over Windows Vista.
Our main computer in the house uses Windows XP and another laptop we have is Windows Vista and will not connect to the printers, but it will connect to the router to surf the internet. However, the new Dell 1545 laptop 1545 with Windows 7 connected to the printers without any issues in less than 2 minutes. The Dell laptop can swap files, music, pictures, etc. between the house main computer (using Windows XP) with no problems.

This is my 3rd new computer in six weeks. Returned the others due to hardware/software isses. This one has so far been the best, everything works and pre-loaded with Win7. Low volume corrected by adjusting equalizer, very good sound now. Seriuos gamers should upgrade graphics card.

The notebook itself is nice - fast, big space, lots of ram.
I had two major problems:
1 - this gets VERY hot very fast. Too hot. Way too hot.
2 - The controls you normally see along the top - the "flat buttons" built into the case (ie. volume, mute, networking on/off, etc.) are strangely placed on the left. My left hand bumped into it constantly while typing - just the first day - turning off the network, turning mute on and off, and making a BEEP noise on each button tap. Very annoying to anyone else in the room.
Aside from the heat (which was very bad) and the strangely placed soft controls (which made typing very difficult on that giant keyboard) it seemed to be a good machine.
I exchanged down for the 17" model with 500GB and 6GB ram

This is my first laptop and I got it for mainly school purposes and I absolutely love this thing. It has an amazing pictures, it is so clear and clean looking. It is perfect for portability, it is light and just the right size. Everything I have went into also loads extremely fast. it also has a great sleek and clean looking design to it that still keeps it edgy. And I have been on it pretty much non stop trying to figure everything out and it doesn't get hot at all, it stays luke warm. Overall I just love this little guy. I don't know how I've survived so long without one, I'll never go back to a desktop again.

I purchased this laptop on a Sunday and by Tuesday i was returning it for a new one. The SD card reader did not work at all. Another problem i have had with the old one and new one is that i have found the internet and programs freeze often. I blame Windows 7, i really dont like this operating system. For all the hype saying, "it never freezes" and "its the best operating system yet" it sure does not live up to it. I have had to restart several times since owning it (not even a week yet). Overall the computer itself is good, i enjoy it. I would recommend this to others but I will warn them about Windows 7.

so i've been reading a lot of reviews on here and one complaint is that there's no scroll feature but there is. you have to keep one finger down and scroll with the other. if you keep your index down and scroll with your middle finger then it goes up and down, and if you keep your middle finger down and scroll with your index then it goes left to right. pretty cool. and also the volume is pretty quiet but if you go to speaker properties and then srs audio inhancement, you can turn everything on there up and the helps a lot. hopefully this is helpful. i just got mine yesterday and so far so good! this is my first laptop so i don't really know what to expect but so far, i'm really glad i got this one
