So far I've had this printer almost two weeks, and I think I've finally figured out how to get it to stop crippling my system.
At first, the drivers on the CD caused my internet connection to drop every minute or so. I downloaded the latest drivers from the HP website and at first it appeared that things improved, but I discovered that the drivers caused my computer to hang after a short time and hose my system so bad it wouldn't even shut down! On one occasion of turning my computer off without shutting down, it actually messed up my operating system and I had to rebuild my machine!
I can definitively trace the problem to the HP drivers because the problems occur only after installing the drivers, the problems disappear when the drivers are uninstalled, and even on a freshly built system I experience the same issues right after installing the HP drivers!
For those stuck in a similar rut, here's the steps I've gone through after many hours of tinkering and talking with HP support to

I've had mine for just over 24 hours; suffice it to say...I love it. I got a little USB mouse for mine because I hate touchpads, and I've just been having a ball -- surfing and doing other little tasks.
I had tested this PC at a local Micro Center, and for a while I considered not getting it because of the keyboard being small and very hard to type on with 10 fingers without making errors. I even practiced for about 10 or 15 minutes in the store, and still kept making errors.
But I was hard-pressed to give up on the thing because I just loved its portability. So I went back the next day and started typing on it again, and strangely, I was improved. And I keep getting better and better on it (I'm typing this review on it with absolutely no problem).
I agree with other reviews that people shouldn't try to make it their main computer; (I myself have a desktop that is my main computer). Yet...you really can make this an acceptable substitute in lots of ways.
I absolutely love it.

I was very excited about this card, not so much for its ability to upload photos to an online album, but for the ability to automatically transfer the pictures to my computer's hard drive using the home network.
What they don't tell you is that if you have satellite internet access (the ONLY high-speed available in my rural location) the card is USELESS because you have to connect to the Eye-Fi server in order to configure the card, and the Eye-Fi server cannot be contacted using Hughesnet (something about proxies). What's more, even if you have an alternate dial-up access, unless your wireless router allows sharing a dial-up connection, the card will still be useless because you have to be on the network that the card will be configured to use when you configure it online. It's all very badly designed, to my way of thinking. Customer service seemed unapologetic. Suggested I buy a "travel router" (for about $100), take one of my computers to a non-Hughes wireless access point, configure

Sony VAIO SZ Series 2.4GHz Laptop Computer-VAIO SZ760N/C T8300 2.4G 2GB SYST250GB DVDRW 13.3-WXGA XB
I'm not sure Amazon sent me a defected one or the Sony itself is seriously flaw designed . The fan is too noise, it starts to run as soon as the pc starts! I have dell apple, hp , they do not have this issue.I' m not sure it is normal or abnormal , anyway it is disappointing.

Bottom of the line MacBook Pro, 2.4 gHz. The trackpad features are totally cool and easy to use, the screen is bright and clear, computer is blazing fast. I'll buy more memory eventually from Crucial or OWC but it's great for now. Buy one!

I bought this device to digitize all of the papers I've accumulated over the years but have not been able to throw away -- receipts, tax forms, magazine articles, old college papers on which I got good grades, etc. I really hate having physical papers around and this lets me reduce the clutter around the house.
One particularly great feature is that it can simultaneously scan both sides of a document.
One caveat is that it's not great at reproducing all of the details in photographic/color docs, not to mention that it outputs only in PDF format. You wouldn't be using this to scan your old photos.

If you just need the basics... Do NOT be afraid to switch to linux and the ASUS Eee PC. This thing is the bomb for the money. It's perfect for beginners and seniors. My mother has never used a computer and had it figured out within an hour without touching the manual. Yes the screen is small but it's sharp. Plug this thing into a fullsize monitor and it's even more fun. I love it! This was the best money I EVER spent on a linux box. I have an 8G SD card on board and a Western Digital USB hard drive for backups... and it's the perfect solution. My old computer is on it's way to the garage... WOW! Look at all this desk space I now have!

I bought the Epson CX9400Fax yesterday, and I keep getting a "cannot recognize ink cartridges" message during the setup process. And these are the official Epson inks that were in the box with the printer! Their site's support pages were of no use, and so I decided to look for help through a search engine. What I discovered is that this problem is incredibly common with several Epson models. And the only recommendation the company's tech support seems to offer is to return the printer for an exchange. So yes, I'll be exchanging mine.... For an HP or Brother.

I'm sick of slow computers, computers that get viruses even when you have the protection, bugs, etc. This computer was an awesome buy, and it's also stylish. the windows vista took some getting used to, but it really is a great computer

With fast shooting high mega pixel DSLR cameras, the CF card can be a major performance factor. Write speeds, capacity, and power consumption all have an impact. This card also has a wider temperature range, is impact resistant, and includes recovery software. Why purchase an expensive digital camera only to use a card that cannot keep up?
The Extreme IV cards read/write with a 40 MB/sec sequential read/write speed. These fast write speeds are desirable with large image files especially when uploading to a computer. DSLR cameras often have a buffer which holds images while writing to the card during continuous shots. At some point the card cannot write fast enough, preventing the camera from shooting until the buffer clears enough room for another image. In these cases the camera cannot write as fast as the card, the quick speeds may only be noticeable while uploading images to your computer.
As CF cards continue to decrease in price, they increase capacity. 1GB cards are inexpensive

Do yourself a favor and save your hard earned cash.
You can buy a Nokia N800 for only $219 and it is a superior unit.
The processor and the OS are the same on both units. The N800 offers a superior expansion capability since you can use 2 standard SD memory cards. Each card can be up to 32GB each. The N810 cripples you only offering 1 memory expansion slot and it uses the more costly and harder to find non-standard miniSD card.
The keyboard on the N810 is only marginally useful and not at all worth paying an extra $200 for. Also the GPS is worthless being extremely slow to acquire a signal and the maps are worthless unless you pay an extra $139 per year for the service. When you can buy a real GPS unit that works well for $100-200 bucks why would anyone want to mess with this.
So...take a serious look at the N800 which is a marvelous unit. I love mine.

I recently purchased this machine as I am a desktop person and not a laptop person. Desktops always function better than laptops, are faster, cooler, and never have batteries that die. Besides, I go to Starbucks for coffee, not to sit there trying to impress people with my expensive toy. If I have a thought, want to send an email, or suddenly feel inspired to write the great American novel, I can wait until I get home to do so.
I am not disappointed with my purchase. I read excellent reviews on Best Buys' website about this Compaq and they are correct. You can save on the tax of course if you purchase here as the price is the same as at BB. I was replacing a seven year old Emachine computer.
Times have changed, this Compaq (HP) is so quiet and runs so smoothly it's not even comparable to my old Pentium 4 machine. I had some initial concerns about Vista as it's such a RAM hog but the two megs that come with the machine keep it running fairly quickly. Vista is very smooth and slick and

For years, we have been happy users of a Netgear MR314 wireless router. But it didn't reach the farthest corner of our home. In looking at various routers, I found many mixed reviews for the newer Netgear routers, so decided to try the Linksys WRT160N. We use almost nothing but Macs in our home.
Setup: Forget the included CD that comes with this router, it is Windows only. It does have the User Guide as a PDF buried in one of the folders. But it is not much help.
Instead, just turn on the router, look for the wireless signal (or plug in directly using an ethernet cable), then use FireFox - the current Safari doesn't work and any changes cause a "server unexpectedly dropped connection" error.
Type: 192.168.1.1 in the browser, then user name "linksys" and password "admin" to get the web based setup menus.
From there, if you have any questions, click on the "Help" link for the individual pages. The help there is much better than in the User Guide.

I was looking for ultraportability and high quality. I got it. if you only really use your laptop for checking email, surfing, IM'ing and short documents, then you don't need an expensive machine. Don't let Linux frighten you off. I love it, and will never go back to Windows.

On the surface, The Lexmark X5470 looks like a great deal; it is a copier, printer, scanner and fax too. It also has an automatic document feeder and can print pictures directly from the memory card thru the built in PicBridge port and media card slot, however, you need a special photo color cartridge in place of the black ink cartridge. You can copy / scan /fax using the flat bed or the document feeder. All that at around $80. But the good stuff ends there.
Print quality is poor, picture quality is even worse; and it uses ink like there is no tomorrow, expect around 150 pages before the Lexmark starts telling you to order new ink cartridge. If you want to get a generic or refilled ink cartridge, the Lexmark does not like that, and it will keep telling you that it's out of original ink. You may even get an error message to change the cartridge and the machine will stop working until you do so. In short, you will have to use the original Lexmark ink cartridges at around $50 for the pair.

The title of this item is "320GB My Passport Essential 2.5IN Blue". But the description clearly states that the item is ONLY 250GB of storage space. I almost purchased this item because it was listed as close to $30.00 less expensive than another Western Digital 320GB. I figured it was less expensive because the color Blue was in less demand. Instead it is because it is a totally different product with fewer gigabytes of storage. READ UP BEFORE YOU OPEN UP (your wallet that is).

What sold me on this computer was the Blu Ray player (it plays beautifully Blu Ray pre-recorded DVDs) and recorder. I got a 50GB rewritable disc, which is expensive but it holds 50GB of information!! I remember back when a standard DVD costs quite a bit and they only hold 7.4GB. I plan on downloading and editing video from my Canon HD camera and then burning the results out to Blu Ray Discs. Full 1080. That's another reason that the 500GB hard drive is useful. There is an upgrade model that offers a double sized hard drive. I'll follow up if there are any problems.
There's been a lot of talk about the negatives of the Vista operating system. I have had absolutely no problem with it, especially after downloading the Windows updates. This is a large corporation, They're going to fix any problems
But this computer... A 22" brilliant screen with a 500GB hard drive and 3GB of RAM!
There was no manual included with my computer and I think that this was just an oversight. I didn't

I have Sony SZ110 laptop which I bought two years ago. I decide to look for a new one since the Sony seems to run very slow consider the amount of money I paid for the Sony one($1500). I have looked at HP, Dell, Gateway, and Toshiba, and then decide to go with this HP. I did a custom build this laptop on HP site and cost around $1250. When I saw at best buy discount for $799 ($100 off), I didn't wait very long. I have been a long fan of Sony due to their quality, however, this time it is HP.
Pros: 1) I like the design and the finishing - very shine and glossy. At night when you turn it on, the blue light on the laptop looks outstanding 2) The performance is very good. I have alot of software on this machine including Adobe CS3 suite and this thing shut down in 30 seconds and will boot everything up in 1 minute - fully load. 3) A great price for this kind of laptop.
Cons: 1) The volume control is slow to reponse when using the assign buttons. 2) this baby give out heat about 20-30%

I've been a Mac user for over 7 years and am on my fourth computer, and by far, this one is my favorite!
This MacBook Pro is the most balanced one they've come out with, and it has all of the most up-to-date features including these key ones:
1. Runs cooler than my friends' previous version MBP
2. Mulit-touch is nice but I don't use it a lot
3. Upgraded iSight camera makes for great video chatting and works perfectly with many other programs. I use it almost daily for video journaling
4. LED screen isn't "new" for this model, but it is a great feature that makes the screen look wonderful
5. More storage on the entry-level model than before
All in all, I'm very satisfied with this computer and would recommend it to anyone looking for a solid laptop that has speed but isn't huge. Also, the size difference compared to the MacBook is minimal in my opinion. Sometimes this actually seems smaller given the sleeker design.
Of course, the only drawback is the price, but over the life of the
