This little guy is really popular right now. I'd be tempted if it were a Linux box.

Well I have had mixed results. The 1st IQ506 I got was crap. I had system recoveries and OS lock ups continuously. I also lost the touchscreen completely and the Keyboard LED light was intermittent. I called HP they swore the PC was bulletproof. Well after working with the techs at HP I finally said enough and exchanged the PC. The nmew one appears to be working fine, time will tell. I did see the DVD comments and will be checking that immediately. WHile I feel there are some serious QUALITY issues with all HP products (I also got a lemon laptop from them) I do think this PC is a very nice and unique layout. I would hope that for the $1500+ per unit HP will put some serious minds behind correcting and flaws. After working On PC hardware now for years both in the build and repair areas I felt the PC problem APPEARED (my opinion) to be a power related issue. The faulty one I had appeared to be having intermittent failures throughout the system. In my experience this is usually power supply related. I cannot confirm this as I am not paid to fix HP's PCs for them ;) I would bet that a larger and more robust power supply may correct these "lemons". Take care and good luck!

Yeah, I'd be a bit wary considering the reviews and the fact that 1TB drivees are so new.

STAY Away. Pure garbage. Support has ignored (and is still ignoring) emails and no call backs. The partition just went away.
For your own sanity (and your data) stay away!!!

Really tempted to get one of these. I've got a 17" Powerbook G4 that's getting a tad slow right now, so a core 2 duo would do me good.

I have an older linksys WRT54G model.
I found some various opensource firware versions for it.... After doing so, i could tweak the power output, etc, for optimum SNR.
You may be able to do the same thing with either router mentioned above.

Just an update: I have not rebooted this router since i posted about it here. That was three months ago. This thing works great, no need to get a new "N" router thats for sure.

No, they've just got a few bugs to iron out with the Intel hardware. I believe it's a software problem and hopefully they'll get it fixed in their OS.

"There are however some problems with the compatibility. It locks up randomly on very rare occasions."
What happened? Sounds like you installed windows on it.
