Panasonic SC-BT300 1250W 7.1 Channel Blu-ray Disc Home Theater Sound System
+ 0 likes
This is by far the best Home Theater System in a Box that I have ever owned. The sound quality from BluRay movies is unbeatable. I have everything in my home run through this system, XBOX 360, Satellite, and of Course BluRay. Past reviewers have requested HDMI on the back, but I don't see the need for this. I run everything to my Samsung LED TV via HDMI, then sent it all back to the Panasonic HT receiver via Digital Fiber Optic input, the sound is crisp and on point. I have recently purchased G.I. Joe and Transformers 2 on BluRay and watched it on the setup as described, after veiwing I wondered why I ever saw them in the theater.

Sony DVP-SR200P/B DVD Player, Black

Easy, simple and fast and great price! I love the fact that it is compact and opens and closes fast. Also,it starts play time fast. The down side is that if you lose the remote control then you cannot forward or rewind. The only way to forward, rewind and volume is through the remote control. The DVD itself only has the Stop, Play, Eject. Great product I highly recommend it especially as a second simple and straight forward DVD player to own.

And the rear speakers are wireless. You dont have speakers wires running all around the room. i rented one from rent-a-center just to see how it may work but i took theirs back. I went and bought my own and saved $300.00 and it is a great surround sound system.

Samsung HT-WS1G Speaker Bar

We got the soundbar to work for our TV (Sharp LCD), but couldn't adjust any sound settings. We couldn't get the Dolby surround sound feature to work, only PCM sound. Couldn't change any sound options through the TV, where you HAVE to do that. The subwoofer is terrible, very very weak and you can't adjust the volume on it. (at least through a Sharp TV). We couldn't get the soundbar to work at all for our PS3 or computer since the bar only has ONE output and it's not even HDMI (and no inputs).

For the price, you really can't beat this complete system. We have a Samsung 56" DLP and the sound from the stock speakers was terrible. It did not have a good bass range or trebel range and cracked a lot when something tested its boundaries.

After hooking up this sound system to it, the sound was exponentially better. It has a wide range of bass and trebel and can be adjusted to several preset levels (music, stereo, movie, etc.) Though movie is the only setting that uses the rear channels. The sound is very crisp and very clear and the surround works similar to systems double or triple the price.

The only downfalls would be a.) the lack of an equalizer and b.) the thin, cheap speaker wires. Because there is no equalizer, there is no way to manually adjust the sound and as such, it is alright although the trebel range can be a little deafening at high volumes. The speaker wires are thin and low quality and since they each have a propriatary plug for the speakers, you cannot

I needed a new Dvd player, because I purchased a new flat sreen HD
Television, and my original Dvd unit was already about 8 yeras old.
I felt that I was not getting the best picture quality from my old unit,so I
decided to purchase a unit with up conversion capabilities, I was totally surprised by the picture quality of this Sony Dvd upconversion player.
I would recommend this unit anyone considering to up grade there
Dvd units,with this one.

TiVo TCD652160 HD Digital Video Recorder

The TiVo was really easy to set up. This model was much better than the prior generation which I also own. A surprise and delight were the ability to link my older TiVo to this one and view recorded shows anywhere. Also enjoy the internet features as well as the ability to view my Netflix selections.

Set up was a snap. I had the theater system befor my tv arived and it worked great to down grade to my smaller tv. Once the 58" Panasonic Plasma arrive, it was ON!!! ease of use and picture quality are through the roof. I am 100% sold on Panasonic as a top tier brand.

TiVo TCD652160 HD Digital Video Recorder

Here in Central NY and in many other areas of the country, cable companies are providing many of their digital channels using Switched Digital Video (SDV). The TiVo can not receive any of these switched channels without an external box called a Tuning Adapter. Tuning Adapters are provided by cable companies for free but there are an incredible number of problems with them - all across the country. Go to www.tivocommunity.com, type "tuning adapter" in the advanced search box and then select a thread for your cable company or your part of the country. There are thousands of posts here - all bad.

My particular problem is the one called "missing channels." Rather than include details here, you can find them on the forum above. Essentially, the problem makes it impossible to reliably record on all but a very few of the digital channels that I pay my cable company to provide. And, usually I can't even watch them live without restarting the Tuning Adapter and waiting for it reboot - a

It's a TiVo. It's a really good TiVo. What more can I say? Works great, relatively easily upgradeable (tho this voids the warranty), and (with an 'M' cablecard or two 'S' cablecards) can still record two shows while watching a third (prerecorded).

Samsung HT-WS1R Speaker Bar

This is a good sound bar. Those who are disappointed need to realize that this is a sound bar with a sub. This is not a 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound system. It is what it is.... That being said, it looks great. One of the reasons I bought it was to match my red touch of color Samsung LCD. I currently live in an apartment and had nowhere to put a full surround sound system. This is a great compromise and I will likely just move this along with my tv to the bedroom when I upgrade my TV in the next year or two.

The bar is wall-mountable which is nice. The sound is pretty good. It is much louder and clearer than the TV. It only has a few sound settings to choose from, I just leave it on the default (bar) setting. The Sub includes a foam insert if you need to need to tone it down some (works great as I live in an apartment and have a fiance with a different sleeping schedule.)

Those complaining about the inputs, I don't follow. I have it connected through the optical connection

LG RC897T Multi-Format DVD Recorder and VCR Combo with Digital Tuner

Don't buy, manual worthless throw it in the garbage and write down the 800 number, you will being using it a lot. Never have had so much trouble trying to get a recorder to work, most ot the time I don't even have to look at the manual. Should of taken it back but was busy at the time and my 30 day return ran out, big mistake. If this represents Life Good (LG) products it is a real bad sigh. I would list all the problems however I do not have the time,
just do not buy this product, any other choice you make will be better.

Panasonic DMR-EZ28K DVD Recorder with 1080p Upconversion

I should have read the other reviews before I purchased this. with 46 years in the electronics industry it's the biggest piece of junk I have ever owned. Bought in Feb. Went to service in March and May, finally sent me a replacement unit, just died today. When it works it's slow to respond to anything and has to be "reset" often. SAVE YOUR MONEY. DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT!

didn't see in the fine print that it required two cable cards to be fully functional. So add the cost of the cable cards, the cost of the tivo fee (not included) and it gets to be really expensive

Panasonic DMP-BD80 High Clarity Audio Blu-ray Disc Player, Black

I bought this blu ray disc player solely for the reason that it had 7.1 analog inputs. This blu ray player allows those of us who have spent thousands of dollars building a quality home theater to keep our old equipment instead starting all over again in order to enjoy the benefits of blu ray. If you have a reciever with hdmi you don't need this blu ray player... buy the cheaper version without the 7.1 analog outputs. If you don't like tweaking your equipment and you have lots of cash, buy a new reciever. It took a little extra effort to set up the player to use only the video from the hdmi, and use the sound from the analog outputs. Then you have to adjust all of your speaker and subwoofer levels again. The extra effort is worth it for those of us with a budget. For under two hundred dollars, this blu ray player does all you need it to do and the picture and sound quality is great. I upgraded the firmware before I ever used it and I have not had a single problem playing any disc.

Samsung HT-WS1R Speaker Bar

Over all a great setup at a great price. Perfect sound for watching TV but should have a bass adjustment for watching movies could be louder. And the wireless subwoofer is great no ugly wires to run along the wall. However they should have put the wireless reciever for the sub on the front so it could be hidden under a side table I dont care for it out in the open looking like more clutter. And the wall mount should extend out from the wall a few inches to make flush with my wall mounted Plasma I was able to put spacers between it and it looks pretty sweet under the TV . The automatic on/off feature is realy nice and works with your samsung TV remote. shut off the sound to the TV and you got a great sounding TV

I got this sound system for my bedroom. Its hooked up to my 32" LG LCD TV. IT has great simulated surround sound. You almost dont even know you are listening to a 2.1 channel sound system. The sound bar gives it a very clean look. I would recommend this product to anyone. And as far as the bad reviews people have been giving. The funny souds might have to do with how they hook the sound bar up to their TV. I used a digital optical cable and I get fantastic clear sound.

Panasonic DMR-EZ28K DVD Recorder with 1080p Upconversion

This device works as a DVD recorder as an upgrade from the VCR with the successful transition to digital TV from analog TV. The benefit of this recorder includes
a digital tuner for the price,
has many input capabilities,
HDMI output for ease of connection,
fairly good upconversion to 1080p,
records onto many DVD formats,
and fairly easy to understand.

This device is NOT intended as a digital tuner upgrade for analog TVs as it is EXTREMELY slow to switch between channels.

The issues I have with this device includes the fact that the remote lacks an eject button,
the remote lacks extensive control of the TV making it fairly useless as a multi-device remote,
the DVD recorder freezes once in a while when faced with unsupported video formats with few user friendly remedies to reset the recorder (ie hold the ON button for 30+ seconds, hit the reset button with a paper clip, or unplugging the device completely),
the player doesn't play MPEG

OK ... so there's really nothing bad about the system itself. It looks great, sounds great, works great. I'm an IT guy so I had no problem setting up the wireless connection. Having read previous reviews .. yes, I could see how it would be a little difficult for those not too familiar with all the "ins and outs" of wireless technology. But if you know wireless, this isn't that hard.

Having said that .. why do I give it 1 stars overall?

Because of the acursed firmware update!!!
Beware the firmware update!!!

Here's another forum talking about this:
http://club.myce.com/f36/problem-firmware-update-samsung-ht-bd1250-301614/

Sometime around September-ish? Samsung published a firmware update that causes the head unit to simply display "LOAD" each time you turn in on. So as of this writing, I'm taking it back to Best Buy to exchange it for a new one.
