Overall I find the speakers to be absolutely brilliant. I purchased them early this year for my dorm room at college. I have some older, much larger floorstanding speakers at home that just wouldn't fit into the confined spaces of a dorm room. When I went in to BB to buy speakers, I had previously narrowed it down to the bose 301s and these. My brother owns a pair of 301s and they truly are amazing, but they only thing they have on these polks are a little more low-end. However, for $100 more than these, I find that the reward of a bit more bass isn't worth the price. Honestly, I prefer the sound of these over the bose, they fill in the mid ranges better and their highs aren't as harsh on the ears at loud volumes. I would highly recommend these speakers to anyone!

• After reading many reviews from BB and other resources, I was confused why so called audiophiles tend to stray and/or have negative comments about DT speakers. I am no audiophile, but I love great sounding audio from movies and music. That said, I bought the Pro 1000 without hearing it first and connected it to my 5.1 system and was very impressed with what I heard. This speaker replaced and infinity (good speaker) and the audio quality improvement was immediately noticeable even before calibration.
• The center channel information is very precise without being overbearing. In fact, this speaker blends very well with the rest of the speakers. I had been satisfied previously with the center channel being autonomous, but now I really like the improved sound stage and how I feel more surrounded (in a very good way) by the audio. I have become very accustomed to my original speakers over time, but I am now strongly considering a 100% DT speaker system. In a word, Bravo!

Bought this due to the size of the room I was placing it in. After hearing them in action in the Magnolia sound room I realized these could easily be used in a much larger room (in case I moved out of my townhome and into a single family home). The speakers sound awesome turned down (crisp) and when I crank them up it booms and still retains their clarity.
I swaped out my Bose speakers for these smaller ones and they sound just as good if not better. The company's patented Omnipolar technology disperses sound evenly in a perfect 360º pattern, delivering a lifelike, three-dimensional sound experience unlike any other. You can't tell where the speakers are placed in the room because of it.

I concur with all other previous reviewers! This speaker is the best center channel at Best Buy currently. I bought it to go with a pair of 800 bookshelf speakers also by Definitive. Voices sound crisp and true to life, like the person talking is in the room. If you are looking for a cure to your lost dialogue in movies this is the speaker for you. I would say Definitive is the best out thier for subs, satellites, bookshelf, and center channel. All the speakers in my 9.1 home theater system are from Definitive and it makes watching anything from movies to sports an amazing experience.

The sound is decent for the price, but it produces a pretty dull bass. Works fine for my little house, but would definitely prefer stronger sound and more definition.
But then again, I'm used to $3000 subs.. so who's to complain for $99.

I am rebuilding a 7.1 system for my home office 11 X 11 in size. I now have a Denon 2310ci, an LG 1080P LCD, a Sony Blue Ray player, a HD STB, and my computer connected via a toslink cable.
It was time to place some focus on the speakers. Having Def Techs in my living room for a few years now and getting good service out of them, I decided to look at Def Techs again.
I started out looking at the Promonitor 1000s, and although the sound was great, I decided that they were just too much for the space. I then turned my attention to the Promonitor 800s. I asked the Magnolia sales person to select the 800s on the display, run them through the 2310ci that they have on display, and also connect the Promonitor 800 sub which I already have.
I have to tell you that I was blown away by the sound being pumped out of these relatively small speakers. The highs are crisp, the midrange clean, and bass through the 800 sub is just wonderful.
I am extremely pleased with

I recently bought the PSW111 + Polk RM75 satellites + Pioneer VSX-1019AH-K receiver, to give a complete 5.1 sound system for my living room, plus a 2nd kitchen zone and future expandibility to 7.1. I use it for watching TV and movies, and listening to radio and music. My musical tastes are eclectic....sometimes I listen to pop, MP3s or internet radio where the sound quality of the source is limited and thus I don't need a nice system to fully appreciate it. At other times, though, I listen to hi-fi classical or acoustic recordings, such that any weaknesses of a poor sound system will be exposed. I don't consider myself to be an audio snob in the sense that I have to have only high-end ultra-expensive components to be happy. However I have 10+ years experience designing audio consumer electronics chips like DACs and power amplifiers, and on occasion have tested them in premium listening environments. So I feel I know some things about good vs. bad sound quality.

Second set of Bose of the last 15 years. With the powered bass module, the low ends are much more responsive, even sometimes overwhelming. Been a Bose fan for years. Got them on sale, so that helped with the decision to make the purchase.

I like the unit, but claiming 60' reach may be a bit of an exageration. At a little over 1/2 of this distance the signals fades. Perhaps if there are no thick walls or obstacles b/t the computer and the unit the sound may reach the stated distance.

Hello Guys. I have one this amazing little wireless speaker from Bose. I will tell you shortly what is good about it. It is a very light and compact, nice looking carry around the house unit. Pretty simple to install in your computer. Using tiny USB antenna module. Select the sound source on your computer, select sound card output for Bose and thats it. The cool thing that you can control and switch between playlists and trucks when in iTunes source, using the unit remote. Now I can listen FM radio stations from Moscow Russia in my case or all over the World in your case, while in the kitchen, basement, garage, jacuzzi. The sound is very clear and loud for the unit size, great batteries life too. So I am very happy with it so far. Bose+++++.

I was looking for surrounds for my new 7.1 theater in the basement. I spent way too much on the front 3 and sub, so I was looking for a way to cut back a little without sacrificing too much in sound. Fortunately, these low end Polk RC60i speakers fit the bill perfectly. I have heard some other in ceiling speakers in this price range and was wary of what the competition was offering. I was pleasantly surprised when I had these Polk RC60i speakers installed and hooked up to my AVR. Now, although they are rated for 20-100 watts per channel per the Polk Audio website, my AVR pushes 140 WPC @ 8 ohms and the RC60i's handled the extra power flawlessly. Before I had the entire 7.1 system installed, I ran a pair of these as the fronts and was able to turn the volume up quite loudly without any audible distortion. Installation was easy (I bought a drywall "circle cutting" tool from Lowes that made things a LOT easier). The most important steps occur BEFORE you cut the drywall. Plan and mark

I am sure all identical speakers have the same power BUT not the sound effects. It all depends on the receiver they are equipped to.
My receiver, from what I think, delivers perfect sound/bass/treble to these speakers. I LOVE the way these speakers sounds. And it all is because of the receiver I have; I have set the frequence and bass to max and these speakers are roaring in the roam and EXTREMELY clear.

You get what you pay for, and in this case I got more than I paid for! This little guy is quite cheap for the quality of sound it delivers. It sounds just like a $300 subwoofer.

Awesome sound for a compact, non-home theater system. Only problem is it won't sync with my Cox cable box remote, strange given how many Cox users there are out there. It did sync easily to my TV remote, but now I need two remotes, as the volume is only controlled by my TV remote and the TV by the Cox remote. I tried to sync it a dozen times to no avail. The TV remote synced up the first try. Otherwise a great system. I even run my iPod through it.

Nice size. Great sound. Not alot of big boom boom bass , but enough to cover what is needed as far as I see or hear it should be. Nothing really bad about this unit considering the price. Just can not compare to anything I saw on net or heard in stores. Don't wait buy it. For the price you got a deal !!!!

I got this free along with a set of 2 Klipsch 35 front speakers. Plugged them with Onkyo receiver. The sound that these produce together is too good. These sound better than the speaker system in the Regal theaters next to my complex. Already demonstrated these to my friend who got his own set in the same deal. Very happy with this purchase.

I am not satisfied with this product! The background noise is agravating to say the least, and will not go away no matter what I do. I would like to get a credit or my money back for this product! It also does not seem to seperate the channels in the stereo output. I am not happy and am about to dump this system back on the Best Buy counter!

My Panasonic 46" G10 2 speaker 20 watt internal system is terrible. My Panasonic 42" 700u has a much better 4 speaker system. I bought the Boston system to improve the sound on the G10, and it is 100% better and easily learned my Panasonic remote comands. I had been using a Sony soundbar with the G10, but needed a separate remote to control volume. It wouldn't learn my Panasonic remote. I guess I'll find someone with a Sony TV and give it away.

I needed a wireless sub because my components (receiver, dvr, and dvd player) are kept in a media closet off my living room. Running wires would have been painful. This was a great solution to complete my home theater.

Packaged beautifully and did not charge extra for delivery to Alaska unlike so many other compannies. Best part was it does the job! No audible hum was observed unlike another poster. Wondered if he did not break it in properly with the 50 hour strongly recommended break in limit. Subwoofer is beautifully crafted....looks and feels like the outside of a black baby grand piano. I bought this in conjunction with the Energy Take 5.0 speaker system as the Energy Take 5.1 system was generally $70.00 more and this subwoofer is the exact same one that is included in the 5.1 system. Go figure! (I paid $179.00 for the 5.0 speakers and $149.00 for the subwoofer. Prices include shipping costs.)
