Overall I am very pleased with the radio. Sound quality is very good for its size. However, setup was extremely frustrating using a 2Wire HomePortal 1000HW wireless modem (about 5 years old). I finally conceded to several online recommendations to use a newer model wireless modem. I bought an Actiontec GT724-WG. Radio setup with the new wireless modem was a breeze.

This is a great product. Too bad they don't stock it in the stores. It has a small footprint yet it is very loud and has good sound quality. The tuner is very good quality. There is no external antennae to mess with yet it still has great radio reception.

Had the Philips BTM630, but stopped working within 8 months.
I found this sony dock as a replacement. As I go to get ready to get it out of the box, it was ready to go, litterally. Awesome, but was very dissapointed that this dock has no equalizer. There was also no Mute button, which helps for unwanted commercials. I was hoping Sony would be smart and add Bluetooth. Had they added bluetooth, I would forget about the rest of the stuff.
Overall, had it for 2 weeks so far, sound is INCREDIBLE. Get it!!!

Overall a great alarm clock. I was amazed to finally find something in between of "iPod specific" and "bare-bones". 2 alarm modes with either radio, buzzer OR mp3 player input = a happy person. On;y down side that I can really think of is that the LCD display is a bit too bright at night, even in the dimmest setting. I find I have to turn it away from my face at 3am. Other than that, mint.

I was looking for a clock radio that had preset stations as I hate trying to tune to different stations at night in the dark. This radio does have that feature but the buttons are a tad too small and do not stick up from the surface of the radio so that makes it a little difficult to find and push the correct ones. And trying to find the up down tuning buttons is a challenge when lying on your back and reaching over to manual tune. The bright medium and dim display lighting might be fine for some but I find the dim just too brite for me. I have to put something in front to block the light. Overall I rate the radio good and a good purchase

I purchased this unit mainly because I own an iPhone and wanted to listen to the music off my iPhone, which works well. However, the reception from the radio leaves a lot to be desired. I had read this on other reviews, but was so focused on use with my iPhone, I did not pay that much attention to these concerns, plus optimistically thought that might just be where they had their units. Mine is on a nightstand right under a window, and still doesn't get good reception.

Good price for a basic radio, quick delivery. The radio was very easy to set up and operation can be done by a non-techie (my wife). Web site to build favorites packages was easy to access, although they didn't have all the stations my wife wanted and some stations go off the air at times.
Would be perfect if the light panel could be dimmed and if there's a simple indicator to tell if a station is off the air.
Not using USB interface, but it seems to work well.
The first internet using product my wife actually says works well and is not techie oriented!

1. Fine sound for the size, really liked that. 2. Waaaaaay too complicated to set things. This is one of those, "We're only going to give you 10 buttons, so to set an alarm, you have to hit this button, then hit that button 4 times, then hit a third button. Complete pain in the neck to get to simple features. I might put up with that, but if you're the sort of person who is frustrated by utterly mysterious ergonomics, be aware, this unit is the anti-iPhone. 3. The system uses an automated CD insert -- you slide the CD into the front of the unit and a little motorized gripper pulls it in or pushes it out when you hit eject. After two weeks, mine stopped working. If I want to hear The Goldberg Variations, it's great, but I was sort of thinking that it would play lots of DIFFERENT CDs, not just the one I put in a week ago! Bottom line: I'm returning the unit with my CD of the Goldberg Variations still inside it, because I can't get the furshlugginer thing out. I figure if it

I received the speaker system a couple of days ago and could not be more excited. The sound is FANTASTIC! I am actually giving my sister my Bose Wave Machine and buying another iHome IP1 system. Merry Christmas to ME!

I bought this in an electronics store at the mall where they had one out on display and I could pop in my iPhone 3GS to test it. I've got a fairly simple set of criteria that I'm getting pretty good at testing for: 1) Does it charge the 3GS? Yes. (my older clock radio did not) 2) Is it easy to make the device play music? Yes. (you'd be amazed at how many iPod speakers require significant fussing to get them to play the iPod) 3) Can I listen to Internet radio? Yes. (Some devices will only play the iPod) 4) Will it wake to muisc? Yes. (Again, not all of them do) 5) Is the sound quality respectable? Yes. For a device the size of a Toblerone bar, this thing is amazing. Not much bass and it won't make your ears bleed, but it's clean and accurate and makes you feel you're listening to decent stereo rather than an alarm clock. This is the first device I've owned that made me want to pop my iPhone in, fire up a Genius playlist and listen. The button selection is as simple as

this is a product which is valuable with this price.
It sounds great with Ipod and wakes you up with generosity - you can understand what I mean when you hear the sound in the morning.
the exterior of the product is little bit disappointing.

I was just looking for a sound system for my desk at work, hoping that I could find one that would also recharge my iPhone 3G, and this baby has far exceeded my expectations. It's easy to use, with no adapter needed for the iPhone 3G. The remote control actually works many of the music functions and can shut down iTunes. I've come across a lot of these docking stations that require adapters, give you errors with iPhones, have poor sound quality, and just aren't a good value. This one was an instant hit with me and almost didn't make it to the office when I tried it out at home. I couldn't believe the incredible sound quality and volume this unit delivers. It was also a great way to keep my phone charged. I can't report about the alarm clock features since I don't use it for that purpose, but I can't believe it would be any different from how well everything else works. Oh, and I've yet to read the operating instructions!

So far I am extemely happy with this item. It works perfectly with my iPod and produces a much bigger sound than you would suspect. I have one made by Klipsh for my bedroom and I put this one with my HD setup in the family room.

I have searched hard to find the "perfect" iPod alarm clock. For me, the iHome iP9 comes closer than anything else I found, but it does have some very annoying flaws. In my opinion, the best features are: * The alarm can be set to wake to a random song on an "iHome" playlist on your iPod. Only Sanyo seems to have a product with a similar feature, but I think theirs looks REALLY ugly. * The backlight dimmer has 7 levels of brightness and can even be turned off. * You can adjust the snooze time from 1 to 29 minutes in 1-minute increments. * The alarm volume (for radio and iPod) gradually increases for "gentle" waking. * The sound quality is quite good for such a small unit. The things that annoy me about the unit are: * The alarm set buttons are located directly behind the snooze bar, and hitting one of these buttons resets the alarm when the alarm is sounding. While the snooze bar is very big and has a bump that you can feel with your fingers, I fear that I will accidentally turn

I really enjoy my little unit. It really sounds better than I expected and is much smaller than I expected. It is about the size of my boy's size 4 Etnie Shoe, Maybe just a bit wider.
Setup was extremely easy. Just make sure to sign up for the account onlilne prior and just enter your user name and password into the unit. You can register your user accounts for Slacker, Pandora, Rhapsody, etc into the website and just select the accounts on the unit. Your stations and playlists will be ready to to.
The only thing that kinda sucks is I really wish I had the battery pack already (I heard it will be available either this or next month.) as I really want to just carry this little unit around wherever I am and just rock without having to plug it in.
I can definitely say that I am extremely pleased with this unit and the support in the squeezebox forums is awesome. I had an issue with a stations url and I had an answer within an hour of posting my issue. All said, If you are considering

This was very disappointing. The sound is decent, but I was shocked to find that Sony did not include a dock adapter for any version of the iPod. Adapters for the iPhone were included. Not only was there no iPod dock, but Sony also does not ship batteries for the remote. I would look at competitive products.

This is my 2nd attempt at buying an ipod dock. This review is to just point out one thing that I missed but you may already know. This unit has a FAN! The FAN is on whenever the unit is on. It's not particularly loud, but it's also not silent and can be pretty distracting! A fan in these kind of audio devices, especially a clock radio that's mean to be used in the bedroom, is just not acceptable!! We all know what happens to fans, they become louder and louder and breaks down eventually (sooner than you think it would, trust me. I have 2 computer devices failed because the fan failed in one way or another). Audio devices needs to be silent, period. The power brick also emits a humming noise, although you have to listen closely for it. If you stand up and it's on the floor, you probably won't hear it. But I imagine it can be easily heard in the night if it's in your bedroom. Other than the above 2 fatal flaws, the unit is pretty nice. Sound quality is quite good, the FM tuner is good,

I am very impressed. Not only are the expected standard features great, such as the better than expected sound for its size, the remote, and the full radio and alarm features, etc., but it works completely with the iPhone 3G!! The radio's controls and remote fully integrate with the iPhone's ipod player, the 3G charges through the Sany radio, and best of all the Sony radio even plays streaming music/apps, such as the Sirius/XM app.. The Sony radio plays the Sirius/XM app's streaming music through the radio's speakers, which is a great plus. Highly recommended!!!

I bought this to replace an I-Pod dock/ speaker that had suddenly refused to play my I-Pod. I heard this radio at BestBuy one evening and was amazed at the sound quality. Instead of buying it at BestBuy, I though I could get a better price at amazon. I was correct. Even with shipping I saved $15.00 by buying off of Amazon. There were a few things that I noticed while setting up: 1. The AC adapter is gigantic! 2. For good reception, the dipole antenna needs to be FAR apart. I taped in to the underside of a window ledge. As soon as I turned it on it connected to my Classic Rock station broadcasting in HD. I was amazed! There was no static at all. It was like listening to my high bitrate recording. I then set it to scan. To my surprise, my Classic Rock station was broadcasting a Hard Rock station on the same frequency! I turned it to National Public Radio, it immediately connected to HD. N.P.R. had always had really good reception, but now it was just awesome. No hissing,

There are many things I like about the iHome. However it does NOT work well with my Itouch 2G. My first unit worked well for about 2 days and then began freezing up. The buttons would not work, the time did not change, etc. I "reset" the unit and tried again. Worked well for 2 days and did the same thing. I contacted Amazon and they very quickly sent me another unit. After 2 days it did the same thing. Upon reading reviews I learned that others had the same types of problems but only if they were using the ITOUCH. I tried some experiments. This time I did not dock anything and only used the radio. Worked beautifully. Then I put another Ipod on and so far things are great. I like being able to go to sleep with my ipod music and wake to the radio station. I like the sound quality of the iHome.
