Aluratek AIRMM01 Internet Radio Alarm Clock with built-in WiFi (Black)

Overall I am very pleased with the radio. Sound quality is very good for its size. However, setup was extremely frustrating using a 2Wire HomePortal 1000HW wireless modem (about 5 years old). I finally conceded to several online recommendations to use a newer model wireless modem. I bought an Actiontec GT724-WG. Radio setup with the new wireless modem was a breeze.

Excellent Sound, lots of features and all kinds of connections. Setup of sound profiles for various inputs is full featured but can get confusing. Almost too many options.

Polk Audio TSi100 Bookshelf Speakers (Pair, Cherry)

Overall I find the speakers to be absolutely brilliant. I purchased them early this year for my dorm room at college. I have some older, much larger floorstanding speakers at home that just wouldn't fit into the confined spaces of a dorm room. When I went in to BB to buy speakers, I had previously narrowed it down to the bose 301s and these. My brother owns a pair of 301s and they truly are amazing, but they only thing they have on these polks are a little more low-end. However, for $100 more than these, I find that the reward of a bit more bass isn't worth the price. Honestly, I prefer the sound of these over the bose, they fill in the mid ranges better and their highs aren't as harsh on the ears at loud volumes. I would highly recommend these speakers to anyone!

Definitive Technology ProCenter 1000 Compact Center Speaker (Single, Black)

• After reading many reviews from BB and other resources, I was confused why so called audiophiles tend to stray and/or have negative comments about DT speakers. I am no audiophile, but I love great sounding audio from movies and music. That said, I bought the Pro 1000 without hearing it first and connected it to my 5.1 system and was very impressed with what I heard. This speaker replaced and infinity (good speaker) and the audio quality improvement was immediately noticeable even before calibration.
• The center channel information is very precise without being overbearing. In fact, this speaker blends very well with the rest of the speakers. I had been satisfied previously with the center channel being autonomous, but now I really like the improved sound stage and how I feel more surrounded (in a very good way) by the audio. I have become very accustomed to my original speakers over time, but I am now strongly considering a 100% DT speaker system. In a word, Bravo!

Sony ICF-C705 AM/FM Clock Radio

This is a great product. Too bad they don't stock it in the stores. It has a small footprint yet it is very loud and has good sound quality. The tuner is very good quality. There is no external antennae to mess with yet it still has great radio reception.

Pioneer VSX-519V-K 5-Channel A/V Receiver (Black)

I have my receiver connected to my 50" Panasonic LCD/HDTV (you will need the video outlet cable from back of your TV to connect to the Pioneer Receiver---NO HDMI CABLE). As well i have my Pioneer Blue Ray DVD connected to the Receiver and have four (4) in Ceiling speakers (Yamaha) and a Sony (Sub-Woofer) ground level and this is just amazing the sound effects with only the receiver set @ 40 volumen level. If the volumen is increased to 60 it's just OUTSTANDING. I use this system to view NFL,MLB & NBA with every game it just sound so real like you're at the actual game. My daughters watch there movies and the sound effects are just great. It's a shame i just bought all the equipment after the New York Yankees won the World Series but i have it downloaded on my laptop and have connected my laptop as well to the system (just for this viewing ) but you ca adapt your you CP to the receiver and use the TV as your screen is just perfect. I will be setting up my seconf family after the holidays

Pioneer VSX-519V-K 5-Channel A/V Receiver (Black)

This receiver is by far one of the best purchases that I have made when it comes to enhancing my stereo system. I mean I have some big speakers which I never could get the full use out of because of weak receivers. With this receiver I have no problems with allowing my speakers to be used at their full potential. Great clear sound, very compatible with numerous inputs including HDMI and hooking up your TV to it. Great investment.

(CAUTION ALERT) Be aware that leaving this product on for long periods of time with the top of the receiver being covered up by something to prevent the fan from blowing out the hot air could burn out the receiver like mine did. NO BLAME ON THE MANUFACTURE, I BLAME MY ROOMMATES AND THEIR CARELESSNESS. <--- Be smart when placing this in your house.

Sony XDR-S10HDiP HD Radio with Dock for iPod/iPhone
+ 0 likes
Had the Philips BTM630, but stopped working within 8 months.

I found this sony dock as a replacement. As I go to get ready to get it out of the box, it was ready to go, litterally. Awesome, but was very dissapointed that this dock has no equalizer. There was also no Mute button, which helps for unwanted commercials. I was hoping Sony would be smart and add Bluetooth. Had they added bluetooth, I would forget about the rest of the stuff.
Overall, had it for 2 weeks so far, sound is INCREDIBLE. Get it!!!

Onkyo TX-NR807 7.2-Channel A/V Surround Home Network Receiver (Black)

First off, I tried the Onkyo 607 to save some money and felt it to be a little lacking in the power department. So, I decided to take that back and spend a little (actually twice as much) on the 807. It was well worth the trade up. This has such a clear sound! It has punch and can really wake you up during a surprise movie scene, you know the kind like in a scary movie when the killer jumps out. The dynamics of this receiver are incredible. I also like the option of using pandora music which is great for a party. Hooking up the speaker wire is also very easy. The terminals are farther apart than most receivers and not stacked on top of each other, so it's easy to access the speaker terminals. I wholeheartedly recommend this receiver.

Denon AVR1610 5.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver with 1080p HDMI Connectivity
+ 0 likes
I've owned this receiver for approximately 2 months and couldn't be more pleased. The mass of wiring I had for the old receiver is gone, replaced by 3 HDMI cables (one out to the TV, and 2 for input from the Blu Ray and Directv receiver) Simplicity is a virtue. The sound is superior to the Onkyo I replaced and the Denon works much better with my Logitec universal remote.

Mirage Nanosat 50 Home Theater Speaker System

Bought this due to the size of the room I was placing it in. After hearing them in action in the Magnolia sound room I realized these could easily be used in a much larger room (in case I moved out of my townhome and into a single family home). The speakers sound awesome turned down (crisp) and when I crank them up it booms and still retains their clarity.

I swaped out my Bose speakers for these smaller ones and they sound just as good if not better. The company's patented Omnipolar technology disperses sound evenly in a perfect 360º pattern, delivering a lifelike, three-dimensional sound experience unlike any other. You can't tell where the speakers are placed in the room because of it.

Sony CMT-LX20i 10W RMS Total Power Output Micro Hi-Fi Shelf System
+ 0 likes
What I like most about this product is that it is a small size stereo that doesn't take up much room. However, it gives off enough sound as if it were a large system. The songs from my IPod sound very clear as if I'm listening to them on the radio. My CD's sound great as well as the radio. The price is also reasonable. Just two small gripes, to charge the IPod the system must be powered on and there's no remote. Other than that, I would recommend this product to anyone.

Sony MHC-EC79i Mini Hi-Fi Shelf System with Integrated iPod Dock 380W

Wanted compact player & this a bit larger than I wanted - speakers not attached so makes moving it about more difficult. It has a great sound. User manual less than efficient. Marks everything 1-2-3- etc. but nowhere does it tell you what 1-2-3 is. Weird. I finally figured it out. Agree that owner should be able to prograM radio to their specifications but can't delete the original settings. Each part of the country have their own broadcasting stations and should be up to owner to program. Love the sound however so makes up for first frustrations.

Pioneer VSX-519V-K 5-Channel A/V Receiver (Black)

Where do I start??? This was a purchase to replace an old JVC receiver that I had for years. I like the fact it has true HDMI connections and customizable radio stations. I just purchased it yesterday and couldnt wait to get home and hook it up. I also purchased the Klipsch powered subwoofer to complete my 5.1 surround sound....this receiver makes it all sound good. Wonderful purchase, just can't go wrong for the price compared to the Sony and Yamaha that were priced about the same. ($200)

Overall a great alarm clock. I was amazed to finally find something in between of "iPod specific" and "bare-bones". 2 alarm modes with either radio, buzzer OR mp3 player input = a happy person. On;y down side that I can really think of is that the LCD display is a bit too bright at night, even in the dimmest setting. I find I have to turn it away from my face at 3am. Other than that, mint.

Onkyo TX-NR807 7.2-Channel A/V Surround Home Network Receiver (Black)

This receiver was by far the best thing I have ever purchaed in my years of buying HT products. By far the best bang for the buck around $1000.00 The features on this product certainly rival some of the more expensive products. Don't just take my word... go try one out at the local BB. I took about three weeks of looking at similar products... landed on this one... and NEVER looking back. INCREDIBLE receiver.. thanks Onkyo.... My Denon has been replaced...

NOTE: on a side note, and this has happened on my Denon as well.. If you are sending your Cable Box (Comcast in particular) to your receiver via HDMI, expect to have a bunch of AUDIO hicups and Video stall. I have had Comcast out about 100 times about this.. nobody seems to know why this happens... so I ventured the forums and it appears to be something the Comcast boxes are having problems with...

Pioneer VSX-1019AH-K 7-Channel A/V Receiver (Black)

I am using only three HDMI cables to hook up my entire system (73" Mitsu TV, BluRay player, and HD DVR). Three cables, so you can't get an easier setup than that. The surround sound is fantastic. I went and bought an additional center speaker and powered subwoofer to take advantage of this so make sure you did that. Also, I did have to upgrade the firmware in my TV, and also if you have any problems with this device seemingly being controlled or misconfigured by another device, turn the Kuro-link feature in this receiver off. Do not settle for a hookup that uses HD video but digital or analog audio. The difference between HD audio and other formats is startling. Sounds are crisp and clear. Even though my last system was loud, often times I could not understand what people were saying in movies. Now I hear everything clearly, not just loudly. The remote is great, switching inputs is a cinch, and the expanded surround stereo mode makes listening to classical music seem like you're right in

Sony ICF-C705 AM/FM Clock Radio

I was looking for a clock radio that had preset stations as I hate trying to tune to different stations at night in the dark. This radio does have that feature but the buttons are a tad too small and do not stick up from the surface of the radio so that makes it a little difficult to find and push the correct ones. And trying to find the up down tuning buttons is a challenge when lying on your back and reaching over to manual tune. The bright medium and dim display lighting might be fine for some but I find the dim just too brite for me. I have to put something in front to block the light. Overall I rate the radio good and a good purchase

Onkyo HT-RC160 7.2-Channel A/V Surround Home Theater Receiver

I bought this receiver to replace an aging Sony STR-DE925 that had finally gone to the big home theater in the sky. I recently bought the Klipsch Quintet 5 piece speaker system to go with my 10" Velodyne sub. I was disappointed with these speakers on the Sony, but when I hooked them up to this receiver, I was blown away with how great they sounded together. After running the speaker setup procedure, I was absolutely amazed by how great the surround sound worked. It is so much better than the Sony, it is like a whole different movie watching experience. I only have the 2 surround speakers hooked up right now (5.1). I can only imagine what the 7.1 must sound like. Also, don't worry about the power on this unit. 80 watts is enough to drive these speakers to the point where I could not even turn it up all the way and stand in the same room! Besides the sound quality, the real reason I bought this receiver was the HDMI upconvert feature that it offered. I wanted to run just 1 HDMI

Sony STR-DH100 2-Channel Audio Receiver (Black)

I have to say the reviews here seriously over-rate this receiver. I wanted to replace my 25 year old Denon DRA-600 receiver with this thing. I simply plugged in all my existing components and speakers and compared. If you are used to quality sound, you will be disappointed by this receiver. Nothing is crisp -- it's as if a table cloth was placed over my speakers -- just not much dynamic range for 21st century electronics. It's not fit for your living room stereo system -- maybe for a rec room theater system or your kid's bedroom. I'm keeping my old, old receiver. Don't know what to do with this thing.
