Uniden DCT Series Phone

I have 4 of these phones and they work great! I ordered this one because my son dropped one in the toilet. I could haved saved money because after a week of drying out the phone it works again. WOW what a phone!

Too bad it was discontinued

The phones do exactly what I want, but are manufacture discontinued. I bought these reconditioned units because I think they're better than the newer current units.

Its Cute, that's all it has going for it

I purchased this phone for my home office after weeks of research on other phones. I liked the design of it, and the size of the phone and was ready for something stylish especially when clients come to the office.

The Pros:
Its very stylish, the handset feels like velvet, the clock display is excellent.

The Cons:
Its a horrible phone, my handset buttons stick all the time or don't press when I press them.
There are no headset jacks or BT capabilities. If you like holding a phone to your ear for over an hour, this phone is great. Otherwise you better be wiling to share your conversation with everyone around you.
Sim card for address book only. My phone doesn't use a sim card and you can't put other memory cards or connect to a PC
Special ringers - these don't work for me because for some reason whenever I call the phone from my cell phone it says my voice mail is calling so nobody answers. It doesn't display my number either, just says voice mail. Also for a lot of clients that call  more

DEFECTIVE

MY MOM AND I PURCHASED TWO SEPARATE PHONES FOR OURSELVES AT THE SAME TIME. HER PHONE BROKE WITHIN THE FIRST THREE MONTHS.
I PUT UP WITH MINE FOR OVER A YEAR, PAST THE WARRANTY!
"IT WAS SO COOL LOOKING." MY MOTHER NEVER TAKES ANYTHING BACK. SO OUR FAMILY IS OUT ALMOST FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS WITH TWO BROKEN STYLISH PHONES. THIS PHONE HAS FRUSTRATED ME SINCE DAY ONE. ITS SCROLL THROUGH, LONG DRAWN OUT, ROUND ABOUT WAY OF RETRIEVING MESSAGES. TO ITS DEFECTIVE CORD THAT SOMETIMES ANSWERS YOUR MESSAGES... AS WELL AS THE BATTERY DISCHARGING INTERMITTENTLY. THE TECHNCIAN SAID ITS MOST LIKELY A SIGNAL IN THE PHONE THAT SOMEHOW WONT ALLOW EVEN A NEW BATTERY TO CHARGE. BIG HELP.
I WAS JUST IN DENIAL.
PHILIPS HAS NO REPAIR SERVICE CENTER TO DIRECT ME TO AND SINCE ITS OVER A YEAR NO WARRANTY REPLACEMENT EITHER.

MY ADVICE: FORGET IT.

headset

I ordered this phone and one other to try for my home office. The thing is beautiful but the fact that it has no option for a headset, plug in or bluetooth makes it useless. Who would make a product designed with a long talk time with no headset capabilities? According to their customer service department Phillips.

not impressed

It's too easy to accidentally hang up because the buttons are raised too high and they bump against your check.
There are no speaker phone options.
Entering data in memory is cumbersome and not user friendly.
Distinctive ring tones cannot be previewed to hear what they sound like before applying them.
Quality of sound is good.

Not Good

The unit I received had a constant hum or noise which was very painful. I tried changing channels etc... but to no avail. It also did not have a speakerphone which i guess i missed reading that. My wife made me send it back. The return was easy and I was out the cost of shipping the unit back. I will try a DECT 6.0 Pansonic instead of the 5.8 G vtech next time.

You would have to pay me to keep this phone set!!!

Static & whooshing noise, range is non-existent, phone beeps & drops calls in the next room, volume control & ringer volume are so difficult to control, you either can't hear the voice or it's too loud & when they ring loudly they sound like a fire alarm! Caller ID reads 1 missed call instead of name & number until you press buttons to expose name & by that time it's too late to answer it. If you answer on phone #1 & call is for another person in the home, you have to know if they have phone #2 or #3 in their hand, then press select & the number of the phone they have!! So you have to yell out "what # phone do you have?" they have to answer you then you have to transfer by pressing select & the correct phone # since two phones are dead when you answer one! Did I lose you yet? I'm returning these horrific phones tomorrow. I unfortunately purchased a set for my mom as well, never opened that box & they're going back too, quicker than you can say "these phones bleep!"

only one phone at a time

the extension phones only work if you hang up the first line. Cannot pick up the extension and hear yur party on the other line. Each phone works as a seperate unit.

expensive but worthy

I have bought this phone at Bestbuy with best offer.

It is quite expensive, but you will never regret your choice.

Whenever the phone rings, you will see how sexy your phone is.

Recommend if you want a phone that matches your sofa or other appliances in the post modern designs.

Disappointing, but looks cool

I never write reviews, but I had been considering the purchase of this particular phone for a few months. After having it for 3 days I reluctantly packed it up this evening to be exchanged for a different model/brand. I could not hear the anyone I was speaking with - it was so aggravating - I could not see myself owning it for several years and not being frustrated. I checked the manual to see how I could turn up the earpiece but it said that I need to be closer to the base for better audio clarity. I moved right next to it, no improvement. I am bummed out, especially because one of the ring tones was Ave Maria - beautiful. It was also equipped with Italian, French and Spanish functions, which was an amusing answering machine voice.

Pairing With State of the Art Hearing Aids

I can now use a telephone and actually understand what is being said to me because of the bluetooth in this telephone. It paired with my hearing aids immediaely. What a wonderful item for the hearing impaired.

Love this phone

I had this model phone for two years. Something happened... it broke. I tried an ATT bluetooth connect phone... it was junk... so I re-bought the exact same Panasonic phone I loved for 2 years...

This phone does just about everything I need. Uploads my phone book to all the handsets, connects seamlessly to my bluetooth earset, has plenty of room for lots of messages, is very user friendly, the only thing I'd add is an option for audio message alert. I don't notice the little light blinking when there's a message. I can also bluetooth connect my cell phone and my husband's cell phone. This phone will accept up to five bluetooth connections. I just hope it doesn't break again in only two years.

Great phone. Still costly.

I bought the KX-TH111S system and was very happy with it. I bought additional KX-THA19S handsets to expand the system to all rooms in the house. They work fabulously. I have no complaints other than the cost. Retail for these was $50. Amazon had them for $43 each. That's quite a bit of money for ONE handset, but the features of the phone system made it worthwhile.

Just like a cell phone

I love this phone. I know a lot of people who reviewed it talked about the exceptional sound quality and all that. I can't really tell the difference of the HD sound. However, I love the functions available. The phone is very slick and overall operates like a cell phone not a regular home phone from the redialing to the wallpaper options. You can store people's phone numbers, go back and delete just the last digit when you are dialing and messed up, without having to start all over. I also love the battery life and the distance it can operate from the base. I did have two times when I dialed a number and it just hung up before the call went through. Otherwise it has been perfect.

Love this phone!

I'm very happy with this phone set. We bought the base and two extra handsets. The sound quality is great, and they are smaller than the last panasonic cordless phone we had. We have two phone lines, and this phone works great for that. You can choose different ring tones to tell which line is ringing. There is a jack for a headset on all the handsets, which I think is important. The cool feature is being able to link cell phones with this phone. Once the cell phone is paired, it's so easy to come home, press one button on the base unit and link the cell phone via bluetooth. Then I can answer cell phone calls (or make them!) from any handset in the house. It works great! You can link up to five different bluetooth devices. You can only use one at a time, but that's not a problem for us. I'm glad we bought this set.

Bought 2 in December and liked the phone so much, just bought another

Excellent 2-line cordless phone. I bought two about a month ago mainly because of various reviews. So far I'm very satisfied with the phones. I bought another to replace my AT&T AT 1412 (2-line) cordless that I'm happy to retire, it's a lousy cordless. The Panasonic is easy to program and the sound is very good, specially when using the speaker phone. The speaker phone audio is SUPER. The other party doesn't know when I'm using the speaker phone. One can be 10 feet from the cordless and the other party can still clearly make out what your saying. Most cordless phones come with a belt clip as does the Panasonic, but it also comes with a Shoulder Rest attachment. I'll probably never use the shoulder rest because the speaker phone audio is that good, never the less most others do not include this option. It's desk or wall mountable. I'm going to knock on wood when I say that I have owned a number of Panasonic products over the years and never have had one fail me. My only complaint with Panasonic  more

Great looking!, Friendly Phone.

I gave this phone to my boyfriend for Christmas and he loved it. I have had Nokia cell phones for some time & I think this one is a combination of a regular phone and a Nokia. We had no problemssetting it and using it.

Good phone.

Good phone. Solid structure. Good sound and without noise in long distance. In my opinion poor address book (only 50 numbers) and the impossibility to upgrade the list of compatibility bluetooth cellular phones.

2-Line Panasonic cordless phone

I was specifically looking for a 2-line cordless phone that would hang on the wall. It was a challenge to find this. The Panasonic phone fit the bill and works great. If I had one complaint, it would be that there is only one voice mail message indicator on the phone. This means you have to pick up the phone and listen to the dial tone of each line to find out which line has the voice mail message. This, however, would not make me send the phone back or not purchase it again. I would definitely purchase this phone again.
