such a shame for the dropped quality!! but this is windows 7 running aero theme. i use to use vista and everyday tasks were an effort, now it runs perfectly using the same theme, but better!!

Basic theme: http://www.hawkee.com/profile/img/2548/

jonesy, I had to remove that other image, we just can't have sexual images even if they're just your background on a screenshot.

Lol! come on scott ;) what do you think of w7 anyways?

Just hope its not as problematic as Vista, but I don't plan to use it any time soon. I've been a happy OS X user for the past 4 years.

Oh fair enough. i've been a happy vista user to be honest with you. And this is just incredible. runs perfectly on half the "required" specs :) this is the ultimate version too

I think it looks kinda cool. Were you able to dual boot this with Vista?
jonesy44  -  Jan 10, 2009
Nope, unless you use some 3rd party software. it's worth the change though.

i know it's in the very early stages of development, but i really hope they try to make it be based on atleast 10% of performance, rather than vista which was created on 100% of appearance.

I know Windows 7 has alott more BETA's to be produced, but just look at the login screen of Windows 7 & Windows Vista, near on the same.

However, i did like Vista, and won't change from Vista until im completely satisfied that its better than Vista, which in theory, will be pretty easy to achieve.

I think they should get rid of that annoying "delete recycle bin" option, i know we can do it ourselvs, and is exactly what i have done. But for people who don't know how to, i think it would be a good idea to incorporate.

the only apparent fault in vista i find is dont do all the updates do what is inmportant and needed, leave the rest alone as certain updates can and will crash your computer as it had done to mine. But other then that Vista is good!! Well i can recall when XP came out we all went crap ..so same principal with vista LOL.

Not really, when XP came out there were alott of bugs that needed to be fixed which was understandable, and most of them were fixed in service pack 1, but in vista, not even a qaurter of the bugs were fixed in service pack 1, so it just goes to show, they didn't really try with Vista, they also said Vista Ultimate couldn't be cracked, and it was, about 2 weeks after release.

Windows 7 works much better than vista, imo. I find it faster & easier. that's what i think, end of XD and this is just beta1!!

this is just beta1!!

exactly, windows 7 doesn't have all of vista's software/themes/pretty stuff compacted in yet, hence why it runs quicker and easier.

I attempted to dual boot this with XP but when Windows 7 boots up all I get is a black screen with a small blue strip at the top...
jonesy44  -  Jan 28, 2009
:/ no idea.

beta7025's been leaked
mountaindew  -  Jan 30, 2009
:) finally got it dual booted with XP, I guess it had to do with my video card and I guess you can't use an lcd monitor with it or something...

Now I just have to add my wireless adapter so I can connect to the internet ;)
a careful warchild  -  Jan 31, 2009
you can use LCD/TFT/CRT monitors with windows 7, as im using all of them lol.
jonesy44  -  Feb 01, 2009
i just have the built inone of my laptop. LCD?
mountaindew  -  Feb 02, 2009
Well I guess it had to do with nvidia or something and I just had to use a crt monitor to set it up and then update the driver on the card. I donno, it's what someone told me on a help forum and it worked.
jonesy44  -  Feb 02, 2009
Hah, atleast it's sorted now.

I like them both. They both have their uses. But I find windows 7 SO much better ATM because it's compatible with everything
