but i could never understand regex. it's ugly and its language is a complete mess

regular expressions dont belong to mIRC, many other languages adopted regex, like
PHP, java, PERL, mIRC,python, ruby

so if many languages adopted it, i dont think its useless, or its a "complete mess"

there is another website with more examples

about this

Code

someone will say to you about the "false positive" like

if your nick is "nick" then there is someone in room called "nicky" so it will trigger too, my advice is this

Code

of course someone will post another one
_Dean_ commented on mIRC Script: SLAP the Game  -  Jan 28, 2011
dude click on ''delete'' button to delete my comments
_Dean_ commented on mIRC Script: SLAP the Game  -  Jan 28, 2011
Click on my comment above and delete it, by the way, i dont see a reason to not consider this as Snippet, since there is many users who post enormous snippets here
_Dean_ commented on mIRC Snippet: All-in-one Private chat  -  Jan 28, 2011
of course not, cause using the "." dot it will turn invisible to u, remove the dot, receive a pm with the NC dialog closed, and check whats happen, by the way this script will stop ppl to receive normal pm if the user dont open the NC dialog
_Dean_ commented on mIRC Snippet: All-in-one Private chat  -  Jan 28, 2011
ok he fixed... what about this?

Code

cause if you use this
.did -a NC 1 < $+ $nick $+ > $1- $+ $crlf
without check, if the dialog NC is openned all you will see on status is
* /did: invalid parameters

you need to check first, if the dialog its openned or not
_Dean_ commented on mIRC Script: SLAP the Game  -  Jan 28, 2011
not yet, click on ''snippets'' above, then click on ''post snippet'', there choose plataform mIRC, and put the code on the code place

yes i tested the first option do this...

try just this one

Code

_Dean_ commented on mIRC Snippet: All-in-one Private chat  -  Jan 28, 2011
what do u mean? u saying that using the second method and the dialog is openned, you will receive it the pm normally or it only appear on the dialog?

cause using the .closemsg $nick it will close the message, and it will only show on dialog

_Dean_ commented on mIRC Snippet: All-in-one Private chat  -  Jan 28, 2011
about this

Code

if the person receives a pm, and the dialog NC is closed?

you can use this

Code

that will analize if the dialog is openned, and then will close the pm, if not, it will receive the pm normally

Where do you get the statistics about "in most countries, they use dynamic ips?"

south america, and Hispanic countries, most of them, use dinamic IP's no need statistic about it, cause most of ppl i add on Blacklists, by IP's, its rare when it recognize their IP's cause in the most part of time, its changed, so i need to add, nicks, idents, and IP's
_Dean_ commented on mIRC Snippet: The "infoline"  -  Jan 26, 2011

There are many folks with static ones that seldom get changed

and what about the dinamics? cause in most countries, they use dinamic ips
_Dean_ commented on mIRC Snippet: The "infoline"  -  Jan 26, 2011
i dont think its a good idea, check the greet by the mask, cause if the user has a dinamic ip, and it changes, everytime he boots the pc, so it will not work

you can use, to check nicks and idents, if the verification by mask fail
