That's just it. They are more concerned with it getting done, and not how it's done. The problem is the fact that people try to sell how to do it instead of selling the solution itself.

Very handy advice. Sometimes you need to question your client to get to the root of their intentions. A lot of the time they might not know what they're doing.

By the way, your script does not work in IE7 and below due to the weird standarts of IE: an array option cannot end with a comma.

The last comma (around footerSpeed, line 75) is extra. Removing it fixes the issue : )
